3060 was on par with a 2070 but has 12gb vram. 4060 worse than 3070 and even 3060ti, but they want you to rely on frame gen to make up for lack of raw performance uplift.
@@IPowder4105FG is the biggest BS in my opinion. Personally, i moved from consoles to get the lower input latency from PCs, but FG adds latency no matter what. I'd rather play 60fps native than 80-90 fps from FG. NGreedia really fooled everyone selling this 4050 and calling it 4060. Negligible improvements over 30 series
Pay attention to the vram usage and ram usage as well 4060 runs put very often at 1440p and has to swap from vram to system ram which will cause stutters depending on how well the game handles it

Although only slightly better on performance, 4060 have almost the same price, have lower power consumption, and quiter fan. It's ofc a win for me. EDIT: After doing some deeper research I found out that 8GB of vram doesn't make sense for new cards. Read my first comment in this thread for more detail.
@@kawan748 I made the first comment before doing a deeper research and now I realized 8GB vram isn't good for futureproofing (not to mention DLSS FG needs free vram too to work as intended) So either is equally good, it really depends on each person's needs or preference Me myself finally decided to took a 4060 Ti 16GB ('cause I like Ada architecture and also need vram for AI workload)
if you are planing to use it on 1080p monitor or a 2k monitor + dlss quality = 1080p the 8gb is enough and the 4060 is clear win , but if you are planning to use a 4k monitor the 3060 with it's 12 gb is so weak to even play 1440p games natively , so the 4060 is the best chose if you can get them for the same price , dlss3 is not the selling point bcs you can have it in both 3000 series or 4000 series , a simple 2 files mod and you are good to go with the same quality .
Doesn't matter that's not how it works. If the VRAM is slow like the 3060s is, then it won't make a difference. 1000mhz slower is a game changer. This is why the 4060 doesn't need 12 GB... People saying games require 12 no. That's not happening in ages at 1080p. These cards are 1080p cards 1440p at the very most

@@garbagepotato evidently have no idea what I just said then lol. I'm telling you rn at 1080p even the 8gb model will outperform any 3060. VRAM is only about half of what a graphics card needs to work. VRAM size is also only half of what vram is. If you've got more vram at a lower speed then it won't make a difference until that extra VRAM needs using. Even then the GPU just uses your normal ram if it all gets used up. Teraflops of gaming performance is another element to gpus as well as compute units and for Nvidia, RT cores. The 4060 has higher specs in all of these compared to the 3060. So no the 3060 is and won't ever be better than a 4060
The rtx 3060 is going to age nicely due to the 12gb of vram and the much larger bus width. Games will use RT more and more commonly, which eats up vram. Same with HQ textures. Already games eat up 12gb of vram just from textures at 1440p in some titles. It will also handle vram heavy tasks better. As for efficiency, its a desktop, not a laptop. Power draw doesn't matter as much. Infact, if nvidia was so concerned with power efficiency, why didn't they just make the 4060 a 160bit 10gb gpu and limit it to 75w? Likely performed similar to its current form but in a 75w envelope. Infact, due to the 4060's low vram, it will struggle to use the very features its advertised on, namely FG since it eats up more vram. 8gb is firmly a xx50 class budget gpu tier of vram amount. 4060 should've had 10gb at BARE MINIMUM. 12gb being the real minimum.
Lol talking about RT. Rtx 3060 can't play games smoothly with RT on. Even with 12 gigs of vram it's losing to Rtx 4060. Vram is important but not everything lol.

Good video Gpu power is more important than gpu vram If you have low vram you can still run a game but if you have weak gpu you cannot run game or with low fps

@@muhammadomerjune1994 well thats just wrong. It holy depends on the game. A game like halo infinte just compresses textures if ypur vram is not enough which ypu dont notice on fps but quality. In games like the last of US the game runs VERY poorly and crashes constantly. So it also is a limiting factor.

4060 is newer and better, people are complaining because they own a 3060 and in the $300 tier which is what they can afford it's not a huge upgrade but if you have a much older gpu or not even a gaming system currently you will enjoy it for the price tbh.

@@drummer7557 I have a Series S too and a Series X . And both of them cant match a 3060 , not even close , specially with RT On . But they are good as consoles . Series S usually upscales from 720p , Series X from 1080p
While it's pretty obvious the 4060 is one of the less impressive updates ever, with a 5-10% improvement over rtx 3060 for a similar price, but at least it draws 110 watts vs. 160 watts. So while certainly not a cool improvement, it's something; it may end up being cheaper than a 3060 after a couple years, when power is considered. Maybe calling it 4050ti would have made more sense.
These cards are certainly not designed for 1440p gaming, go for the 6700 10gb or 6700XT and you'll see way better results. Which is a shame because they're older. Hell this isn't much better than what the Series S does for $300. Good comparison though.
I don't know where the problem is, but in all these games I'm getting higher performance on the RTX 4060 Low profile with a much worse CPU. E.g. Horizon Zero Dawn - yes - I forced DLAA and I got 80fps max in 1440p there with no problem. Without DLSS that would boost my frames even more.
I think I get similar fps with a 1070 in Cyberpunk 2077... Although these cards ought to be significantly better. And my main bottleneck there is the CPU, a non-overclockable 4 core i5 6500. Causing stuttering and not even full utilization of the GPU. (I think sometimes as low as 50%... Because the engine is crap at using more cores than 2 or even 1, if it's a 4 core, it just refuses to use more... a huge issue that doesn't even get complaints, unlike any other meaningless crap. Maybe fixing this would automatically take down the game as one of the most demanding... Which doesn't solve the mystery of why these cards are so )
For years to come i think we need super computer just to play modern games on low settings. Seing this high end graphic cards shitty like this is ridiculous.
bruv, if you bothered to look. There is a 1080p Video with these cards..... With the right settings you can play 1440p comfortably, not everyone shares 'your preference' in graphics.
If you use the rtx 4060 in 1440p then it’s gomna be like 40-60 if you use it in 1080p then you can run it like up to 100 fps it’s good on 1080p but 1440 p is still playable
3060 vs 4060 consumes 50% more electricity and is also 15% weaker, this is garbage guys... and the price is the same for the cards. 3060 buy only who not have motherboard with pci-express 4.0.
Yeah but fsr sucks. If only amd had better upscaling method or technologies like nvidia. They are always one step behind & trying to catch up to nvidia.
@@hibutamu4884 6700XT performs better than the 3060 with DLSS quality plus at 1080p, I personally wouldn't upscale at all, looks horrible. There's no reason to buy a 3060/4060 over this
@@Farisss11 No it doesnt lol. It just depends on the game. In Uncharted for example, FSR looks better than DLSS. It is up to developers to make good use of the tech they have. Ill give it to you that it does definitely look worse at 1080p though. But to be honest, if I could choose, I wouldnt use either because they still are a visual downgrade and I can tell the difference between upscaling and native 9 times out of 10.
I intend to buy the rtx 3060 instead of the rtx 4060 beacuse of the low vram that Basically kills the card for me who is upgrading from a rx 580 8gb vram (my dad also got a rtx 3060 and it can run spider man miles morales in 4K ray tracing at 60 fps using dlss of course)
Neither are 1440p cards, for newer games. Old ones, not to shabby, though the 4060 runs smoother to my eyes. The 3060 is laggy/jerky in many titles. Best for 1080p gaming. Even with the extra VRAM.

playin on 1440p ultra settings + rtx + dlss quality in most games, it goes pretty well not gonna lie of course it's not like 90fps everywhere, but fair 50-60 frames is more than enough to me for that price imo
playing on 1440p + dlss with 50 fps means you cant play any game with 60+ all of the time at native 1080. Both cards are complete garbage and inferior to 7600 xt. At least 3060 was a very good gpu when it released unlike that trash 4060.
@@notenjoying666 7600 XT is more expensive than 4060. aside from the 16GB advantage it is mostly on par with 4060 in performance. that's why in it's price range 6700 is more popular.
