Very generous of the author to share his work on here, I'm thoroughly enjoying it, though last night I barely slept a wink, I'd like to recommend a couple of other books of similar genre, One Second After, One Year Aftet and The Last Day, these books deal with an EMP attack and a Chinese invasion and The Last Tribe, this one deals with the aftermath of a plague, but is a much more optimistic story.

Book one popped up on my Home Screen a few month ago. I kept passing it up. However, a few days ago, I finally gave it a chance. Well, needless to say, here I am, binge listening to this spectacular story. Great job to the author for drawing in the reader/listener and making you bond with the characters. And awesome job to the narrator for giving each character a distinct liveliness, making them real🥰

After several years it seems unbelievable that no one was in the least bit curious about the hidden mountain fortress. Did the Chinese destroy it? Or did they just drop a few ineffectual bombs on the mountain and give up? I’d have sent a small group to look it over at least.

I couldn't wait to get back to it, it literally felt like I was part of that community and living it with them. I felt as though I belonged there and I missed them like you do family! Did the author forget that Indigo didn't run for another term on the council? Jamal put his name in the hat and was selected along with the other two, Luke and Isaac. So Indigo shouldn't have been voting "guilty" against those on trial...it should've been Jamal and the other two.

I kind of think Luke would have been had he had the chance, but that calm easy going attitude definitely became one of his attributes later or especially in this part of the story when things aren't very calm and easy going. It'd be real cool to think we had someone that matter of factly truthful and always or most always of a steady head in our lead.... No??

This is a great story. I enjoy how the author keeps bringing in a new way to keep a person interested in his story. I don't understand why they didn't go after Ash in the beginning when he was alone. They have allowed him to grow and continue to kill. I am surprised that since they knew that Ash would one day come they have not already had a fall back location. Indigo and the other girls who are against killing murders are weak. Gassing is hardly a painless and kind execution. Our local shelter used a gas chamber and the animals didn't gently fall asleep and die.

Indigo was supposed to have been in the basement with the other females and kids ..waiting to hear the call all clear..how did she get to end of the drive with baby max and so quick and why ?She hadn't been told the danger was over..massive oversight by Author or was he just resting on his laurels and hoping we wouldn't notice and or care..I DO,! I really enjoid this series..but can't finish the last lap because of the Indigo oversight..shame I can't get that 30 plus hours back would have been one of the better post apocalyptic too..oh well ..never mind.better luck next time..

I hope this book is designed to be only entertainment and not a "how to" book. Almost every choice the characters make are wrong and are directly responsible for their troubles. The characters don't learn for their mistakes. I find myself shaking my head at their stupidity.

I do not understand how the survivors were able to gather up lots of humvees, machine guns by the cases, even rocket launchers and grenades: but not one set of hand held radios and no CB radios?! So the Chinese left all that military hardware including rocket launchers but took every two way radio and CB radio in the state?!

i love this story and mainly because of the way you tell it but the ads are so annoying.also I've listened to everything bit of your stories..and can't wait for more..I really like the characters..and the many voices you put in to it all.is excellent..please tell some more stories..with these characters if possible..if not..just tell them..your awesome. :)

I really enjoy listening to this series and am very greatful to Mr Medbury for making it accessible for everybody!!! The only thing I feel a bit irritated about is the role modelling portrayed... Girls into the kitchen and taking care of the children... Isn't that a bit outdated nowadays? Look at the Ukraine, 50 000 women serving, of them roughly 10 000 are on the front line. That is the only thing that bothers me of this series, other than that, thanks for some great action, some chuckles and lot's of entertainment!!!

I find that comment odd, although I know it is a common one. My brother is a very conservative person and I’m the leftist progressive in our family. He is against capital punishment and I am a supporter of it. His attitude comes from his faith that holds only God can make a decision about death. I, on the other hand, feel that some people lose their membership card in the human race after committing certain crimes and that society has a responsibility to remove them permanently from the rest of us.

While there is some merit in destroying material that could aid the enemy, it made no sense to waste such a potent and limited resource on destroying a building. Silly choice which bite them in the ass later. ...and why invite people to stay behind after blowing up the house? Double silly.

This series has been brilliant.,but it's all just been spoiled by indigo appearing with the baby ..when she was in the basement with all the other females and children..and stops Justice..OK so she takes the baby out of the basement walks all the way up the drive "TO THE GATE" and stops a perfectly justified execution..? THAT WAS A VERY SILLY WAY AND PERFECT WAY TO SPOIL THE WHOLE BOOK SERIES..AND ITS OVER 30 HOURS I CANT GET BACK ...THANKS..
