the 3070 at least here in the eu isn‘t hard to get. i‘ve ordered mine 2 days ago and it should arrive tomorrow. there‘s multiple stores who got them in stock right now.. different story with the 3080‘s and 3090‘s
fr if u want a rtx 3070 rn but cant get it cuz its sold out just buy a 2080ti everyones selling it rn for like $450-$500 cuz they want to buy the new one
Why though? If someone is using a 2080ti for the past two years then they got their money's worth. Even now a 2080ti sells for 600$ at minimum and add few extra bucks u can swing for a 3080. Damn good deal I say.
@@silmupelaa6349 I got lucky, refreshed random local store and they got one Gigabyte Gaming OC model, insta bought lol, should be here in 3 days. Looking FW to upgrade my 4y old GTX 1080
@@barbrose4987 basically I was saying in French this guys who has a Fortnite avatar is a hater who has probably a cheap GC. (Sorry if my English is bad I’m French lmao)
It does have much more stock compared to both 3080 and 3090 combined but it still wasn't enough to appeal the huge demand of gamers upgrading. To be honest i expect that the same thing will happen to RDNA 2 on November. I'd be happily to be proven wrong though..
Idk, I bought mine from a scalper, and it was still around half the price for a 2080ti this year. Some of them only charge a $100 premium, so it's not too bad. Obviously some people are adamant that it stay at msrp, in which case, they'll have to deal with a lot of waiting.
It doesn't beat it, it's literally a much cheaper same performing card with lower vram, specs wise the 2080ti is better, but overpriced to mars and back
Notice how the 3070 is consuming 50w less power and running 3-4 degrees Celsius cooler than 2080ti. The CPU is also running cooler and consuming less power with 3070 as well. This is just better for longevity of your hardware
@@kiyanharchegani2588 You’re missing the point. A 3070 can achieve the same performance as a 2080ti without working as hard. If it doesn’t have to work as hard to achieve the same results, it should be able to do it for longer.
@@Imjeezus yeah if all the parameters were the same maybe but theyre not... theyre different cards DESIGNED to operate at different wattages. id take the card with higher TDP headroom anyway for better OC
I'm so happy I managed to get myself a 3070. And fun fact, here in New Zealand, there's actually still a few in stock you can get. Unfortunately for some of you, the store doesn't ship internationally. F.
new game engines make a difference not so much resolution wise. my experience of a 4k tv and 1080p monitor. New games look just as good in 1080p as my 4k tv.
Im amazed I got an order on a 3070 gaming x trio in, and my friend who's been stuck on his intel intergrated graphics snagged a second hand 2080 ti gaming x trio, great to see we'll be having the same experience.
I'd also like to add that every game is run at max settings in 4k. At first I thought it's 1440p and I was so disappointed in both of these cards. Turns out 3070 is a monster for it's price and 3070 TI runs 4k on medium-high (not necessarily ultra and without ray tracing) with 60 fps without problems
@@osiris7402 lol i guess if your after newer games, i believe 4 and 5k series will last little bit longer, the dlss/fsr/rtx tech are still new dont think there will be any new soon
WOW. So this Gens bottom teir is on par with or out performs last gens top teir card. Its funny now that the 3070 has released, new egg and the others still havent dropped the prices of the 2080 ti yet.
We must remember that the 30 series is not as optimized in terms of drivers or updates as the 20 series. So if the 3070 manages to equalize a 2080 from the beginning without the DLSS, you will see that after 3 months from the release they will already be far superior even to the 2080.
I feel you, I bought an EVGA 2080 ti FTW 3 Ultra a few months ago for €1100 new, could've waited a little bit for a new 3090 or AMD card which will be even better.
Update from February 2021 / it's better to buy the 2080 ti because: 1 there's literally no way to get a 3070 and 2 if you get one, it'll be more expensive than the 2080 ti but with 3 Gb of less vram (they're now around $1250 - $1300, the cheaper ones)
Can you explain why? I'm in the middle of trying to upgrade from a 1080 and everywhere I go, the 2080to outperforms the 3070, is cheaper to buy and can be found on the used market. (Canada) is there a reason why the rtx 2080ti is not a good choice?
@@SpetsnazSevorneya i'll just tell you this: I'm playing Metro Exodus on my 2080 Ti with the recommended setting for the 3090 at 4k full raytracing, it runs at 60fps pretty much 99% of the time
@@auro8649 I've been waiting more than a month for rtx 3070 to buy it for exactly $500.. I'm thinking about buying a used 2080 ti for the same price, what do you think?
@@abdelrahmanashraf4629sadly u will wait longer than a month for this price. I think we can expect human pricings within jan or february. I was also thinking about this but the prices for 2080ti also increased now its more like 650-950 here and this is used condition haha..I feel really bad for this but we need to have more patience I guess. The rtx 3th gen is definitely improvent over rtx 2000
2080ti released three years nine months ago, almost. 3070 has been out for 1 1/2 years. 30 series was a major leap in performance, but this is an interesting analysis because 3070s were almost impossible to find during the crypto boom, where those who bought 2080 ti's could at least game for the last 3 years, in 4K (sorta) and at 1440p (amazingly well.)
@@johnhicks8626 um I don't think you explained it good sir? The MSRP for 2080ti is 1000 bucks while the 3070 is 500. Regardless of that the 3080ti MSRP is 1100. The reason the price to performance difference exists here is because the 3070 is not the upgrade of the 2080ti and the games that are being tested here are games that came out closer to the time of the 2080tis release. Of course the 3070 will perform this well on much older games, but if it was being compared to a 2070 which is also 500 bucks the price to performance difference would make a lot more sense. The 3070 is designed to run new gen games while the 2080ti will probably fall far behind while trying to run new gen.
the rtx 2080 ti was the top of the rtx 20s series so it was obviously priced alot more than the rtx 3070 that is behind in performance than 3080 in the 3090
because 2080 ti was the best nvidia could make at that time but 3070 come out later with more powerful architecture and its not the best nvidia can make at that time they do better performance with 3080 3090 etc. thus 2080 ti was more expensive than 3070 despite having similar(near) performance
For 2 weeks ago I got one non functioning 2080 ti where I know the fault and its easily fixed, for $300 incl. tax and international shipping, so no I don't complain. You won't get a 3070 broken for even near that sum, and its also have much less memory.
So, you wont get 4K with 3070 on some games due to less VRAM, but, considering most of the people who would buy this card wont play at 4K, I think its good
Im just glad I am so poor that I don’t have to deal with how nvidia manipulates high end graphics card owners, specifically 2080 ti. That’s at least one benefit to being poor 😂
3070 has lower power usage, but the 2080 ti is more functional due to a vaguely appropriate amount of VRAM. I’ve seen several games tank at 4K on the 3070, and the 4070 isn’t even out yet. That’s dogcrap longevity Nvidia. Hopefully the 4060 offers similar performance with at least 12GB VRAM.
@Rute Fernandes Bro. I agree. And to think Nvidia is aiming for performance-per-dollar stagnation with RTX-4000. Hopefully they at least use a 12GB frame buffer on the RTX 4070 Ti/4070/4060.
Just bought a 3 month old 2080ti for $600. Also registered it on evga for warranty, since the seller had the receipt when he bought it on best buy. Overall not bad considering it cost almost the same as a 3070 msrp with taxes. Especially since its gonna be another scalped card for who knows how long..
Thankyou for testing this with an affordable setup. All the other videos on here have the best possible setup then they switch one thing out and test it.
Yes, because that's the proper way to test a gpu. You need the rest of the hardware to be beefy so that you don't have bottlenecks elsewhere and your gpu numbers are correct.
@@CarlzoneN Yes and that difference mostly goes for the 2080ti, 2080 ti it's Stiller a bit better, I guess the 3070 is faster only in other tasas that are not gaming.
@@obsessedplayer1208 Almost the same yes, and just to clarify, I don't care wich of these GPUs is better, I just hate the smoke Nvidia sells when they tell you "faster" when it's actually the same thing. only "cheaper".
I'm reading a bunch of comments in here with the same crap meme : "2080ti owners are crying." News flash suckers, i own a 2080ti, and if there's anything that feel like doing when i think about my GPU, it's definitely laugh with joy and smile, not cry. Both cards have roughly the same performances, though if you check on GPUboss, you'll see that the 2080ti has a slight edge. But here's the kicker : I bought my 2080ti roughly 1.5 year before the 3070 gets released. That's 1.5 year during which i got to play and truly enjoy the most demanding games at max settings and load them up with extreme mods when other people couldn't. There's a reason why my friends were hanging out at my place to play those games instead of the other way around. Their shitty ass PCs couldn't handle them. And yes, time has value. Not only that, but between Covid and crypto maniacs buying all the GPUs out there for their mining operations, there's a huge shortage of 3070 everywhere around the world. At least 5 or 6 of my friends wanted to upgrade to a 3070 since they couldn't aford the 2080ti, and guess what? None in stock. They got stuck for a while with no upgrade. So between the time i got to enjoy my 2080ti before the 3070 even comes out, and the shortage of 3070 around the world, who's laughing now? lol If you couldn't figure it out by yourselves, let me help : it's the 2080ti owners. And i'm still laughing to this very day! 3070 owners, glad you got your upgrade.... finally lol. But the joke's on you :)
You couldn't have said better man! Even the "perfect" 3070 ti is a big joke! It could have at least 10gb buffer, because 8gb at 4k is on the knife's edge! I wanted to get the 2080 ti too after the 3070 hype, but in my country 3090 and 2080 ti are looong gone!! At least I got a radeon 6600XT and most people say it is trash, but my variant has close to 2080 super performance!!! Even the 2060 was 100 more euros than this radeon! Long live your 2080 ti man! Probably the last great card from Nvidia, apart from the high MSRP, it was the fastest card until 3000 series, with enough memory as well!
@@leeham6230 They should have revealed the RX 6700 XT even if it is slightly weaker than 3070 as long as it is $400 or under with 12 - 16gb Vram i would have taken it over a RTX 3070 and RX 6800.
@@pcxgaming44 It's not always about performance, 2080Ti would remain the high-end $1300 GPU that everyone wanted but only few had, while the 4070 is just a cheap mid-tier card. I wouldn't even say that it is faster. My 2080ti pushes 2025-2040 Mhz steady. Looks a bit borked to make the 3070 even better. Not saying that the 3070 isn't better. Either way, I am happily gaming.
@@jeremyurday37 If you are buying now, the 3000 series is the way to go, when they become available. I was just stating that the 2080ti seems low on the boost clock and the performance margin would be slightly smaller, or in favor of the 2080ti.
