The more I watch these RC videos, the more I realize how much these cars can really withstand. And when they do break, it’s usually understandable. I mean you gotta admit, the Kraton hit that wet, muddy, small grass burm going nearly 57mph brother. 😂 And you were braking at the time of impact. So the Kratons front end was nose diving on impact 💪 The sheer momentum that thing had to have, weighing 30lbs. I’m impressed all that broke was the pin, and the bumper mount looked cracked too. A lesser RC woulda been mangled. That’s a stubbed big toe for the Kraton 😎
Really enjoyed this video bro. All of em are good, always super genuine. Trucks looked great and even if one is more enjoyable than the other nothing gets better than running all three back to back to back
Xmaxx still the king, I have the rtr oc8s and rtr 8s Kraton and although they more powerful, I've had em 6 months and had replace several parts on each. The xmaxx I've had since Feb of last year so almost year and a half and not 1 thing have I had to replace. I swapped a max 6 esc in, left everything else box stock and made a huge difference! I say get an oc and xmaxx both and ull be on cloud 9! Jaytee been pushing that cracked servo for a while now on his xmaxx, and still works haha
JayTee Good video. You show us what the vehicles can do but I think the best part is your commentary. Testing the Redcat Kaiju with these trucks would have been cool. They have been stepping their game up lately.
Xmaxx is hands down a better option. Cheap parts and available everywhere. I have ran mine into several trees and rolled it like gymnist without it breaking anything! I recommend the Xmaxx for anyone shopping for a monster truck. Arrma parts prices made me go with Traxxas.
The part's made you go to traaxaas lol they're parts and prices are absolutely the worst yeah you get it anywhere but who cares? Who wants to spend 50.00 for 2 front shocks smh or 90.00 for a wack ass 5200 Mah lipo at 50c 1 battery??? Lol slash 4x4 is the best vehicle they make the rest is overated in my opinion.
I can’t never end a run on a bad jump either 😅 I keep saying just one more just one more good one. But that’s what this hobby is about just having good fun with them.
I have all 3 as well! My Kraton 8s just sits on the shelf (not sure or have reasons why). I guess mainly cause the XMaxx had always been my go to basher. I just recently picked the 8s & 6s Outcast EXB'S. With the (2) batteries etc in the 8s Outcast, that damn thing weighs like 28lbs-shes a freaking beast. When it hits, it hits hard due to the weight. If your a true basher I feel you can't have one without the other (Xmaxx & 8s Outcast EXB). I feel Traxxas did a great job keeping the weight down on that Xmaxx. I've bashed the hell out of that thing & only upgraded when something breaks. It was orginally a 6s Xmaxx that's how old it is. I think I have my mind set on unloading several of my larger RCs simply cause I pretty much grab either the Xmaxx or 8s Outcast. So I'm going to try to unload/sell my larger RCs I never run. Anyone have any suggestions on a good way to sell like brand new RCs? Should I do Ebay? Facebook? I have atleast (6) 1/5 & 1/6 scale RCs I wanna sell. Thx for the video man!
I have a kraton and love it. I may pick up an outcast soon. Those trucks are built like tanks. The only thing I ever break on my kraton is rear axles and rear diffs but I just installed an aluminum diff cup in the rear so that issue should be good now.
Just got an Outcast 8s from the sale! Look forward to playing :). Can already tell you I’m more comfortable running xmaxx around trees etc on trails. Barely clip a tree etc and those big arrmas are done!
I use cheap 99-cent Chinese drill bits to make all my hinge pins. They are cheap but a bit stronger than the stock ones. They also shatter rather than bend which saves your A-arm in hard crashes. You can make 2 hinge pins with one bit. I use the longer concrete drill bits. You will need a dye to put threads on pins depending on the RC car.
Ive done some silly stupid stuff with my Xmaxx and its taken it like a champ. Armma makes a great product too. Ive got a Senton and a Typhon and have been eyeing the Kraton 8s for awhile.
Not sure if the xMaxx is stock but if so, try going with a 22t pinion and 50t spur, it'll have better air control and a bit more speed/torque 👍🏾 maybe not as much power as the bigger motor K8s or O8s but should help and still be stock 👍🏾
I might haft to change my pick the Kraton RTR is 899.00 & now traxxas has the Xmaxx priced up at 999.00 that’s a set of extra wheels or lipos what y’all think
That was actually a pretty tough hit look how much dirt was stuck in the front. It just hit on enough of an angle. I really wanted to see all 3 on the same jumps. My front pin exploded the same way it barely bent the arm but broke in 3 spots.
Yeah it was a pretty bad hit but I got it fixed. Some of that mob was when I actually went down I thinking too the trench and all that mud came up on it. But I replace the hinge pin and it's all good now :-) I'll try to get them all back out again if I can
I have all three and love all three of them 😁. I'll say this though : the Arrma 8s trucks are more expensive to upgrade and more expensive to maintain for sure compared to my upgraded Xmaxx trucks. Xmaxx is still king of durability when it comes to bad landings, concrete jumping and the skatepark
Watching this a second time before I take my dog to chase his Notorious and friend's Typhon 🤣. As fun as it is... it sucks when someone else's dog tears your rig up when you weren't there for that.
Aye Jay if you could only have one between the 3 which would you take. I currently have a 4x4 rustler vxl but looking to add something bigger to bash with. I hate how the rustler body slaps the ground when you jump it.
What about the extra weight the Outcast is carrying , how do you find it in terms of control in the air , does it help or a need for more practice to master it ?
Max is durable and that's awesome it's a tough RC for sure but far as all around RCs the Kraton is pretty dang tough and a lot better race truck which I know the X wasn't made for racing specifically The Outcast is no slouch on short tracks it may give the Kraton a challenge hehe Outcast is not a bad basher also I'm more of a racer do but bashing is a ball don't get me wrong 😂 Cool comparison did video 🔥👍✌️
@@JayTeeRC Thank-You. Like you said, the X Maxx is pretty slick out of the box (with a couple suspension and durability mods, but none to the driveline on mine). It just feels less intimidating to drive and controls flips almost effortlessly. The Arrmas are both less tame and not as easy to land after they leave the quarter pipe at the skate park. lol
@@mikeallen6127 so you like the xmaxx better? I do love the looks of the armas over the taxxas pure truck looks. Im debating on getting an 8s since i have to run in grassy areas alot I have a K6s so been leaning towards an outcast for the 8s.
@@JayTeeRC I bought this more or less to be my stunt truck like my 3XLE. Skateparks, bike jumps, ripping across rock riddled areas. Obviously I already know about the chassis issues and already plan on getting a 7075 chassis. Basically it comes down to what issues do you feel need to be addressed the most with general use?
I see the Kraton gets broken in the videos almost every time, i think it has durability issues, i have the Xmaxx 8S since 6 months now, all the parts are still the original, i have two arrma sentons for my kids, i almost spent around $400 in parts for the two, i think that says it all about arrma.
Dude your nuts and one of one person in a million that says Arrma is less durable than Traxxas lmao, I also have the newest 3S Senton and it's only broke after hitting a concrete wall...
@@Skiller7777 tell arrma, maybe you got a lemon? I replaced my erevo servos to one metal gear high torque the first week but that's a well known issue...idk what's wrong with your senton, it's not very typical.
@ Alex Keller. I am here to see a comparison of these three because, even though I wish I could afford all three in my stable, right now I can only buy one. I don’t know ….. I have both brands of vehicles. I have a Mojave and a Senton 3SBLX, plus a TRX4 crawler. Love them all. Good engineering in all 3. Have not broken anything on anyone of them yet,and my wife and I have tried, believe me. A part of me REALLY wants the Kraton 8s EXB, but, like you, it appears that most videos have breakage involved. Therefore, my interest has focused more on the Outcast and the XMaxx…..just give me a while to settle down on the $100 price increase on the XMaxx recently for no reason……I would have settled even for a $20 improvement on their speed control to constitute the $100 increase
I haven't watched yet I can already tell ya the Kraton is the best I agree with everything you said The Outcast is awesome as well 🔥👍✌️ It hit pretty hard look at all the mud and grass smashed in there Driver error lol not truck error Kraton is the best all around RC truck 🔥👍✌️
Great video. The Kraton was yelling "Brake, Brake, Brake!!!!" I'ts all good I still want one. I have a stock Xmaxx. what gearing you suggest for 42-44mph on grass?
@@travallen5481 I put the 50T spur and a 20T pinion in my X Maxx and it runs beautiful but I'm not a heavy basher so and I live in this city of Philadelphia
Yes everyone the X MAXX is very durable. The Arma trucks seem to.bresk much faster then any traxxas trucks, my.next truck.ism getting is the new arrma talion EXB , for racing on a track , peace yall
Hey man with the outcast if you can remember where you running 29/47 gearing?. Still using same gearing now? ty. I saw your speedrun where you where running 29/47 and getting 55+ I thought that would be 29/39 gearing lol.
@@JayTeeRC spektrum 5000mah 30c. I thought about the c rating being the issue but I was pretty sure the spektrum packs were under rated, and actually closer to 50c.
