@@2010thurley aha, so my comment still makes sense, since season 2 and 3 also have end credit scene. So super mario meant that they watched this end credit scene. got it.
It's funnier when u know nigun and his soldiers were raised with the mindset that humans are the best race and are choosen by gods, but they faced ainz that surpassed the legend of their gods and not only he was an undead but they even called humans little insects.
@@thalassaer4137 bruh a single death knight from Ainz is a major catastrophe for them. Imagine the horror when the Re-Estize faced the dark young...SPLAT!
I feel the Invaders of the lost tomb arc portrayed Ainz as a character better. Scenes like this in the first season gave people the wrong idea that Ainz was the hero of the story and got shocked with his cruelty in s3. Dont get me wrong this scene is still a banger tho and what got me into it.
Their continual distrust of Demiurge is so hilarious, he is objectively like one of Ains’ most loyal retainers and they’re just like “Oh yea he’s the final boss” 😂😂😂
They are all loyal to him equally except Pandora's Actor who would be the most loyal to Ainz. All guardians are most loyal to their creators and would go against Nazrick if instructed by them, its just how the game coded them being player created npc's.
Do y’all not know what sarcasm is? They keep making the joke that Demiurge is the inalienable boss because they *actually* thought that he was when they first watched it, and everyone got mad at them, so now they’re jokingly saying it
Truth be told almost everyone thought that of demiurge in season 1😹 he just looks and talks and behaves like the type of guy that'd stab you in the back when in actuality he's anything but that.
To put the level of OP into perspective (from reading the light novels) the regular people in the world are level 1-5; the people trained in a particular skill are around 10-15; the people who are the best of the best are 30's. The guardians are Raid Bosses, all level 100, and Ainz is a player level 100 (+10 special prestige class levels that are equal to completly leveling to 100 a 2nd time on that character)
@@MrBlorp-sf9ye Yeah, in the light novel there is a whole "game character" sheet at the end of several of them showing many of the character/npc's levels - Momonga is max level, then his extra prestige levels are in "Overlord of Death" which is where the series title came from - momonga is the "Overlord"
Yep. The level of "I'm gonna wreck your entire world" is valid. He could literally send the floor bosses to take over a nation a piece and it would still be overkill
Ehh the “best of the best” are more around lvl 50, MAYBE lvl 75-80 in the Slane Theocracy if your talking the Black Scripture, but even the 50-ish areas are the “Legendary Adamantite Adventurers”
So glad Overlord is back, and 02:42 that Erwin Smith edit nearly flew over my head, but still killed me🤣👌👌 and Lupa-san with the suspicions, it's just gonna get worse😂🤣
It's a joke referencing to their previous reactions to season 1 where they got clapped in the comments for insisting that demiurge is evil. Lupa learned his lesson and is just trolling.
In the LN Ainz thought the crystal had a Serraphim class angel. That's why he told albedo, prepare for battle. If it was, he stated they'd have to "fight for their lives".
To answer your question, Japan has a pretty rough history with western religion as a whole, so it's not all that uncommon to see it shown as a secretly evil group.
YGGDRASIL players have appeared in the new world before like the 6 great gods(all of them are dead) worshipped by the 6 scriptures the 8 greed kings(one of them might still be alive) the minotaur sage(he either died of old age or was poisoned) the "demon gods" at least 2 of the 13 heroes(those players are dead) and maybe the goblin king(he was too weird not to be a player and he probably died of an STD) and thats why things from YGGDRASIL are in the new world
The way he says "yo" makes me think he's going to start singing, "I'm blue" by the blue man group. ,"Yooo! listen up, here's a story.. about a little guy who lived, in a blue world~" xD AND THAT KATT WILLIAMS ADDITION WAS HILARIOUS!!
So in the novel, they actually captured all those people from the slane theocracy and tortured and experimented on them for information about how the world worked. If I recall correctly the blond, fish eyes dude died first from the “interrogations”
I don't think this is something that gets covered or revealed in the Anime, maybe hinted at, but Ainz isn't the only person from the game that is transported to this world, but he is the latest to appear. For some reason the people who arrive, show up at different times in history, and many of the legends in this world are based on previous "Players" that arrived in the world, but those are all centuries apart, so they all have already died of old age before the next wave of "Players" like Ainz arrives.
btw Ainz didn't spare anybody from the sunlight scripture, to this day they are captured in Nazarick in the frozen prison from the 5th floor, he makes them eat each other and torture them over and over again.
No, they all actually died after ainz asked them 5 questions. Slane theoracy put a curse on them that doesn't allow betrayal, so yes while they tortured them for a while, they were not able to keep them alive.
I've actually read its novel and dimurge is actually one of the most loyal personnel of ainz so i kinda feel bad for him saying that he's gonna stab him in the back... Well he does have that kind of aura though😂
He doesnt kill those enemies. they never show it in the show, but his demon demiurge is actually making a "farm" for those humans, where he skins them alive and heals them to be able to skin them over and over, partly because he love the suffering of others and to make magic scrolls of human skin. They make a reference to this "farm" later in the show and he calls the humans "albion sheep". But they never specify what it is. Demiurges farm is basically a farm of torture, as he comes up with new ways to torment people for his own amusement, and Aains ool gown doesn't care what he does, as long as it produce results.
Ainz is like if a max lvl character randomly starts chilling in a starter zone and just decides to start ruling that shit. Like what can anybody do, except try to avoid his notice or try not to piss him off enough for him to fart in your general direction and erase your entire family tree from history.
In Norse Mythology, Yggrdrasil is an unfathomably vast ash tree whose branches and roots extend throughout the entire cosmos, comprised of nine realms including ours, the human world Midgard.
Ainz is refering to Yggdrasil because it was the name of the Game he was playing... when the servers were supposed to shut down... he and everything in his guild and guild base (Nazarick) was Transported to a new world simply called "New World" yea i know... creative as best :D
idk if you guys need this info but . . . . . . overlord magic system have this tier list, human from new world most of them only able to use tier 1-3 and some extraordinary people can use tier 4-6. that angel possess a magic tier above 7, that's why the sunlight scripture guy was so confident he can win. ofcourse ainz being badass able to use up to tier 10 magic and some cheat ability that you can say its tier 11 magic
Great Video! Overlord has a severe difference in Power Levels. Nazarick Ainz, Albedo, Demiurge, Mare, Aura, Cocytus, Shalltear, Sebas - Level 100 Adventurers Copper (1-4 )Iron (5-8) Silver (9-12) Gold (13-16) Platinum (17-20) Mythril (21-23) Orichalum (24-26) Adamantite (27-29) Hero (30+) (unofficial adventurer rank) Gazef (29-30) ("barely a hero") *Small Spoiler* The Great Gods of the Slane Theocracy were actually 90+ players. Something to think about. The only people that come close in the New World are Gods, Dragon Lords, Great Kings, and Zesshi Zatsumei!
The best way to think of Ainz and his NPCs going forward is as natural disasters. They're not just OP in this world. They are so far beyond everyone that the very idea of hindering them is laughable. You may as well try taking out a hurricane with a .22.
The reason Ainz is speechless and going hand-to-face at Dominion Authority is because he was expecting a Seraph, which is like the uppermost powerful of angels.... Dominion Authority is just a Mid-tier Angel thatt is, yes far above the Archangel Flames and the Principality of Observation, sure it's 7th level magic to summon it (and it can wipe out a city or compete with something around level 70), but it's weaksauce compared to a Seraph. Ainz is literally facepalming at how stupid his expectations had been. Oh and Seraphs dun exist in the New World, or at least none's ever heard of them or summoned one before cuz you need to be Ainz-tier to approach the ability to do so.
Slane Theocracy Is the most powerful human nation in the world, and their goal is to protect mankind. The nation has six different sects who worship six different deities. The Sunlight Scripture follows their god of light, and the military purpose of their group is to destroy demihuman settlements that are too close to human territories. Gazef actually was stronger than the Sunlight Scripture, individually. But they had better strategy. Martial Arts burn physical and mental stamina, and summoned angels are resistant to normal weaponry, as seen when Gazef couldn't cut all the way through at 3:00. Ganging up on him with multiple angels forced him to expend his energy without ever getting near the casters.
Wow, first time catching this live Edit: My guess is that a situation similar to Drifters (great anime) had happened, where someone overpowered would have an easy time controlling a kingdom in the new world.
Captain Nigun has the same voice actor with Demon Lord (wannabe) Clayman from Slime. Both Nigun and Clayman got clapped by their respective own show protagonists.
This is like playing Shin megami tensei and accidentally running into a demon that wreaks your whole team especially since it's about demons and you can recruit Angels like Dominion, Pricipality, and some Archangels
This scene is explained very short and fulfilling in light novel I don't understand why they didn't include it in anime. When nigun say's he will summon an angel of highest degree Ainz say's is it Seraph? Without a full party taking a Seraph down will be hard. Than he calls for albedos help. Than he became speeches to see dominion othority. It was something like they lure them together with agro management and one shot 100 of them at ones to farm gold 😆
1:11 I mean, it is quite common to have religions as the "bad guys" in fiction, even more so in Japan, where they feel a lot of rejection for that kind of faith , especially the Christian type, since in the past said people tried to promulgate their beliefs in that part of Asia, but the Japanese correctly interpreted it as an attempt to colonize their lands and therefore they ended up kicking them out of there.🤓
To be fair, Japan had lots of issues back in the feudal era of Buddhist Monks pretty much pushing people around politically because they took in any ronin or forces that were expelled by other feudal lords. So they had tons of combat capable people at hand and used it as a "soft threat" back in the day. It less about "god" and more about "organized religious groups imposing themselves."
Love seeing you guys react to this. Love this series. After you finish season 3, how about you guys see isekai Quartet. It is basically a crossover for overlord, konosuba, re:zero, and saga of tanya the evil.
