The most powerful of all, this scene and the scene from Everything Everywhere All At Once when Evelyn thinks about all of the moments with her and Waymond made me weep.
A lot of people were insulted by the “skip intro” button popping up during the opening titles, but I find it way more appalling that the “next episode” button pops up when the credits start rolling at the end of “Dear Billy.”
For me, the part that really gets the chills going is how the orchestra swells to a crescendo, almost drowning out Kate's voice, but you can still hear it, almost like a rallying cry behind the music as Max keeps running. Running up that hill. :)
I have been looking for this version forEVER. This is honestly the best arrangement of this song the series gave us. Just that whole orchestration beat matched with Max running from Vecna's gasp, all those warm memories coming back, the debris falling around her... and then that soft remix at the very end? Pure beauty.
There are some remixes which just ruins the original song but there are some which elevates and enhances the beauty of original song And this song is that one brilliant just brilliant.....love the new version of running up that hill
I remember watching this scene with my dad. When it ended, we looked at each other and simultaneously said "holy shit." Truly epic scene, and amazing season.
This gave max a new hope to live And in reality too there are lots of people like max around the world who need to wake up from their darkness and need to live and enjoy life again they should hear this song and remember life is beautiful and sorrows are just part of life and not life.
I believe the intent of your comment is kind/positive, but as a person with bipolar disorder, I can unfortunately attest that one’s ability to overcome the depths of depression is far, FAR more complicated than “…need[ing] to wake up from their darkness…” - and that mental health challenges are very different from the sorrows experienced in life by us all. 😊🙏
Old comment but this is why I got so upset that she ended up living. There was a period of time in my life where I struggled a lot with depression and I made a lot of suicide attempts, and seeing that last scene really reminded me of that time. It reminded me of when I downed a bunch of pills and my mother found me, and I spent the rest of the night lying in her arms while she read Romeo and Juliet to me, crying because I felt so sick and I was afraid to actually die. That scene ‘triggered’ me but in the best, most healing way. And then the show ended up saying « sike » and it ruined that totally personal experience for me lol
My older kid's were trying to get me to watch it for year's, I just binged watched it, s4 e4 was one of my favorites, now I gotta wait to see s5, I'm 52 I was 15 when this song was played, so a lot of nostalgia, great show.
this song is so special to me because it refresnces that you can escape depression and no matter what you do u can alway "run up that hill" even a year later im typing this because during the following months my brother realized that he wants to live after an attemp of sucide.
2:30-2:53 I was hysterically crying because I feared in my heart that Vecna (who embodies depression and mental darkness) had taken Max. I’ve never felt so relieved and scared in my life 😞
While I would've liked to see Stranger Things take a different direction after season 1 this scene with it's emotion and themes mixed with the music is one of the best in media in my opinion.
@@ananziii It wouldn’t really. The season was building up to Max’s sacrifice to actually confront her demons in order for everyone to save Hawkins but ultimately failing. Her fate was inevitable as it plays down to her own mortality. She escaped him once, but it was always gonna get her. It would’ve added more salt to the wound and the Duffers cop out to kill off any main character. Also, what’s letting Max live gonna do: her family life is shit, her body suffered so much damage and she’s potentially blind by Vecna. No soul searching across the UD will fix her.
@@madcapmakov2 My main problem is how that would end her arc. Throughout the season she had been feeling that the world is cruel, shes a horrible person who doesnt deserve anything. But during ep 4. we do actually begin to see her change for the better, and learning to rely on others. But in the final episode she does return to her darkness again. And she does try to escape, but when she gets trapped by Vecna again, she doesnt fight back anymore. I really dont think her arc ending with her relaspe is a good choice. It thematically ends with, the world is cruel and give up. It doesnt inspire hope or help them defeat vecna in any way. That actually helps him. If they keep her alive, shes mangaled and blind and needs help to function. That really continues her arc of learning to accept help from others, because now she is more dependent. This could resolve her arc. Plus id rather not end her subject matter the same way lights out did.

i think max is gonna die in season 5 or will either have to leave the team until they defeat vecna because she is now blind how would she keep up with the team or if there is some sort of weird illusion that gets her sight back

I couldn't find it anywhere so I used a program called 4k video downloader and extracted the audio from this video in high def, then I just put that on my phone. Bit of a work around, but it works
