The RS2 or Rims Semblance is a wonderful little pattern designed to mimic a range of little emergers from midges to tricos. It can also be used to represent many other small insects as well and I am hoping that this little variation will tick the box for the small brown mayflies I get on my local rivers. I have been careful to be clear that this is a variation of the RS2 in the title of this video as it is quite different to the pattern Rim Chung designed in the 1970s but still has enough of the same features to fall under the category of an RS2. There are some wonderful videos online of Rim Chung tying the original pattern and I will include this down below as it is worth a watch as well. With that being said I hope you enjoy this video and find the pattern useful.
As mentioned in the clip if you are tying very small flies the best bit of advise I have is to go at it with a plan. Try to use only what you need for each stage of the fly. It is not necessary to use a mountain of dubbing and half a spool of thread to tie these. It is always easier to add more and harder to take materials back once they are on there. So think it through and try to keep it to a minimum with materials and you will end up with nicer finished product.....Well at least that is my thoughts on the matter.

Happy Tying Everyone.
Materilas:
Hook: Tiemco TMC101 (I have used a Kamasan B405 size 18 in filming as anything smaller was well out of the cameras range for filming but they are a good hook for the job as well)
