Hey I am doing reviews as well so if you like come and check them out :) I upload new Videos every Sunday and you might want to sub and like to not miss out on any
That's actually a serious point, a LOT of cards have gone to reviewers and if you count all of them, well, the no. of cards these reviewers have if most probably higher than the no. that was sold to people in a lot of places.

Just the fact that the 3070 is able to compete against or beat a flagship top tier card like the 2080 Ti from the previous generation is amazing. I'm using a 2070 that I got in like January because my previous 980 Ti died. I wish it lasted long enough for me to want to upgrade from it, but I'm okay with the 2070 for now. I hope the 4000 series in the next 3-4 yrs is as much of an upgrade as the 3000 to 2000 series was. That, or maybe by then AMD Radeon gpus will catch up finally like the CPUs did with Ryzen. Only time will tell!
I love your high quality content Dave. I have watched your videos for such a long time, and I just love the simplicity; no loud or flashy intros, no big setup, etc.. Keep it up. Also love the Among Us meme in the beginning.
I was able to pick up one for 539 euro. I was on back-order for just 12 days and suddenly it was delivered to my front door (One of the lucky few who got one It seems). This card got me into 1440P gaming and I feel like this card at the original price point would have been that portal into higher resolution gaming for a lot of people. like steam surveys say most people still play 1080p, but this card could have changed it, if it would be available. It makes me hopeful and scared as to what GPUs will become in the future. I now have a gpu I could have only dreamed of 5 years ago at a price point unthinkable. I can only imagine what a 3060ti or even an RTX4000 series would mean to some people, to have even more raw graphics power for that same $500 or even less. Of course you can also imagine that games will start looking a lot better (except for Ubisoft titles of course) and we will see more and more features like ray tracing and this will all become more affordable.
Dave Lee lives in paralel universe where you can buy rtx 3070 for 500$ in stores!! that cards anyway will be not enough for new upcoming games because of too less vram!!infact on medium it will be relative good
8gigs of GDDR6? Thats actually more than enough for the games Im going to be playing. I’ve been using a GTX 970 with only 4gigs for the last 5 years. Can’t wait to get my hands on this card.
A lot of people don’t realize the fact that this card is meant to be targeting 1440p at 60 FPS with rtx on. So I don’t see the vram as a problem. Just like the Xbox series s. The series s has 8.2 gb of usable ram for visuals and it’s bandwidth is at 256 gb per second. The reason why it’s low is because it’s meant to be targeting 1080p 30 FPS or 1080p 60 FPS with ray tracing for the most intensive next generation games. If u wanna play at 4K go for the ps5 or the series x or the 3080. It’s that simple. Lower resolutions don’t need that much bandwidth nor the amount of ram in for 1080p gaming on series s and 1440p gaming on rtx 3070. And that’s also with ray tracing on.
Hey Dave great video. Just a suggestion, maybe you could change the aspect ratio of your videos to fit taller screens, considering most phones nowadays have that tall ratio. Cheers.
I don't know about this 8GB vram thing. My 1070 I currently own has 8GB. Going forward I expected a jump in vram as I game at 1440p and going forward games don't suddenly use less. Who would want a card that will eventually suffer as games require more vram? Want an example of this? Look up an RTX 2060 running watch dogs (the newest). The 6GB vram buffer prevents you from maxing out the game w/o losing performance due to memory limitations on the card. The 2080ti is looking more appealing now with that 11GB.
@@officerminiwheats bruh, go look at the benchmarks. when it comes to normally gaming, rx 6800 is better than rtx 3070. but with ray tracing and dlss on, rtx 3070 performs better, and in some cases it performs way better in Ray tracing with dlss. Rx 6800 is also $80 costlier so it makes both cards very equal. it depends more on the buyer, if someone cares a lot about ray tracing then they should go for Nvidia and of someone wants a big vram (16GB in rx6800), faster clock speeds and higher FPS without ray tracing then they should go for AMD. I guess AMD will bring out something like DLSS in future.
I mean Among Us has been used by companies to promote their high end gaming laptops on official adverts in my country. I was in total disbelief when I saw that.
There is no such thing as a $500 RTX 3070. The few sellers that have any of the 3000 series cards charge far over MSRP, and the stores that claim to sell it for MSRP DO NOT HAVE ANY, and have no idea when they will get some. Furthermore, NVidia lies nonstop about it.
Honestly, I am not a tech guy nor I am interested in tech reviews. I am here only to hear your voice, which I find somehow so shooting. In fact, I sometimes play your videos on background while working. Probably, thanks (?), I guess? Lol
I'm number 90 in the queue for my 3070 so hoping I get mine this side of Christmas. I wish you review people would do some opinion/test pieces with VR performance in mind :)
Just came from the AMD radeon 6000 event. Hopefully those benchmark tests are accurate enough for the 6800 to go against the 3070 because if so, those are really stellar performance results. Either way, both these cards made the 2080ti a lesser value from either perspective.
