I figured that Raiden siphoned some of Metal Gear RAY's energy to power himself up since you can see his muscle fibers on his suit bulge in size before throwing RAY into the sky.
It's like in MGS4 when he zapped like six soldiers with electricity from ceiling lights. I think he can control electricity but doesn't use it in combat because the enemies are too fast to use on right away, so he does it when they are weak.
That's more a gameplay thing, them snapping you into position for the scene rather than it actually pushing you back. If you were in the exact position, it'd do nothing
And the final boss turned out to not be a final boss but rather a stronger final boss inside a big robot final boss waiting to show you his pro football skills.
This game is great. People may not have liked it cause it's not a stealth game, but holy shit, the upgrade system, the bosses, the soundtrack, the replayability... this game had a lot going for it and it definitely deserves a sequel.
@@carso1500 isnt that basically normal humans ? Ww2 = too dangerous to confront a tank directly During Vietnam War (less than 20 yrs) = Infrared Homing Missiles (It had poor direct hit accuracy but it worked)
@@Gorecatto well yeah infantry has become a hard counter for tanks thanks to the proliferation of anti tank self propelled grenades and rocket launchers, but this is a "normal" human battling a 5000 thousands mech with nuclear capabilities and winning
Ever since MGR came out, this moment has been just incredibly iconic. Freaking. SICK. Especially if you played MGS2. Thinking back to the moment where you struggled to defeat wave after wave of Rays at the end, and then you get to literally suplex this one at the beginning of the game... The definition of satisfying lol
@@tyrannosaurusrex4600 Well, Raiden when he wasn't even a cyborg in MGS2, managed to take down 25 Metal Gears by himself, and without an OP sword like the Murasama, so that's not that impressive in itself.
It does though keep in mind even though he doesn't have the iconic muramasa HF blade yet his current blade is still an HF blade meaning it cuts better than any normal sword
@@briarmason8737 actually it is according to the wiki it's "A customized version of the HF Blade Raiden previously wielded in Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4"
He was able to halt a battleship with his bare hands in games before MGRR, so this should technically be easy for him without the enhanced cyborg body.
@@OGrupxe Snake maybe can best MGS 2 Raiden, but there is no way in hell he even stands a fraction of a chance vs MGRR Radien or MGS4 Raiden for that matter.
Make em have a competition. Snake goes infiltrate an enemy base while Raiden GOES INTO THE ENEMY BASE FRONT DOOR. and who ever gets the intelligence WINS
The scariest thing is this could actually be possible in the next 200 years. (not from a physics standpoint, but from a technological one) We already have cyborg tech, (brain machine interfacing) a new prosthetic arm that has a connection to the brain just like a real human arm. And we really do have CNT muscle fibers that can contract really fast and are super durable and can lift thousands of times their own weight
+Alpharius I think the 'rules of nature' being broken here are the laws of physics. Raiden just JUDO-FLIPPED a Humongous Mecha. That is is straight-up anime shit right there. All nanomachines and other cybernetic upgrades aside, a normal-sized human being just LIFTED and THREW a robot the size of a SKYSCRAPER. Physics is pretty much Raiden's bitch after that. But then, we must never forget...his mad breakdancing skillz :)
I remember first playing MGR, being a long-time Metal Gear fan. The Metal Gears are terrifying, the MG RAY boss fight in MGS2 was horrifyingly belittling. So when I watched as Raiden fucking clashed blades with one, and proceeded to fucking throw it over him whilst the music screamed 'RULES OF NATURE', I was instantly fucking sold on this game.
Can't exactly argue against that confidently. The gaming industry needs to just go balls-to-the-walls like this. It would literally be better for it. Even if it's bad there would almost certainly be infinite memes spawning from it.
Imagine this in VR Giant mech swinging a 100ft power sword down on you, you raise your hands as though holding a sword and stop it as the music goes RULES OF NATURE
This happened to me on my first sesion as a GM, one guy said: I want to suplex the Dragon, and i was like: "You shouldn't, but ok. I don't think that..." 3 seconds later, there's a Dragon Suplexed on the Ground...
It's only just occurred to me that Ray is such a threatening machine that even after being yeeted into the sky and having one of it's arms sliced into 50 pieces, it's still able to fire some pretty accurate shots at Raiden.
@@shadows_star You're telling me he and Sam not only obliterated those giant machines, but that those giant machines are specifically made to destroy OTHER GIANT MACHINES ?
@OnePlayer480 Huh. I had initially liked the idea that Rules of Nature was Raidens theme because of his need to be on a battlefield and constantly moving from one prey to the next for the meaning in his life to valid, but listening to your interpretation has changed my mind. It is very cool to see other perspectives.
Plus all the bosses. Especially arm strong. The gameplay was fun as hell. Jet stream Sam was a great rival. The fantastic dialogue. Lol you left out a lot
thefatman69fude I've just said 3 best, not all best ^^. MGR itself is one of a kind game with everything perfect. As for Armstrong, yes great boss, annoying af though on the first playtrough
Things I like about MGR : 1. It's a game where the sword actually cuts instead of being a glorified baseball bat 2. The majestic soundtrack 3. All the great boss fights 4. "PLAYED COLLEGE BALL Y'KNOW" 5. sunny
Dragon Ball has more yelling than actual fighting. That's only an observation I've heard from MasacoX. Now that I think of it it's more like Fuhrer King Bradley from Fullmetal Alchemist. He cuts s*** like a one man army.
@@PhantomShadow224 in my opinion "war never changes" is more symbolic i think is word what I'm saying is "war never changes" doesn't mean war doesn't change over time key word in my opinion i may be wrong.
“Ladies and gentlemen I would like to introduce you to the tutorial boss. We are currently going under a learning experience but that doesn’t matter because raiden is FUCKING JACKED” 0:17
For most people, blocking a 50 foot tall robot's arm with a katana, tossing it into the air, then jumping after it and cutting the arm off would be the achievement of a lifetime. For Raiden, it was just another Monday morning.
*Narrator voice* : He would then go on to run and jump across several missiles, sprint down a clock tower a la Kingdom Hearts and then slice that same robot clean down the middle. Most will never achieve this. Raiden did it in 10 minutes.
@@NiCoNiCoNiCola Both technically and by what he means... no. Technically, he's only in MG2 for 99% of the game, not hte 100%. But what he means is that he'll get his own spinoff or title based around him (like how Metal Gear Solid is based arond Solid Snake).
@@NiCoNiCoNiCola When did I say that? The whole joke was about how he'll only believe Raiden will get his own game (referring to MGR:R) when Metal Gears fly (like how Raiden makes RAY fly in the above video).
Every other video game ever: Here in this game, you will know how to do this and this and this... Revengeance: Here's a giant robot, you have a sword. You know what to do.
This. The game doesn't teach you much, just blade mode and ninja run I think. Doesn't even teach you how to aim blade mode properly. It doesn't teach you zandatsu either. Kinda sucks at first, but I've grown to like it.
