I am a retired HGV driver. I was an owner driver for three of my 40+ years. A lot of my back loads were fertiliser from the northeast to farms all over England. I do not miss being axle deep in mud, that's for sure. Keep up the good work. British truck drivers are among the hardest workers we have. I can't see many of our younger generation wanting to do 15-hour days.
I am a retired Lorry Driver from Sweden and have followed you for a long time, and I am always as happy to see a super talented driver as you are. And the work you put into your video files is outstanding. I look forward to your next video, after you get your much needed rest.
Saturday morning and my morning routine with my daughter - new video from Jemma with our morning coffee. She loves your video and cant wait to drive big rigs when she grow up. She like you so much. Jemma keep great work inspiring young women that they can achieve anything man can. Hello from us from Slovenia 😊
When you say "loads of room," we both stare at each other, shaking our heads amazed at your driving skills. Amazing, thank you for sharing your work life with us, it makes our weekend
Good morning Jemz💎. What a week you had, I hope you and Ryan have a fantastic weekend as you deserve it. All your faithful followers really appreciate your hard work, not only work wise, but the time you spend in getting your vlogs ready and uploaded. Thank you for all your hard work. Take care, stay safe and safe driving. ❤
cheers mucka for your support for her. She is great. ( From ex UKSF (R) and Para background), now driving for a living. looks like your doing same. Small world. PS do you follow Angry Bootneck? he is ace. very intelligent funny guy. well worth a watch.
@@richarddepledge960 Your welcome, at least your not a Pongo 🤣. No more driving for me, 71yrs young and housebound. I served from 1970 to 1980, with 42 and 45. Jemz💎 brings back a lot of memories of holidays in Devon and Cornwall when I was a saucepan. I love Angry Bootneck, never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Jemma you are a credit to Wains and you just are so dedicated to your work and company Many people would not commit to the work load you do! You really deserve your own company maybe one day it will become a reality! Have a lovely weekend and take care!
Fantastic Jemma. I’m in awe of your driving skills. Bet a long hot soak in the bath was in order after that mighty shift. 😊 You really are credit to you industry, your company and your family. This in addition to being an incredible role model for young girls dreaming of becoming a HGV driver. Well done and thank you for the fabulous video. 👏👏👏👏👏
Hi, jemma's gramps watched it all the time, so we, as a family, watched with him and still do. Take care, oh, and jemma and her sister always said he was only 12.😂
I come off coaches to do trucks, I trunk daily basis, 5 in 3 off, I trunk to Leeds and Bathgate from Manchester and I have never come close to 35 hrs driving a week, wow You work hard Love
Well done Jemma. I enjoy your videos so much, I was not a truck driver but worked on a farm. It wasn't usually my lob but over the years I loaded lots of lorry's. In my younger days the grain was in 16 stone sacks. (you may not know what a sack is) You seem to nearly know how much room your truck needs 😄Thanks Jemma
Nothing worse than having to clock watch as well as doing your extremely stressful job, but you made it woo hoo. 😎😎 Always appreciate your videos and the work they take and the fact that it is over and above your actual job. Have a relaxing weekend, although with all the other activities you have, that might not be possible.😱😱 At least it is going to be a good week next week.🤞🤞
I hope they pay you well for the work you do. Seems every week is maxed to the limit. Good video gives people an insight as to how difficult the job is.
Long hours, Long Days, Been There Done That, So Many times. People think that driving an HGV driving is easy, well it's not that easy. Thanks Jemma for putting these videos out and giving other people some in-site as how life on the road really is. Also when you mentioned that the lay-bays for the trucks are getting taken out and not replaced, This is an important thing to keep mentioning that there needs to be safe places for HGV's to park up. A lot of people are not clued up on driving hours and what is law and what one has to do to be in your driving hours. Again you pass all this information in every video that you put out. Well don Lass Respect,... From someone who's been driving from before Tacho' came out. First truck I drove was a Bedford TK ... for Alpine Pop.
I'd never heard of Alpine Soft Drinks before, so had a search and there's several group chats of former employees, if you haven't already seen them. It sounded like a fun company.
Greetings from Iceland. Love following your blogs. Takes me back to my to my adventures as a truckdriver. Wich are glorious in hindsight but nightmares when I was doing those things. Best wishes to you. Be safe...
Keep vlogging Jemma, my Saturday morning routine is watching your travels with a cup of coffee and a slice of toast 🤣 take care and hope you have a restful weekend 👍🏴💯
Hi Jemma Another great video. As an Electrician the electric are very bad at the grain drop you did the switches need to be fixed to the wall. We do not want our Jemma getting an electric shock. We'll done for finishing on time. Safe trucking ,have a nice weekend
The joys of watching the clock all day.. but one wash on 23 trucks aint that bad? Back when i drove at Heuveltrans we had one wash on 80-100 trucks. BUT.. we didn't had to wash it ourselfs though. But a clean truck works so much nicer 😊
Hi Jemma, Declan here love watching your journeys and comments everything you do is just like clockwork you are so maticolous in everything you do years of of experience and hope all is well cheers Declan best wishes from Galway Ireland hope all is well 👍👍
Hi Jemma What a nightmare of a week and then ending with the A377, I know it well! Speaking about Fraser in Dads Army. I remember when Mannering was at the Burns Supper and he entered the room to Toast the Haggis playing the bagpipes and Fraser who had been slagging off Mannering earlier, turned to Mannering and said" I never doubted ye for a minute Cap'n !" Regards Crawford
Thank you for the video. You deserve a nice rest but I guess more building work when you get there. Enjoy what you can. Take care lovely lady. Regards Austin.
ALL petro pumps have a filter to keep dirt out of customers tanks. When the filter clogs it makes the flow rate real real slow. Some station managers wont change their filter until a customer or 5 complain. !
Jemma you're a Your' e a super employee .you plan everything so well and then put the plans into reality so smoothly,Main must be very glad to have a super driver like you.Have a great weekend BTW my sister lives in Burnham having moved from Ilminster last year so I am familiar wing the roads around your area .Still winter here in Canada and we are expecting a snow storm this weekend.. Cheers and stay safe..
Hardest working woman in trucking!! Loved the Dad's Army clip...was one of my favorite shows on the telly when I lived in Scotland (1970-1981)...Stay safe...watching you from New Orleans, USA
Hai Jemma, was een prachtige met interessante los en laadadressen, over smalle wegen , ik heb ervan genoten bedankt en tot de volgende vlog gr carel uit Nederland
Very difficult job to i could never drive an artic or large waggon a friend was a long distance wagon driver all his working life many nights away every week took my racing pigeons occasionally for a chuck down the road. Always like you jemma kept things clean and tidy .
I’ve recently starting watching these and I have to say they’re really good! It gives a great insight into being a truck driver in the uk. I am amazed at Gemma’s skill in parking the arctic and negotiating very narrow spaces. She is really a professional. I also worry about the dust she breathes when sweeping and tipping, and the tough conditions that are part of being hourly paid.
Love the style of your videos The voice over works perfect for your content Also it's something different I'm all fridge and a little bit of curtain Thanks for posting
I know HGV driving includes long days’ work sometimes, like yourself my job (supplying supermarkets) is a lot more than just the 9 driving hours….. and at times I work 15 hr days too…. On this end your vids are highly appreciated Jemma!!
That was a good one Jemma, for us to watch and share if not for you doing it. Thank you for taking the time and effort on these vlogs, it must be harder editing them than driving in the 1st place. Your expertise at getting in and out of places, your handling of the people you meet and the running commentary make the vlogs very special, thank you.
Hi Jemma thanks to your videos my wife and I come down to bridge water Carnival this year in the stands looking forward to it ,I have been trucker for 30 years your driving skills are amazing hope you and Ryan have a great Easter
Thank you for your comment. Glad you enjoyed Bridgwater carnival and hope you will be back soon. November is getting closer fast for carnival. Take care
I've not long subscribed to your channel but your a lorry driver who does YT , not the other way around so full credit to you for putting a video out after a week like that . Great Dads Army reference :) - Matt .
Morning Jemma, My names Dale. I just waved at you on the 303 at the Martock turning., I was in the silver 4x4!!. Been watching your channel for a while now. Nice to actually see you on the road!!. I hope you inspire more young girls into the business!!. Keep up the great work, Take care Dale. Keep on trucking!! 10-4.
The smile at the end looked like, well, looked like it took everything you had left to give. lol. Thanks for going to all the trouble to take us along. I'm sure there are times you'd just rather not have to worry about it. Take care.
I have no real interest in trucks and truck driving but find your videos so very compelling. Great to get an insight into the life of a truck driver. Excellent videos. I take my hat off to your driving skills (and patience!).
Woweeeeee - what a Friday you had and what a flippin week! - all credit to you Jemz 👏..... I hope you enjoyed a good restful weekend before starting it all over again today - let the fun begin! 🤞.....Be safe out there 👍
Hands down you are an absolute titan in the bulk trucking industry Jemma all bar none. First class work ethics and a real proper grafter. 🙌. Can't wait to see what cream the office team give you next week, I hope they show you some real appreciation for all that you do. They must wish that all of their drivers operate like you, (in an ideal world)🙏
This was a relatively easy day, which is always good. The pit at the second location is indeed in a tough spot, but of course you could back up the truck without a problem. The narrow streets are incredible in this video, these old villages are not really suited for big trucks. You are lucky you could go back to the yard at the end of the day and you didn't run of driving time. I'm not surprised you were really tired, this was definitely a long week for you. Fantastic vlog as always Jemma. I love to watch your adventures and your uploads always brightens my Saturdays.
Hey Gemma just watched the latest video and again enjoyed it. Fully informative on the life and issues of a hgv driver. Can I ask if you ever face anything whilst driving that you get stressed about. (Apart from showers) You always seem calm and stress free when driving.
some of my shopping list for part of this week was Bread, the seeded nice bread, Butter that you can believe is not Butter (Clover), although 90hrs actual driving over 2 weeks seems unbelievable, Heck yeah Mayo, Red Bull, scouring sponges, skimmed Milk (daily), corn flakes, cucumber, avocados, easy peelers, Bananas, pasta sauces and Rice (blood types for Rice or pasta)
Hello jemma now are you to day I like all of your videos you explain everything you do in your job I have watched your video for a few months I like when you get up and make a cup of tea and then you do your checks and then let's go ❤❤❤😂
Hello..you could have made the end of the vlog a cliff hanger for next time.. “did Jemma make it back to the yard? ..to be continued “ love this channel
You have stated that you are paid by the hour. A friend of mine also works for a haulage company in the Harlow Essex area. I mentioned on a previous video that because of the shortage of drivers he has had substantial salary increase. Maybe you should talk to Wain Transport about paying you a fixed salary as that would encourage the drivers to remain more loyal and less likely to move to another company for better conditions. Good luck. As an ex shop steward I firmly believe that a good boss should look after his employees and avoid trouble by paying them well and looking after them.
Nice content as always and dedication your working far to hard and don't seem appreciated enough cant you find a local job close to home even class 2 !!! home every night its not all about the money
