I could watch Boz talk about this stuff all day. He is a perfect bridge between what was, what is, and what needs to come. More peeks behind the curtain please.
Thanks for watching, Alex! We're glad you enjoyed the episode and we appreciate your feedback. Don't miss Episode 2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NSu7kt4DlBo.html
03:35 - Why does the position of the jerk block matter? Boz: "During the testing sessions, details beyond the movements loading and repetitions are also scrutinized. Often considerations need to be made for staging equipment in a way that allows multiple divisions to maximize it's placement with minimal transitions between heats. This is one small example of how interconnected each detail of competition is during an event as broad as the CrossFit Games."
I really enjoy hearing Boz's explanation and appreciate his methodology. I remember last year athletes saying they were hoping for more "classic CrossFit" next time. But their idea of classic CrossFit is doing the same 15 moves the same way they always have in the same time domains, etc. Last year's Games really exposed who trained to be a diverse functional well rounded athlete and who trained for what they expected the games to be.
We're so glad you found it fascinating, RNR! We hope you enjoy the rest of the series. Episode 2 drops tomorrow: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NSu7kt4DlBo.html
