That was an excellent, fluid, video ! Sold. Now, if I could just figure out how to lessen the super loud click of the safety. Loudest safety I've ever heard. Thanks again.
Thanks for emphasizing checking the chamber. I see so many people that just cycle the action several times to check that the weapon is clear. The problem there is that you are assuming that the extractor is functioning correctly. Never assume! Great video
A few weeks ago I bought a Ruger American Gen 2 in 223 and on impulse I saw a matching 22 long rifle so I bought them both. Thought they would make a nice pair. Anyway, I bought a couple of the trigger spring kits and OMG... Simple and easy install and amazing difference. Almost feels like a different trigger to be honest. I put the factory reset screw in about halfway with a little bit of removable loctite and I'm getting right at 2 lb with a better feel overall. Made a huge difference in my target shooting. Thanks Mcarbo!
I searched everywhere trying to find someone who made an aftermarket trigger spring for my Ruger American 22 mag rimfire. Thank you for coming through big time. Followed your video and installation was a snap. My trigger pull went from good to AMAZING.
(Ruger American 6.5 Creedmore) Just installed and was super simple as video showed. I Cleaned , lightly oiled and Smoothed all rough edges on trigger and internals (aka blueprinted lol)since had it all part . Set adjustment screw almost flush ,hair less then one thread. Trigger is perfect for me now ,just a little bit over 2-lbs. Big difference from stock... Priced right ,quality product ,USA Made, highly recommend!!! Thanks MCARBO👍🏻
Just me or did you put the trigger hinge pin in from the top when you took it out from the bottom? Does it matter? Great video; looking forward to ordering mine.
Not just you I noticed that too. Might not be a big deal but never know might as well put it back together how it came from factory. Looks like good product though.
Great video! I just changed the spring on my Ruger American Preditor .308. Almost stripped the set screw but managed to avert disaster! Thanks for the quality prodect. Trigger is sweet now. Always support the brotherhood. Carry on gentlemen...
I have this gun in Europe. It was very hard to get american srewdriver bit set and this product. My friend's friend helped me, send it with post. That's true: 1.84 pound now the trigger.. Very good video, very good product.
I have 2 Ruger American Target Rimfire's that's breaking at 14oz and 1.3pounds that I hunt with. You can get lighter and still be safe with the RAR triggers.
My Ruger American in 22 Mag with a Boyd's laminated walnut and walnut stock had a factory trigger pull of 2.5 lbs. After installing the new spring by Mcarbo, it is now 1.5 lbs. 👍😁. Have not been to the range with the new spring but it should function great.
Thank you I just got a Ruger and didn’t want to spend too much so a trigger assembly was too much. This helped out tremendously, do you guys sell bolt handles for these?
Love you product, took my Ruger American Predator 6.5 Grendel from 3 1/4 lb to 2 1/4 lb was hoping for a little lighter but boy what a difference. Happy Happy Happy
Got in today, installed right away and the most i got was 2.5 with like 3 or 4 threads exposed. With one thread exposed i was getting a little over 3lbs.... 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
I can confirm this trigger spring also works in the Ruger American Gen 2. Just installed mine today and love the reduced pull weight. Ruger ran that set screw all the way in from factory for at least a 4-5 lb trigger.
MCarbo, Please confirm that this spring and install video applies to my new American Gen II. I love this rifle but the factory trigger sucks. It will not go below 4.5#. If you made a video with the Gen II you will likely sell one spring for every Gen II that Ruger makes.
Just installed my M-Carbo spring and, with 3 threads showing, the best I can manage in 2 lbs 4 oz. I won't go any further. It's better than stock...I was just hoping for 2 or slightly less.
My Ruger American has the magazine latch blocking on the the takedown screws so it needs to be removed and then replaced. It is a delicate operation because of the latch spring. Do you have a video showing this procedure?
I’m somewhat glad I watched to the end. When you said 2lbs, I was not interested. At 1.5lbs, I’m much more interested. Too bad it’s advertised as +/- 1lb. That’s a massive variance. Also curious why it doesn’t work in RPR.
Great content in your video! Thanks! I have one suggestion. Could you slow your presentation down? I had to wear tennis shoes while watching this video lol. Hope you have a sense of humor.
I was sure hoping this was the Sub 2000 red dot and trigger bar announcement. By the way Chris do you know KelTec has recall on some Gen 2 sub 2000s. Basically fg up on serial number. You probably should do a video on it.
My Sub2000 serial number was on the safety recall list, I bought mine 12/1/17. I sent it off Monday 4/9/18. I've been tracking it through FedEx and mine should make it to Kel Tec by tomorrow 4/12/18. Kel Tec told me we are looking at probably a two week turn around time for me to receive it back.
With other applications that method is unsafe as you need the original length, just not the same tension. For example an AR disconnect trigger spring needs the full length of the original spring to reliability catch the trigger as the bolt travels rearward, and shortened spring will cause the disconnect to bounce rearward and let the hammer disconnect unexpectedly (slam fire). That being said, I wouldn't know how that theory applies to the Ruger, but the butterfly effect is not always positive, nor reliable.
Ok, don't know how this happens, but this stupid spring turned my rifle into sub moa at 200 yards. Have not been able to group this rifle well in 8 years.
