The Undisputed Light Heavyweight title fight took place in New Orleans , Louisiana USA. WBC, WBA, IBF & IBO titles were on the line. 09/09/2000 Link to part 1 • Roy Jones JR vs Eric H...
He gotten tire & beaten down by Roy. Harding arms was hurting, getting pounding. He couldnt go anymore. Thats something i never seen before in boxing someone quit on a arm beatdown. Bad Ass Roy
@@The1whoStrives Roy said it himself. He really had no choice but to deal with southpaws as a light heavyweight because there were so many in the division. All you need to do is look it up (it was mentioned at the 6:29 mark), but judging by your response I can tell that you won’t look it up…
In round 8, Jones wanted to see if Harding still had power in his right hand, after he targeted it. You can tell that Jones allowed Harding to hit him in that round.
Harding was a decent fighter and he gave Roy trouble. Roy looked like he had a bad night though. Harding dominated Tarver (their first fight) and had won a close fight vs. M. Griffin. He was a worthy opponent but a 30-1 underdog. He tore the bicep in his left arm in round 2.
If it wasn't for the tear he would have given Roy more problems. You could tell Roy wasn't jumping on the kid but may have turned him to pasta in the last 2 rounds. You can't throw a punch with a torn bicep, only other guy who did that and finished the fight was SHANNON BRIGGS! and he took a beating of all beatings but still stood his ground cause HES THE CHAMP!
Biceps my ass. Harding quit. Jus not willing to give it all up, & that's fine. the man has a future still. Some champions would give they life for the big W and some just won't give it all up over a victory and money..
Looking back at these Larry Merchant always seemed grumpy and unsatisfied no matter what. He could have sat with the two grumpy old men Muppets in the balcony.
OMG....Roy could've wiped out the Super Middleweights right after this fight... It was the perfect time to catch Calzaghe...Kessler...Lacy... and that loaded division... but here come the HEAVYWEIGHT HYPE and Money talks...
Because Jones always had problems with taller fighters with long reach but once he settles in with combination punching with those fighters he looks good. Go watch Roy Jones vs Tarver first fight
@@jcentricity pwahaha stupid what about John ruiz tall and longer reach Rjj at his prime beat so many tallest and longer reach. Rjj is flatfooted and to slow n ds fyt
I feel sorry for Eric, although behind on the score cards he was game and was even ahead or at least even through 6. Somewhere in the 7th to 9th round exchanges he hurt/tore the bicep muscle, rendering his left hand useless from then on. And still he hung in there, not running or playing rope-a-dope but fighting as best he could!
That's the right call. At first I thought he was throwing more hooks as strategy but by about the midway point of the 9th, he isn't using the left at all. Then in the corner, he starts saying, 'I can't use the left at all.' Game effort but he would have made it to the decision. Jones really did fight a lot of boring fights, especially at Lt. heavy. Doesn't initiate action at all. He probably understood by that point his chin was questionable.
@RobotBoy71 if anything he didn’t have the best chin since his weight depletion that plays a huge factor and how he in reality was a blown up middleweight. Your chin doesn’t necessarily improve when your weight increases but the punches power does
