People dont give emu devs enough credit, they work for literally free, and let me tell you, this shit is NOT easy to make, i recently got my hands to work on a CHIP 8 emulator which is supposed to be the easiest system to emulate and lets just say that the only easy thing about it is the name. I hope PS4 emulation becomes decent enough so we can preserve games that might never be ported, but it will probably take some good years till we reach that phase

It's wild to me that PS4 emulators are already old enough to become "abandoned". Projects come and go quickly sometimes, but it seems like yesterday that they even started.

Been playing bloodborne through PS+ but the delay is awful due to streaming however it's a superb game. Would love it through emulation or a native PC port.

I am honestly really happy to see a video covering some of the beginnings of the emulation discovery process in action. Lots of documentation and information comes out when an exploit is released but not really how we get to an emulation front.

I just got a $700 PC with a 2080ti and 3900x and it's my first PC. Definitely going to emulate all nintendo games from all generations. Along with PS3 games.

If the PS4 remake of Medievil gets good enough to emulate I may finally play it. I doubt Sony will ever make a pc port of that game since it's not an overly popular series.

It's so weird that no one even tried to make PS4 up until very recently. The Switch got working emulators in its first year and the PS4 just now starting. (I know the Switch is a much simpler system but still)

Hopefully this is the last generation that will ever need emulation. With exclusives coming to PC, even years later, these games should last indefinitely rather than be left to die on aging platforms.

I rember the same experience whith the beginning of the ps2 emulator at the time, when games started working at 1 FPS/sec, i was so exited, now, the complete library works flawlessly. patience is a virtue

I REMEMBER BACK TO THE NES 8BIT EMULATORS AND THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE JUST THE BEST THING EVER MADE ON PC.. Yes it was a great emu n still are n the games are still playable even in 2024 the fun is still to be had(atleast for an old man like me!!!).. Games in 8bit like Metroid+kid icarus and alot of oldies but goldies....16bit came soon after n the 1st xbox emu was what i feel like not that extremly long ago??? Or was it a long time ago? Playstation 4+5 games are a bit to new for me to remember w happines...But ps1+2+3 are right in the years i grew up together w the nes 8bit+c64+amiga 500 consols that was the greatest things ever(it was fun back then and still are today) Thanks 4 videos of this...i hope for the younger generation that ps4+5 wont be lost in the ps only library in the future...So keep working

I dunno… PS4 emulation seems “sus” considering most people AND DEVS are still developing for it. Even Naruto Storm Connections and the new Cod MW3 will be PS4 games with a PS5 port!

A compatibility layer would be a better description because the PS4 is basically a PC with a locked down proprietary operating system.

In general PC gaming has come a long way. You can play legit 1st party games from Sony and Xbox AND you can also emulate.

It baffles me they haven't just ported this game to PC already. Even without the remaster treatment and just a basic 60fps patch it would be an easy sale for a lot of us.

I was watching a Dvision 2 stream on twitch and was kinda shocked when the streamer brought up that one day the game will be dead and it hit me. Literally years worth of progress, grinding, buying dlc / cosmetics all gone because the company’s deem it doesn’t make enough money. Live services are becoming the new digital only games that get lost in time. In 10 years from now anyone who wanted to try the division will have to use an emulator with some sort of always online bypass.

I've been dabbling in emulation since about 2001. I have a soft spot for older stuff, and am not really bothered that we can't play PS exclusives on PC. Emulation is not about taking away the only 2 good exclusives PlayStation has, it's about preserving all the stuff that is lost to the ages, because the companies behind these games don't give a damn anymore. Sony definitely gives a damn about Bloodborne, because it's one of the two games, the other being Gran Turismo Current Version, that sells their consoles.

I waited years to be able to play Bloodborne on PC at 60 fps. Meanwhile, NEW console games are being released to run at 30 fps. Same as 10-20 years ago. Starfield will be 30 fps...
