Despite 30 points from LeBron James and being huge favorites entering the game, the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the undermanned Portland Trail Blazers 107-105. Russell Westbrook missed his first game of the year, officially listed out with "back tightness," but LA still managed to have 21 turnovers without him. Everyone is so quick to blame a 33 year old Russ but the real reason their not gonna win this season is because AD. At age 28 in his physical prime he just doesn’t know how to impose his will throughout the entire game and when he tries to put his max effort he ends up getting injured. 11:40 since Bron just had got a dunk prior to that, he wanted to pass it to THT to get the ball back on a lob to go for the home run play. that’s what happens ALOT with these lakers, they finally get a stop and it gets to their head that they HAVE to do a home run play instead of just making the simple basketball play that requires literally no skill but just to be fundamentally sound. Blazers did everything possible to let the lakers win but Lakers body language was the most “idgaf” attitude I seen all season.

yea blazers missed almost all their 3s in the first half. You would think lebron and AD would take advantage of that to build up a significant lead and basically put the game away in the 3rd quarter. What did AD do in the first half? Shot the ball 4 times and got 5 points. That is actually insane to me when he's going against nurkic. AD is just soft.

Westbrick is a huge problem but the main problem is they have 6-7 guys starting or playing heavy rotation minutes that would be racking up DNP-CD’s on just about any other team. Avery Bradley got cut from the Warriors and is starting. Stanley Johnson got cut from the Raptors yet he’s a top player on this team. Those two and THT, Reaves, Dwight, Ariza would barely be getting minutes on any other team, but they’re the Lakers main guys. That’s the problem. Should have traded Kuz, Trezz and KCP for some better rotational players instead of Russ’s bloated contract and awful shooting and ball-handling.

Yep put AD as the center and Russ as PG Malik Monk SG and Lebron James either SF or PF on the high or low post and he can still be the point guard just like how Jokic is LBJ don’t have to handle the ball to be the true PG just get the ball in the post read the defence and facilitate or score, This is why I miss Kobe because Lebron loves dancing around the 3 point line and Kobe don’t care who bringing up the ball he’s getting to his spots and demanding for the ball, This is the difference between dancing around the court rather than picking your spots

It’s almost like a team that doesn’t move much on either side, atleast slower, had a compensating spark plug that forced action but had no other choice at times . Pace of play slows, rebounding slows, outlets slow…Thus when said spark plug is missing, another fills the role and it shows in their play. Russ was hiding a symptom of the Lakers. He isn’t the disease. Been saying this for months.

NBA is trash! players have way too much power. if players don't get their way, they fake injuries or turn into drama queens. look at J Harden - was in Houston (played with howard, paul and westbrook and all got traded away) then he wanted out of houston and was excited to go to Nets and less than 60 games played he wanted out of Brooklyn too. that hamstring will miraculously improve in 24 hours.
