Hi Steve Left you a tip on the Viva tappets post. My best mate had a p6 v8 auto back when I had my hb Viva. It was a real banger he picked up from the auction but he thrashed it for a yesr. I was spanner man, if I wasn't under the Viva bonnet then it was his rover. It had a horrendous oil leak from front crank seal, he drove round with a gallon can of oil in boot. Was always asking me to sort it but couldn't be arsed as it meant swinging the engine and he never kept or looked after his motors. They were the days. Best wishes mate, John
Them good old days of motoring, I was like that ones with an Alfa Romeo 156, did the bare minimal to keep it going. I drove it until it when bang. It used to drive a litre of oil a day, but it was a fun old car when it ran right 👍
Hi Steve. I lost count of the P6 's ! And that " JET 1 " replica lookeď spot on . I do remember seeing the actual car at the British Science Museum a very long time ago ! "Alex's Assets " ...what ever next ! Guess l'll have to have a look ! .....haven't see anything from Harriet for nearly 2 years. Thanks Steve.
That JET 1 replace was something else. It had a a copy of the original gas turbine engine in in the rear and I believe a Jaguar V12 up front. Alex makes some very good Rover content, shes well worth a watch. As for Harriet she's more on Instagram than RU-vid those days 👍
I think it's a case of when something gets to a certain age it doesn't matter how old it it, it's what makes you happy that matters. And I love driving around in my P6 👍
@@SteveDentonClassics I actually enjoy the simplicity of classic cars. No electronic drivers aids to spoil the experience. Your Rover is a beaut and very much a drivers car of the old school.
Crusty old men !.........let me tell you young man ! I may be crusty and old now but by jove that wasn't always the case ! 😅 l actually had my first P5b Coupe in 1976, l was 23 , but l had to completely rebuild it. They were particularly good as rusting ! And then l had a P6 2000TC at 25 that was also a rusty old bucket . Haven't had one since but must say the Coupe was lovely car.
Cheers, there is a reason for that. My channel is concentrated on the interests of cars from the 1940's until the end of the 1970's. Therefore to keep the core of my viewers happy, that's what I generally tend to film 👍
