Can see I had a little feature at the start of this video! I had a good run, but had issues with fuelling, so was prone to stomach cramps from 17km onwards. Still managed a time of 1:21:29, although I was on pace for a sub 80 minutes! Next time.

Hey Ben. You might recognise me. I met you before I knew what a legend you were. Love your videos and love the gopro runs. I did my first ever race... London Marathon with gopro selfie stick. Seems like you hold it on your hand. Hard enough holding selfie stick. Have to say I agree, tower bridge one of the best moments and canary wharf and cutty sark. The streets of London will never be seen the same. Keep this videos coming. Glad you and Sarah are back in Greenwich and recovered so well after the UTMB nightmare💪

Great to see you both back out running after UTMB, but I have to correct your final point ... Running is about many highs and the *occasional* low, and we have to be careful not to let the lows take precedence. I had an awful marathon training run a few weeks back and a running "friend" who I've yet to meet reminded me of this, and every long run since has been awesome/bearable 😅

You two are amazing. A great result for both of you. Amazing time Ben. 👍🏻 My first time running this event and loved it! Been struggling with training a little in ‘22 as I had tendonitis develop in my right foot earlier in the year and then the heatwave hit which was just frustrating more than anything, although it was good practice for that tunnel. 😂 Anyway. 1h 52m was my finishing time which I’m pretty happy with. I did Paris half in March in 1h 45m but it was much cooler and I’d already done three 15 mile runs leading up to it so just generally much better prepared. Positives, loved Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, organization was pretty good, crowd support was great too. Negatives? The start was a bit of a non-event compared to other races I’ve done, I held around for my actual start time but I shouldn’t have bothered and just started when I arrived, the cobbles were hard work and that slight hill on the last km was just really annoying when the legs have had enough. 😂 The tunnel I can cope with, no problem 👍🏻 Guernsey Half and Runway run coming up in a few weeks but hoping to take part in the Landmarks Half for ‘23.

I felt really proud of myself during that run...although I was only 6th placer in that race. I really enjoyed watching your videos, it fuels me to do better in my trainings. Keep posting mate and I will just be here to support your channel...💪💪💪👍👍👍♥️

Drove a 4 hour round trip from Brum but felt it was very disappointing for my first London race. Very flat atmosphere, I felt the Cockneys were more bothered about the inconvenience than the race, and what was the crack with that long long walk to get a tee shirt? Glad to see you are running again though and I am 3 weeks away from doing one of your Marathon trading plans, which are very good Ben, fir my maiden Marathon in Chester in October

Narrowly missed me at 5:57 in the video in that little crowd waiting to start behind you. One mistake I made in this race was to take a piece of chocolate from a stranger kindly standing with a tray in Wapping. I wanted water so badly after this and the next water station wasn’t for a while and it was the Lucozade one which I didn’t drink! This was a great training run for London in less than a month.

Had a great time running the big half. The best thing that happened on the day was at the end when a older chap who I thought was in his late 50s starting chatting to me. When I asked him how he got on he told me he ran a 1:49 which isn’t bad for a 69 year old!! I was so impressed. He had run tons of marathons as well with a sub 3 hour best them. He was a complete gent, and it was great chatting. He said to me that when I’m 69 I should run a 1:49 and I promised him I would. I intend to keep that promise.
