In this video I'm comparing the volume and sound of my Dead Air Sandman-S MIL Contract, and my Otter Creek Labs Hydrogen-S 7.62 suppressors with my 220gr subsonic handloads.
I am shooting them on my new Ruger American Ranch 16" .300 Blackout that uses AR15 (stanag) magazines. It is mostly all stock...For now. But I have swapped in an Anarchy Outdoors threaded bolt handle, and fluted bolt knob. I am also running a Dead Air KeyMo brake on it, but I plan on swapping to a much lighter JMac Customs 360 KeyMicro brake soon, to keep weight off the front to balance it better.
The scope is a new Primary Arms SLx 1-10x28 SFP LPVO with a 34mm tube and a true 1x on the low end. It features the ACSS Griffin M10S MIL reticle, which I am becoming a big fan of. The glass in this scope is very clear and bright for it's price-point. The illumination features 9 regular settings, and 2 night vision settings and is daylight-bright. I mounted it in some spare Arken 34mm Low (0.92") HALO rings that I had sitting around still in the package. It also has an Arken 34mm bubble level on it (not pictured).
The Dead Air Sandman-S MIL-Contract is the same as the regular Sandman-S, but with an FDE finish and a MIL serial number. It is a 6.8" long x 1.500" OD suppressor made from a fully-welded Stellite baffle stack, with a solid 17-4 stainless steel tube, welded on both ends, and a welded-on KeyMo mount. It has NO barrel length restrictions, and is full-auto rated up to .300 WinMag. It is a hard-use suppressor designed for low back pressure and heavy usage.
The Hydrogen-S (7.62 version) is a 7" long x 1.625" OD suppressor made of solid titanium and weighting a mere 9.5 oz without a mount. It had HUB 1.375x24 universal mount threads to allow you to use just about any mounting system you want/already have. It is LIMITED full-auto rated up to 800ºF, then let it cool down before using it again. And it does have certain barrel length restrictions that are listed on their website, linked below. And, according to their website, was tested to be a hearing-safe 137 dB on a 16” 308, with a BK 2209 sound meter.
I get all of my suppressors, tax stamps, and trusts through Silencer Shop.
** Disclaimer** This video was filmed at my local FFL/SOT machine gun range, which is a professional environment, and has a licensed full-time NRA-certified R.O. and an enclosed firing area. I am also licensed and professionally trained to handle firearms. All firearms safety precautions were utilized during the filming of this video. This video is for entertainment purposes only.

I appreciate the straight forward video! Not listening to 20 minutes of opinions and sponsorship plugs was pretty dang nice!

THANKS! That's exactly why I started making these and doing them the way I do them. I have zero sponsors, and no need to drum on and on about some product and how "amazing" it is, and why you should buy it. I buy all this stuff with my own money, and share it with the world to help others make an informed decision on whether or not to buy it, and if they like how it's going to sound on their rifles. I try to get accurate audio, but occasionally (in some of the older videos...Old phone), the audio kinda sucked, but most all of the new videos made with my iPhone 11 Pro Max and now 14 Pro Max sound MUCH more accurate and realistic. Also, I found that most suppressor videos were lying to folks, and have had the audio clipped so it makes the suppressor sound SUPER quiet, when in reality, even the quietest suppressors with subsonic ammo (.300 BLK) on a centerfire rifle cartridge still sounds about as loud as (and similar to) a large pneumatic framing nailer. I wanted folks to realize that Hollywood and most of these "experts" videos has been lying to them, and "silencers" don't actually silence anything. They SUPPRESS the sound about as much as a good set of earplugs/ear pro does. Enough to help reduce hearing damage to a minimal. Thanks for the views, and feel free to hit the like buttons and subscribe, and to share the videos with others.

Nice ! I just got a box of Berry's 220s and watching and looking for best results. I have both bolt and Semi. New subscriber for ya. Show the target next time, maybe when you get back home just a clip of it at the end would be nice! The can sounds like it working excellent , I get that is what this was about, but U could show the load and target might help some interested folks.

Do you have plans do compare a Polonium K with other cans in its category?

No, I’m not really a fan of K-cans…Especially on extremely loud and hard to suppress cartridges, like the 5.56. I will be getting a regular size Polonium very soon. It should be arriving in early 2023. I’m very excited. It will most-likely be dedicated to my 14.5” M4 5.56. I do, however, think I will be getting one K-can for my collection. And that will be a Hydrogen-K 6.5mm dedicated for my 6.5 Grendel DMR only. Reason being, because it’s SUPER light, low backpressure, and it’s the same basic size as a full-length Polonium so it’s really quiet, but is offered in a 6.5mm bore, which will make it quieter than a .30 caliber K-can on the same gun.

@@TroyPosey That's awesome. I've heard good things about the full size Polonium. The reason I ask is because in a home defense situation I'm not looking for ultimate suppression, but just enough to not go instantly deaf on the first shot. And since K cans are lighter and more maneuverable, in my use case it's a better option. I agree, 5.56 is a bitch to suppress. I already own some 30 cal cans but I'm looking into getting my first 5.56 can.

@@jbh759 Well, the regular Polonium is already really short, I think under 6”, so that’s already very optimized for CQB…But, to each their own. And yeah, the Polo-K will probably be about on par with a Sandman-S in volume, so that will probably be alright for a couple quick shots inside, to avoid blowing your eardrums out.
