Breakthrough & Conquer: The contender must face two Gladiators in this two-part event. First, they need to score a touchdown against the first Gladiator. Then the contender must wrestle the second Gladiator, forcing them to step outside of a ring.

ABOUT AMERICAN GLADIATORS:
Welcome to the official channel of American Gladiators, home of patriotic spandex and giant cotton swabs.
Beginning in 1989 for 8 seasons, this competition swept America. Two men and two women compete against each other and a roster of "American Gladiators". Events included, The Assault, Joust, The Wall, Breakthrough and Conquer, Hang Tough, Powerball, and many others, all culminating in the final event, "The Eliminator", a difficult obstacle course race. Every season there is a tournament to determine its "Grand Champion". For two seasons, there was an "International" competition taped in England where the champions from 4-6 countries competed similarly.

I disliked laser but i think he has a bigger beef here than turbo. In the breakthrough he did step to the side before he lowered his shoulder. I think that should be enough to count as a move because he didn’t try to just run straight over him. Turbo got caught flat footed and the official bailed him out. But laser is actually right. I think the ref just gave that one to the contender because he felt bad about the first ruling.

Funny they disqualified him for a move and truck but the gladiators were always cool grabbing by the neck and throwing you out because that's safe lol...turbo got his feeling hurt because my man ran him over like a child

Yep. I'm sure Lace would be very interested to hear of this rule. Guess they only enforce it for Turbo cuz I've never seen it come into play before or after this episode.

The contestant went almost out of bounds so he definitely made a move to the left. Now in Conquer he did have his foot out so there was a beef there but seeing as how the Gladiators were all on roids I think he evened the playing field a bit

Yeah I get that one. Then again, with the first contender Laser nearly poked his eye out, than grabbed either side of the man's head with his hands - and that was somehow legal. Meanwhile, Turbo was just mad that he didn't get to use one of his questionable tactics (i.e. a horsecollar tackle) to take down the guy. Honestly, the more I watch these old videos the more I notice how dirty Turbo plays.

By "making a move", they mean trying to avoid the gladiator to get to the end zone. It doesn't have to be a foot plant or stutter step necessarily; take a look at Carolyn Dean from season 4. Stiff-arm is also OK. When you go right for the gladiator and run into him to overpower, that's where the issue comes into play. The spirit of the rule is safety of both competitors, which is why it was rules as NG in Breakthrough, but OK in Conquer, seeing how after the clock starts the contender could take the step back to attempt to gain some leverage.

Although it is entertainment, the hazards are real, and the contestants and gladiators take real risks, endure unimaginable pain, and put their bodies, their careers, and their lives on the line. These Gladiators were all on juice and he beat them in both events. Contestant won both events but gladiators were mad that they lost.

being on roids doesn't mean you will be better than athletes who do certain things.. it just means youll be at your max ability whatever that is if a fat lazy fuck takes gear.... and goes up against a D1 wrestler who is clean.... the wrestler wins 100/100 times gear just helps people get to their next level

I got an idea for that problem with the conquer ring: get a bigger circle. It's not quite big enough for both Gladiator and contender. But I do agree that the contenders' feet must stay in the ring before the start, just to be fair.
