Wow! I remember these buses and route masters as clear as if it were yesterday! The last bit was West Norwood bus station. I knew that too. Many thanks for sharing this video.
I drove the 12’s from Norwood Junction to Harlesden from Elmers End Garage between 1981 to 1986- the site was demolished and they built old people’s flats there, it was directly opposite the Cemetary and the sewage farm, we all joked at the time that the Old people wouldn’t have far to go when they die and they could overlook their final resting place.
Wow to think this is now getting close to 30years ago...got to stop watching videos that make me feel old(er) lol. Nice to see all the same, thanks for uploading.
Superb! Was a driver there late 70's. Wonderful garage with good atmosphere. They refurbished the canteen only a few years before it was demolished. There is nothing left of it now, it's totally gone. I drove RM1815.

When did the number 12 get cut back from Elmers End? My nan used to live off Barry Road in Dulwich and the route used to terminate at the Dulwich Plough (I think it still does) and the 12A carried on to Forest Hill, Penge and Croydon. (It then became the 312 then the 197 -- when I lived in east Croydon I'd just take the 12A or 312 almost door to door. The 726 went straight to my other grandad's in New Malden.)
25th October 1986 when the 12 was curtailed from Norwood Junction to Penge. The 12A was transferred to Croydon at the same time. The 12 was later cut from Penge to Dulwich in November 1988.
Funny, these route master buses with their 40's underpinnings hardly ever broke down, unlike the high tech rubbish now that are causing additional traffic holdups on a daily basis !
It's Elmers End LT garage in Kent; just to confuse matters, the video moves on to Thornton Heath. Copying and digitising from video 8 in real time was a chore and sometimes I forgot to press stop at the right time!
