RUN LIKE HELL-DAVID GILMOUR-THIS WAS A BRIGHT PERFORMANCE!!!-REACTION

This is a really good performance but this is from David Gilmour's solo tour from 2016 on it's stop in Pompeii. The live version to watch is from 1994's PULSE tour, the re-edited and remastered version released in 2019.

First of all!!!

The big artists 70+ performing gang: Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Sting (The Police), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney (The Beatles), Elton John, The Eagles, Phil Collins (Genesis), Brian May/Roger Taylor (Queen). Amongst others. I've been to most of these artists (also in the last decade or so) and they still put on a great show. But of course these are among the greatest bands that have ever been. So much quality there.

Keep in mind, David Gilmour was in his 70s for this concert. He sang for more than 2 hrs finishing with Comfortably numb. This was his band and they sounded just like Floyd.

The Rolling Stones are all geezers and they still perform. They did a 14 show tour last year.

This was David Gilmour's last song on his last stop from his 2016 tour. It was filmed in the same Roman amphitheater that "Echoes" was filmed in 45 years earlier. No one knows if he'll ever play live again, but he has released several videos as recently as 2022. This has kind of a sentimental value to me, being that this might be his final live performance. This world tour was to promote his (at the time) new album "Rattle That Lock". BTW, congrats on almost hitting 2K subscribers.

I've mentioned to you before that if you enjoy this version the Pulse concert version is a million times better musically and visually...Explosions, lasers, lights and pyrotechnics and the whole stage completely EXPLODES at the end it's the final song the ENCORE OF THE PULSE CONCERT..!! IT'S ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND YOU DON'T THINK IT'S REAL IT'S THAT CRAZY. !! Me and my mates all just stood their speechless at the End and we were all tripping off mushrooms.. Their is so much effects you don't know where to look the whole stage takes off

Sadly there is no good official video of the original The Wall tour (only from some songs). However there is from Roger Waters The Wall tour from 2010-13. It was a mindblowing concert. Sure, no David, but it was Roger's baby all the way anyway and he has a killer band. And the production is just out of this world. Hopefully Risby can watch some songs from that, like the opening song. I think he would like it to say the least.

Mark Brinkman lighting producer did it again.Dave the only person to play twice in the Amphitheater since 79 AD. There is a hallway inside the theater dedicated to Pink Floyd's performance in 1972. Play 2 days. last day final song and lat time playing " comfortably numb" 125 million views. keys , Chuck leavell ( from the Allman Brothers) also Greg Phillinganes( Micheal Jackson former music director) Steve Distanislao , drums( played Crosby & Nash. Kenny Loggins, Joe Walsh.)Guitar. Chester Kamen. ( played, Madonna, Duran Duran, McCartney), Bass. Guy Pratt long time player ith Dave also played with Madonna. Only song he played in 1972 and this one " one of these day's" which start with an instrument I have never seen. Watch " in any tongue" ************

I was fortunate enough to see David Gilmour on this tour when it came through Chicago in 2016. I had just become a Pink Floyd fan the year before, and especially a fan of David Gilmour, since I love guitar solos. He sounded amazing! As for artists in their 70s performing live, there are quite a few. David Gilmour is 76 years old now. I'm not sure if/when he will tour again, but he is apparently working on new music. My favorite musician, Todd Rundgren, is 73 years old and tours pretty constantly, either on his own or part of various tribute acts to other musicians. The musicians in the Eagles are in their 70s and are touring right now. My favorite member of that band, Joe Walsh, recently did an amazing concert for veterans called VetsAid; videos of his performances from that, both as a solo artist and as a member of The James Gang, which was a band he was in before he joined the Eagles--are up on RU-vid. He is 75 years old and still rocking (he also has great guitar solos). I sometimes joke that all of my favorite artists are my parents' age (Boomers in their 70s) but it's true!

Now you gotta do the one from Pulse! The one with Rick Wright. 💥 (Much better/more energetic performance IMO. And Pompeii is pronounced “Pom-pay”)

Needs Waters scary vocal counterparts. It just not as visceral without him.same goes for the bass.

Prefer the PULSE version, a totally different vibe and absolutely out there in the stratosphere
