Rudder Line Adjustment for Hobie Kayaks 

How about a video on how to replace the rudder lines on the twist and stow type rudders? They are older and probably more of them are breaking than these newer type rudders.

Can u put your hand through this hole to put on a backingplate for anchor trolley? Even if u leave the lines on?

Do a rudder tension control knob (boa) replacement video... After 5 years mine fell apart and I have no control over tension now

Can you steer a stern mount trolling motor by attaching lines there?

Thank you for the video, actually helped me fix my rudder. Nothing like the security of a $2500.00 kayak being controlled by couple strings...Please use some wrapped marine wire next or something, anything but string,,, maybe its a braid, still.

- after replacing the rudder bracket mount - it snapped. It will not steer. I was trying to tighten the black line where you pull your the rudder… but for some reason my steering handles are not steering at all. I want doing circles in the river. Since buying this pro angler 12 2016 it has been an issue every time I take it out. Going on three different times taking it out. First time I got out after 2 mins. Second time i paddled with my arms because the steering does not work. So i address a broken part and it’s still not working. For this much money- why does it have so many issues?

Hey Hobie! We have questions. I have not seen a single answer from you, when in fact you asked for more Questions. What gives? We bought your product, with no dealer nearby we, as Hobie Owners need this to solve problems we are having. So , now what?

i have a pa 14 2015. it always feel like its not turning in the right direction. what can i do to fix that. ie i turn to the right and it goes straight but off to the left.

A pic of the rudder would have been nice so we could identify if the model is the same as ours.

It would probably be more helpful if you showed what you're talking about. You mentioned tightening the strings and moving handles but the camera didn't show it.

(Update: OK, YOU MUST LINE UP THE SEAT-so the screw can reach the hole… would have been a lot easier if you show what that looks like. How hard would that be? Knowing you had to dub in a disclaimer-weak as it is. Do better Hobie.) WARNING: THEY’VE DUBBED INTO THE VIDEO LATER DON’T TAKE THAT SPOOL PLATE OFF! Man, if you pull that plate off… impossible to screw it back down!!! I heard them dub over that add on about making small adjustments, no need to open. Should have known better-they added it for a reason. WTF?! Should be an urgent warning NOT to open it. I can’t get screw in the hole! Wow, really Hobie? 2020 Outback and that’s the best design you can give us?

Are you kidding me? First he says the lines may be affected by varying temps….hello…it’s a damn kayak. Then has to be the worst tutorial on how to adjust….guess they want to force 😮you to a dealer for outrageous repairs

Hobies are a joke! I have a 12 and 14 ft 360 fishing kayaks ...NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!!!!
