In the how-it´s-made part of the video, the shoes do still have their pull tabs though.... different shoes than the one from the presentation, or did they cut off the tabs afterwards?

The question for Jim Green is...Who doesn't like roughouts? The answer is everybody loves roughouts!! If you made them ln the style of WW2 roughouts you would have a sellout.

I really like both pairs of African Rangers that I own. One tough, reliable boot. Rough out would be a great choice for this boot.

I love my AR's! My favorite shoe of my whole life. I was used to thick squishy soles and having high arches and bad knees from youth Athletics i was doubtful of the harder more durable sole on the AR. But my feet and ankles were strengthened and now little to zero knee pain! Im asking for the barefoot pair for my bday

i hate the soles. they hurt my feet. ii replaced them with vibram 2060 soles. much better but a leather midsole would make the boot even more comfortable

I would love to get a pair of Jim Green boots, but you guys don't offer an oil/slip resistant boot so I wouldn't be allowed to wear your boots at work. I feel that you guys might be missing out a lot of jobs that require oil resistant outsoles. I believe everything else would be compliment with most work environments.

What's a runner? What is it usually made from and what does using resin for it change?

They have explained in other videos. It is for better sole adhesion. Leather glues to synthetic well, but since they swell and shrink at different rates with moisture and temperature it can cause separation over time. Adding the resin runner creates a much more solid bond between the sole and shoe.

The toe box on these boots looks taller than the standard African Ranger. Is this part of the custom work, or has the toe box height been increased in the design? Among the few complaints I read in Amazon reviews of the AF boot is that, while the toe box is nice and wide, its height could be taller. This caused the top of the toes to rub against the inside of the toe box. Reviews like these have caused me to wait until I hear the problem has been resolved before buying the African Ranger boots.

I'm actually the one who ordered these, the last is the same as the regular african ranger but the video does not say is that the shoe is also lined with the same yellow leather that the razorbacks have so I think that is making the toe look slightly bulkier i personally have no issues with my toes rubbing but I have pretty wide and not particularly tall feet and have never had and issue with the tops of my toes rubbing in any shoe

@ManlyDudeXD Does that extra lining make the boot warmer compared to the say the more flexible BF AR? I need a good winter boot and I wouldn't mind a pair of ARs with the shank removed and maybe a different sole.

@@ph3590 it does make it a tad warmer but nothing more than a thicker sock would do imo, maybe slower to feel a chill at first but not really more insulating

@@ManlyDudeXD This is what I thought, yet it looks so much bigger compared to the normal AR on the far right at the beginning of the video that I wondered. But I adore the look. It's the perfect blend of round, boxy, and chunky. Not that the normal AR look bad, but these are perfect. The RO I think also contributes to it.
