Roy said he never wanted to be famous, he didn't even know why anyone would gunk he was great (a lot of humility) he played because he loved to play, and he played for the people that loved how he played. My favorite guitarist EVER!!

I saw Roy play 'The Messiah will Come Again' in a park near the river in Minneapolis during the summer of 1977 and is was overcast, and when he was going through this number the heavens opened up and shown the sunlight on the stage...it was something to see...when he sang that verse...the Messiah will come again...gave me the shivers even now....Johnne in Seattle

Roy was a one of a kind treasure. Thanks for this upload. The longer version is even better. Hard to argue this isn't the greatest guitar song ever written. So much feeling in every note. Just a man, a telecaster, and an amplifier with all the knobs turned to 10, belting it out from the depths of a troubled soul. RIP Roy. Play this at my funeral and I'll be seeing you on the other side.

I also saw Roy Buchanan in the mid 70's here in Sydney , small club mid week with maybe 25 people in the audience. He hardly spoke but over the next hour or so I was 10 feet away from one of the greatest guitarists I've ever heard. I'm a player and have seen many/most of the "name" players and he's right up there He ended the set by thanking us and playing Hey Joe/Foxey Lady Never forgot the night and this humble man, Very sad to hear of his passing. Thank you for the post

Blessings! I NEVER copied ANY of all the licks heard from Ritchie, Jimmy , Jimi, Gary, Rory,... although they are GREAT! But when i heard Gary Moore with this one, i (re)searched on my own fret-board... For me, Gary OVERDO(E)S it, but with his very own GRANDEZZA! but Roy... plays straight into my heart... I will follow that path he founded... LEGEND!!

I have listened to this over 5o times, but i am always amazed how it touches me. Of course, when anyone writes and sings a song about Jesus, it means they were inspirired by the Holy Spirit, to write and or sing it. When that happens and as you listen to it, the Holy Spirit touches you. That is one of the ways that God works, through HIS Holy Spirit. Roy has been dead for many years, but this music lives on, because it was inspired by God Himself. May you be blessed with wisdom, understanding and light, in Jesus name. From Mark S. in Toronto.

Heaven Hi, I just keep writing to as many as I can when I am getting to have my Y-FY on, and it's not all that often, so it is when a brother or sister might say that the one most important things for every sister and brother to really realize is that our Heavenly Father has truly brought to us here in this country and on our Divine Creators' Holy Ground, at this time for all to take all you possibly can to pray to stay doing the True Healing act of Love for All Gods' male and female creatures to simply try and share to all that they are not to be bought or eating, and the more we can educate our Good Shepherds Honest to Goodness Truth to eventually bring more to see a definite evolution and a Real Healing from our Holy Fathers Merciful Forgiveness and His True Blessed Peaceful Solution for all brothers and sisters and to also come to understand that we were born into an evil corrupt system, so we need to also bring up something our hearts need to feel, and it's about the True data & stats of how many newborn deformities and diseases that never get brought to every brother and sisters full attention, and it seems like so much of what one who is now sincerely seeking and truly wanting our Holy Fathers Revelation can type their questions and be able to find out how so much of our histories of mankind's' stubborn egotist sickness and unjust brainwashing ways just seem to not have any better solution to be closer to the True Wisdom of what Blessing our Merciful and Forgiving Holy Father has for all those who have come to taken to doing an honest to our Divine Creator Gods Commandments. So we must also believe we have the Greatest of our Holy Fathers Gift of the Holy Spirit to go forth and freely to share all that what Christ Jesus ministered for all brothers and sisters of The Way, The Truth and Life, knowing He would be with us always, and we continue giving all Praise for His Glorious Gifts of The Spirit Amen.

Saw Roy in NJ myself. He opened for Robin Trower. What a show.

No matter how I often I listen to this song, 5:38 gives me the chills each and every time. It hurts. Absolutely love this song.

Saw him live at a church in Evansron Il. for $5.00 in 1973. Thanks to Suzie Boyle who turned me on to Roy !

Roy often played in Pittsburgh toward the end of his life. My Brother and I had the great pleasure to see Roy play at the Syrian Mosque. I was in high school and just learning to play guitar. Now forty years later I too am able to play some of Roy's tunes. However, no one can match his sound ... Roy is a one of a kind.
