Probably one of the most underrated and overlooked lure is the humble rubber eel such as a Redgill or Eddystone eel. It is very cheap, easy to rig up, and can be deadly for Bass, Mackerel, and Pollock.
fish with these for pollock, white body red head; outfishes any lure i've ever used. can cover loads more water too and if fishing with braid you can bounce them out of most snags. cuts through tide to get down the deepest marks with loads of tide pull, or light lead to skim near the top. amazing lures! the action is more of a shimmer which is more sandeel like in presentation rather than jumping up and down which the pollock seem to shy away from
I bought 2 pack of red gill opriginal 115mm eels. It was impossible to thread the hook through the eel. Total waste of my money and time. I can not recommend; I wasted my money. It would be better if this company threaded the eels for you. Very dissapointed.
