I live in south africa love watching these pipers and drummers their great tell your dad super smart but ask him one thing why is the pipes major signals to the left and they turn right where as the brass turn the way the drum major indicates thank him and all those wonderful pipers
Many soldiers from the Isle of Skye served in Highland Regiments in the Napoleonic Wars, and WW1 and WW2, and , still serve. We have pride in the Clans, Septs and Regiments of the Highlands, and Lowlands.
I am comes from Germany and I Love this music from the pipes and drumms and I Love Scottland. Your dad have a wounderful Job in this Tattoo and " du musst sehr stolz auf ihn sein" Sorry are not founds the words in english
Excellent. Thanks so much for posting this. There’s nothing like bagpipes to stir the heart. On my first trip to Scotland, my mother’s homeland, I sat in the gardens below Edinburgh Castle at dusk and wept as I listened to a lone piper playing up in the castle grounds. That was many years ago and it’s still one of my top favourite memories.
Read (not watch) the Outlander books. Outstanding read. All 9 (??) of the "big ones" and all of the smaller ones. One of only a few series of books I ever re-read.
I am proud of them all and I don't know any one of them. I would be bursting with pride of a relative of mine was among them. So please thank your dad Alison and give him a big hug from me. I dread to think how many hour preparation of the uniform must take but I think it is the most romantic uniform in the world and appreciate all the hard work. Thank you. X
BEATIFUL LADS!!!!! RESPECT TO ALL BANDS!!!!!👏👏👍👍🙏🇬🇷👋🌹 THOSE PHOTGRAPHERS RUIN THE PRESENTATION OF THE SIGHT, PLEASE INFO THEM TO GET OUT OF SIGHT FOR THE RESPECT OF THE PERFECT MARCH & EFFORT THE BANDS MAKE.

I'm from the Arab Aden.. It's music that speaks to the soul. It fascinates me.. Authentic music found from the wonderful mountains and forests of Scotland and resonates from the hearts of the wonderful Scots.
Absolutely fantastic this is the very best of Scotland you'll ever hear,I just love the pipes and drums makes you so proud to be Scottish, mostly when I hear them I have a tear in my eye's,it's just the most beautiful sound ever...❤❤❤
@janetross8601, a few years ago while doing research on my mother's paternal family, I learned I/we are of Scotish highlands descent!!! I was blown away, and teary-eyed!! All my life, when I have heard the pipes being played, something deep inside stirred. I never knew why. Now I know!! I am sooo very proud of my Scotish highlands descent!!
I'm an Argentine. I admire your patriotical music. And your patriotical feelings. Excuse me please for my bad English language, i'm trying to learn it.
all the performers are so fantastic and the marching out at the end but before that they march a few times around the esplanade great event more please richard
Would have been MORE enjoyable had it not been for 1 Distraction caused by people running back & Forth, to & fro. 2 Indistinct °Distant View° Shows MORE of Surroundings, Sky etc than Actual °Military Tattoo Activities°
Been at the military tattoo in 2013, and it's amazing. Giving thrills all the time I see videos from the tattoo. Spent a week in Edinburgh, had a great time.
Truly there's something about the pipes and drums that simply rouses the blood whenever they're played!! IMHO there's nothing more magnificent than highlanders standing in defiance, and in defence, of their ground!!.........well, maybe with the exception of the Gurkhas!! (And my genuine respects to both!!) 👍
I’ll a Maori from Newzealand and I married a scot who was from galston he was a awesome man whom had so much mana ❤for every one , we hero in nz love and will always ❤and remember and respect the memories and love he has left here with his grandchildren and great grandchildren ❤❤❤love and miss him forever xxx we still go back to Scotland as his ashes are on his whanau xxx
I've been piping for 52 years. Spent most of my adult life in a California pipe band. (City Of Sacramento Pipe Band). I would love to be able to march in the Tattoo!
I know your band well. We attended many of the Sac area games and danced Scottish Country. There is nothing like the Tattoo. I attended in Edinburgh castle back in 1983 and have never forgotten the power and pride of the music and the people.
I just love the Scottish, I’ve never been to Scotland but my late dad used to go every time Wales & Scotland played rugby. I love the Scottish anthem never fails to make me cry🏴
I'm Welsh too, I was in Vancouver Canada, ten years ago, I asked this lone piper, to play "Scotland the Brave" It brought a lump to my throat. Together, with "Flower of Scotland" powerful anthems, both of them.

I am sorry to say that the fact of these people with cameras are walking through the ranks disturbs me in a very nasty way. I have been there on the 50th aniversary of the tattoo and there were no camera people on the esplanade whatsoever.
Des uniformes magnifiques, une maîtrise totale des instruments, dans un lieu magique. Ça mérite le respect du travail effectué "tank's for this it's magical" 👍👏👏👏💕
the poxy photographers were there by invitation and mostly likely had Press accreditation. they didn't just wander in off the street!! they were there for publicity purposes.
Why is it photographers clutter up no matter what the event is? Keep your distance!😊Look at them. Invasive. Zoom lenses can do the same job. Spoils the whole effect. Like ants.
Yes, do it, it's fab and touching. Plus, when the performance has ended, all the performers go down Castle Hill at about 10.30 and you can see them again, from very close and playing music. I was there every evening of my stay in Edinburgh. I queued early to have the best view. It made the tatoo last longer for me
Spectacular sight. Is it any wonder this sound led us into battle? A Scot's heart is filled with passion as he goes to meet his foe, his fears allayed by this magical sound. I Know & did it.
My family are welsh, in ww1 Lord Lovett bestowed on us the Name Fraser , when I was born Simon fraser insisted I was called Richard Fraser, so I am the proud barer of a famous name, and listening to the skirl of the pipes and drums, I can imagine what Napoleon thought at Waterloo, it is incredible
Truly a wonderful sight and as i listened to this i remembered my lovelly parent's and how much they would of loved and appreciated this .🏴🏴💕
May the hood Lord bless all of you thank you all so beautiful done and what great respect .regards and thanks god bless you all somone from kent uk 🇬🇧 🙏 🙌 😊 😀 ❤
