just did my FIRST Royal Purple transition a few days ago. I have a 6th gen Camaro and ALWAYS used Mobil 1. Suffice to say, im done with it and am using Royal Purple-HPS now. I noticed an immediate difference after the switch. Engine runs sooooo much smoother, shifts better and actually quited down a bit. Mobil 1 after new oil changes NEVER did that. I should have switch years ago but finally decided to make the switch. I want longevity out of this engine

I absolutely love this stuff!! I have used regular Royal Purple 5w-30 before. And my engine was a lot younger then. Anyway, it's kinda difficult to find, but I scored a deal via Amazon and got a 5-qt 5w-30 HMX jug along with a Mobil 1 extended range filter (I don't honestly know if Mobil 1 makes those older filters anymore; I never see them on the shelf at Advance or Auto Zone). It's been a few months since I changed my oil and filter using the aforementioned; and I can say without irony that my little 4-banger w/125+ k miles on it runs smoother, quieter, and I've even been surprised a few times by how much more HP the engine seems able to give. Believe me, when your brand new tires make any kinda squeal at a stoplight, you get some small excitement. Anyway, I'm going to do so again when the next drain comes due. And I'm betting that it will only improve; or at the least, stay consistent. Nice work; good video. thx brother!!

I use this oil in my 2006 subaru sti and I haven't had any problems so far, I started using it as soon as I bought the car and I had 101,000 km on it then. I change my oil every 5000km and every time I do, I notice a great difference in performance. A year later and I have 132,000 km now and it still runs like a dream.

I have always used Valvoline HM in my 93 ford crown victoria but now that I got a 2004 Cadillac CTS I have been considering using RP in ut especially after price comparing and finding it not that much more. Originally I thought about the XPR formula but I think just because of the mileage and rational thinking I'll probably stick to the HMX formula.

most of the syn oils are the same, except for a few top oils like RP then there is some difference and depends on the particular motor...I was told by a RP rep that they use group 4 and some group 3 as a carrier. That was a few yrs ago.

It's pronounced, "SIN - er - lek" ... kinda like synergy...it's old AF Latin stuff, but there you go... anyway, synergy = SIN - er - gee ... same thing almost always applies whenever you see those syn- prefixes. You're not a stupid man. And the admission of any ignorance denotes intelligence, because more specifically, it denotes curiosity. And curiosity about the world and how it works is the single most important indicator of one's intelligence. Once people stop being curious, they become boring; and they become those mildewed-smelling, nasties ... like people in Congress ...

Currently Running this in my 2000 Acura TL and she loves it, no leaks, no weird noises and runs super smooth. Going to be comparing it with redline when I do my next oil change and compare the analysis results. Also FYI because of the high mileage additives, the API only rates this oil as SL so it's not reccomended to be used in cars from 2004 and up or you could mess up the newer style 02 sensors and catalytic converters if your car is burning oil.

My Toyota Tacoma 3.4 loves this stuff, and now my Corvette C5 with 130,000 miles is gonna get the grape juice too. I've used Mobil 1 High Mileage in that Corvette, but now since Mobil reduced the ZDDP in that oil to meet API SN specs, it's not as good as it used to be. It used to be API SL. HMX is still API SL which means it contains more ZDDP, moly and other additives. I hope Royal Purple isn't forced to "water down" their HMX line to meet API SN. You'll know they did once you see HMX sold everywhere.

I really like how you worded everything. You make it for everyone to understand what you are trying to say. I seen a video of royal purple where they talk about "synerlec" and it is a additive they put in their oil. They say the additive gets attractive to the metal parts for better performance and protection, it also clings on the metal parts even after a long time without driving it. Firestone is cheap from my experience. I don't use them but my sister does with her 2012 Honda Civic and she supposedly gets full synthetic oil, then I did her oil change for her using Valvoline Full Synthetic and she said she felt an immediate difference. Valvoline full synthetic is my personal preference, but it makes me wonder at times if my sister even got what she paid for or if Firestone just put in the cheap conventional oil. Not hating on Firestone but that's what I honestly believe happened.
@skittykitty1000
@skittykitty1000 6 лет назад
Richard Ojeda Firstones standard oil change uses Kendall synthetic blend. Same oil as Ford Motorcraft synthetic blend. It's very good oil. Not as good as full synthetic but about as good as you can get for a standard oil change.

thebestsyntheticoil.com/pdf/TSB%20MO-2010-04-01_chlorine_oil_treatments.pdf definitely do NOT use motorkote, chlorine based lubricants are a scam, theres a reason why chlorine isn't used in real oil, it's a contaminant, not an additive.
