A very entertaining evening spent at Bletchley on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from London Northwestern Railway, Avanti West Coast and freight from Royal Mail, GBRF, Freightliner, DB Cargo UK, DRS and Network Rail.
Bletchley was built in 1846 by the London and Birmingham Railway once the line was completed from London Euston to Denbigh Hall which was located roughly 1 mile north of Bletchley station. This was at first considered a major station due to the fact that Milton Keynes hadn't been built let alone even thought of yet. Once Milton Keynes had been constructed the importance of Bletchley really fell away especially when the East - West route had been downgraded. This isn't to be confused with the new East - West rail link that is currently being constructed from Oxford to Cambridge, since my last visit the station on that section of the line is really coming along with both tracks now laid and ballasted on the flyover.
