you know what’s stupid is they didn’t find him guilty because they need a 2/3 majority vote. Last time I checked any process that involves voting declares the winner if there’s even a one vote majority.

Such a sad day for America and democracy. Other countries look up to the US and when the Senate Minority Leader says Trump is "practically and morally responsible" for the insurrection *after* voting to acquit him, it's just so....heartbreaking. As an objective outsider, this Republican Party is the downfall of all that America stood for. Having lived in and loved this country, it's really sad to see this level of unconstitutionality.

Impeachment is over… not convicted, what a surprise…. That was the wrong audience and the wrong question for impeachment. Instead of asking: “Was his speech (on that day) responsible for the assault on the capital?”, they should have asked: “Did the president knowingly do nothing to prevent it.” Their best evidence was tied to this question. That would force some senators to say guilty. I hope the people who lost loved ones at that day charge him for a criminal act if it is possible. With the right audience, not some senators. Appealing to their humanity, heart and common sense is a waste of time, they are only interested in themselves and their political goals. I mean, did anyone here really think that the senator from Texas or some others would say “guilty”? Even with the best evidence in the world, he would not, because it does not support his agenda. Democrats took it too personal. Probably confused by so much evidence. Just compare the desks of both sides. On trumps team there was almost no paper at all while the other desk was floating with mountains of them.

(please note: this only works if the jury blatantly agrees to literally ignore everything and acquit you. Results may vary)
