I was thinking about using red and tacky in my diff but wasn’t sure if that was ok to do. Now I know thanks to you. You got a new subscriber and can’t wait to check out more vids. Thank you👍👍👍👍
Normally I would say yes but in my situation I didn’t because there was plenty used in the previous assembly. I could tell by the feel of the threads I didn’t need anymore. Using too much can get you in bad situations. Thanks for watching brother!!!
Thank for this video I think this is the only video on RU-vid that show how to do that. I been thinking of doing this to my baja 5b to eliminate silicone leak...can I use ordinary automobile greaae? Hoping to see its running video soon...
Thanks for watching brother!!! Yes you can use normal automotive grease. Lucas red and Taki Grease is just an all purpose high-pressure grease. I was using crazy grease also another all purpose high-pressure grease. It’ll be back running again before the snow melts guaranteed!!!
O man what a mess haha!!!! I guess that’s needed with that TMR performance. I wonder if using a needle on your grease gun and injecting it right into the plug hole would work. Either way love these tech videos!
Ive just got a rovan baja 36cc and im a complete beginner, taking the diff out looks extremely intimidating, how hard is it for a beginner to take apart ? As i want to do everything properly
Thanks 😊 it’s not that hard don’t let it intimidate you, just pay attention to how it comes apart, and separate your fasteners accordingly. If you have a way you can always video yourself disassembling and watch it for help in reassembly. If you have any questions feel free to contact me 👍🏼🤙🏼
@@Meyers2strokeRcgarage thanks for the amazingly quick reply just one more question ,do you have to remove most of the rear end and gears to access the diff? Just got another follower , absolutely spot on chap 👍
@leesergiew8623 right on bro 😎 yes you’re going to have to remove most of everything from the clutch bell back, but do it in assemblies, meaning you don’t have to take every single thing apart 😉
Super awesome video brother Ben one quick question I have the baja max 5t and I would like to know is the stock transmission diff the same as the red one or is it like the stock one like you have
Thanks brother!!! One way you can tell is if you have a plastic black case it won’t have any red or any anodized color towards the drive cups. To my knowledge the max 5t comes with a stock plastic transmission. Thanks for watching brother!!!
I have a question or two I'm more of a basher and I was curious what do you like better in your differential do you like silicone oil or do you like the grease better I'm curious because I want to tighten up the diff in my Baja but I don't want to lock it up completely but yeah I don't want it to be completely open either what I'm looking for is about is about to 65% to 75 lockup I'm new to sit scale only had mine about 6 months but I've had Nitro RC cars for many years and never messed with anything as far as handling characteristics I would really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction
@@Meyers2strokeRcgarage Thanks for the reply that is what I was thinking about doing in the first place but I like to bounce some ideas off other people who are in 5th scale that have been doing it a little longer than I have I came to the channel because of Jeff recommendation and I sub because of this video and a few others
