I genuinely feel like despite the 21/7 stat line of TD/INT, yes Russ hasn't played with mind blowing numbers. But its the game winning drives, off script magic, and constant battle to be better then the week before that is why Broncos had a amazing 5 game stretch of W's. Yeah he gets tipped passes, yeah one could say hes too small to see the wrs get open, yeah he holds on to the ball too long at times. But the "Russ magic" or "off script" plays that doesn't have a specific stat line for is where the Broncos decided to make the move for him. I can Guarantee Sean could have a general low tier QB and make due with the small cookie cutter conservative play calling, but that isn't where the W's this year have come from. Its been from the execution and off script magic that everyone loves when it works but hates when it doesn't, from Russ. Yes Defense had an insane amount of forced turnovers that helped, although they aren't at the helm dictating what flys and what doesn't. Comeback drive from bears, Russ. Drove down late to put up game winning FG against packers, Russ. 3 TDs against a hot Chiefs D and at a dominant performance, Russ. Following that, against the Bills; the lowest percentage of a completion in Amazons stat casting history for a game changing TD to Sutton that eventually led into a drive down the field to kick a game winning FG the next possession, Russ. Drove down late again to put out the hot Vikings and end it with an off script TD to Sutton, Russ. Finally to cap it off with their 2nd most points scored in a game vs a very prolific Browns D, Russ. Following this; DESPITE the very bad performance overall offensively and defensively, the broncos were once again, with the ball in their hands with 7 yards to go to win the game. Guess who drove them down once it mattered with the game on the line? Mr. Unlimited. So the hate he gets when broncos lose is absurd while when we win, no one has anything negative to say. The offense is SO CLOSE to being meshed together and clean, it should inspire optimism that Sean and Russ are doing this in their first year together. IDK about the rest of Broncos Country, but as you can tell, I am a glass half full kind of guy. Feast or Famine for sure, but lets be real here; the NFL QBs this year have all been underperforming despite record, stat-line, etc (except a few). Broncos fans will soon appreciate Russ as he will retire rocking the blue and orange #3 and not green and blue #3. He needs like 100 more yards to be the 19th best QB in NFL history with passing yards. & that's because he had a outlier year with Hackett for a whole 15 games. He could of broken that record last year for all we know. ANYWAYS Broncos should go 10-7, 11-6 or 9-8 and potentially squeeze a playoff spot with other AFC teams losing QB's, momentum, etc.

There were definitely 2 or so plays where Jeudy was open. A couple just really bad breaks like the tip that lead to the pick and the one that was a TD but 24 just managed to find the ball and make a crazy play on it. Almost never happens with a CB at full sprint trying to catch a receiver with his back to the ball. Wilson made some great throws and missed a few bad too.

Russ is adjusting his game I think DK said something like when he's running a route after a few seconds he knows to go to scramble drill. Which means Russ didnt always go through his progression bc the play broke down. He's deep ball improved as the game went on but he just needs to trust his guys and trust the playbook. It's not Seattle ball anymore

I’m a broncos fan and I know Russ ain’t perfect but man sometimes when I watch the game I think of why this concept when is like 3rd and 2. Get the first down and then take shot . Our receivers show flashes but a lot of times they just miss the catches that we really need.

I couldn't help but notice the offensive line doing a great job in those clips you showed. We've been missing that so much, so seeing the improvements from the o-line is great! With that said, there were a couple plays that they could have given Russ another second or two - I also think that Bolles might have been in Russ' way in one of those clips, preventing Russ from seeing the open man.

Russ is very dependent on big plays, that a few missed long ball passes (due to over/under throws or drops), completely changes the narrative as to whether he had a good or bad game.

No one can blame the TE, because it was a horrible pass on 3rd down. Yeah if threw the ball further and higher, then TE will have a chance. We finally become relevant with Wilson and some so called fans have the nerve to make everything negatively personal between them and RW. Complete nonsense. RW is a very good QB. Has anyone else seen how Javonte basically takes out Meinerz with a blindside shot at 7:50 as he's leaking out? He's actually trying to sneak out between Meinerz and the DT he's supposed to block. Wtf is supposed to happen there? Free runner, that's what. Shouldn't he be aware that with 4 down lineman and everyone else deep for the D he's in no hurry to get out as a hot? If he sees Meinerz in trouble give that DT a little shoulder bump from the OTHER side and Russ has all the time in the world to step up and make the deep throw. Doesn't that make you want to pull our hair out as a coach?

When Russ hurt his thumb...he started playing different. A couple years ago with Seattle, he banged his hand on the pass rush helmet, and missed a bunch of weeks. Ever since, he plays different. Some of these three step drops...even if there is pressure...he needs to just throw the ball. Its a quick drop and quick read...just throw it. But he just doesnt hit different anymore.

If the Broncos keep him, that’s another $37 million they have to pay on top of what they’re already dealing with. There’s no way that Russ is playing well enough to warrant that. He’s gone end of season. Needs to be benched before he gets hurt or that $37 million becomes guaranteed regardless.
@Eric-zs6rd
@Eric-zs6rd 9 месяцев назад
Who else is going to play for 37 mil? Your only option is the draft for that kind of money or a Daniel Jones type player. Oh wait Jones is still over your budget hes like 40 mil. You're getting what you paid for
@Markephillips77
@Markephillips77 9 месяцев назад
@@Eric-zs6rd that’s the point. You’re not getting what you paid for. Neither are the Giants with Jones. Yes, the Broncos would have to draft a QB. They’ve needed to do that since they knew that Drew Lock wasn’t the guy. Even with trading for Russ they still should have drafted a guy to develop. They also should’ve waited to extend Russ until they saw him play, but that’s unfortunately not what happened.
