Hi there, thanks so much for sharing these tips! Super useful! Just wondering why the newer leaves that grew out since I brought the plant home to my environment are thinner than the old leaves? Is this due to insufficient light or insufficient watering? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

A lot of times it's just the fact that it came from a perfect amazing greenhouse with tons of soft light, high humidity, and an automatic mister. Haha! I wouldn't worry too much. As long as you're seeing consistent new growth (other than during winter dormancy), then your plant should be doing just fine and you are doing just fine! 😊

Very informative video. Can you grow a rubber tree in Leca?

Hmm... I haven't personally tried this plant in Leca. I'll let you know if I find anything out!

This s the very first time I have watched your video it’s beautiful. I have a burgundy rubber tree and also a ruby both has 3 leaves on it plus it has one starting it looks like. I had it for about 8 months . I took it out of the nursery pot a week ago. Soaked it in warm water in the sink , gave it a shower cleaned the leaves off once again it’s been drying out for a week. Now it’s time to repot it. I have miracle grow and perlite thinking about using that. Would that be ok for both plants am I doing the right things for the plants. Thank you so much.

That would be fine for the rubber plants. Some people are against miracle grow but I'd say the majority of people use it and it is just fine for your plants 😊

I have a 60 yr old rubber tree that a client gifted me. Its obnoxious and i want to take some branches off and plant those. I have no clue what im doing though. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could take a few cuttings, dry them out for a day or so and put them in some water to propagate 😊

Just stumbled on this video and I'm so confused. Most every article I've seen/read and other videos say to give the burgandy lots of light to keep the leaves dark but you say keep in lower light...???😮‍💨 Why such a big contrast in the information? I can clearly see your plant is gorgeous and dark so it must work for you. I'm SO CONFUSED!!!😫
@thegirlwithashovel
@thegirlwithashovel 5 месяцев назад
I'm sorry for the confusion. My leaves are nice and dark in the lower light, but I also don't have much growth on it. If you want more growth, then you're going to need to have brighter light for it. 😊
@SLee-vc9gd
@SLee-vc9gd 5 месяцев назад
@@thegirlwithashovel I'll have to give the lower light a try. My leaves are not as dark and it's in a south west window and loves it for growth but it's a nice size so I think I'll focus on getting them back to dark. Thanks!!

Same for me, I want a really dark rubber plant, like the beautiful one in the video. All other sources underline it has to be high light, but it works well for me if I can put it in a medium light. I'm still researching before I bring one home. Thanks for the video
