Good stuff, love your videos. Yes, would be really nice to see form analysis on slower runners - LOL! 2:45 - 3:00 hr marathoners.

His slight overstriding is due simply to not jumping high enough to permit time for next foot strike to start its rearward motion and strike closer to center of mass. Running is a plyometric activity, jumping at an angle that maintains a momentum plus allowing enough flight time to correctly place the next striking foot. Try feeling a higher jump with each stride and see what happens to your landing foot position. Each step is a hip/knee/ankle fllexion (shock absorption), then an explosive hip/knee/ankle extension (jump at a forward leaning angle). Then, flying - flight time to next foot strike. Don't push the ground rearward, but lean and jump. Jump higher to end heel strike.

JP this was a fantastic review of how a stride analysis. I am a XC and T &F coach at a high school. I find it a struggle trying to improve stride efficiency on my athletes.

Hi JP, love your videos and after a year of injury, getting back into it. I have a question about the TFL. Have you got any videos about TFL strengthening or how to reduce overuse or any general advice?

Long runners don‘t seem to be able to really sprint fast. I noticed that seeing mo farah run a 12.6 or so in the 100m

No way that's his 100m PR. He can knock out a fast 400m...

VinylUnboxings check him running against anthony joshua

@@conandoyle1740 wow he really does look slow there. You think he was going 100%? It's definitely possible, but that averages to over 51 seconds for a 400 which we've seen him do at the end of 10Ks

Thank you!! I just started getting back into jogging and I can't get below 9.36 min per mile. I feel like i have more in the tank but I always finish around the same time. I tend to start off pretty chill than run hard at the very end, am I going about it wrong??
@JPGloria
@JPGloria 5 лет назад
Its not necessarily wrong! Its not a bad move to start easier, than end hard...except in your case, maybe you'll need to consistently pick up the pace a little more throughout the race if you feel that way and want to get a PR

@@JPGloria Nice! Thank you, I'll try to pick it up next time and see if i can get it under 9min. Thanks!
