Russell Wilson Met With HEAVY Boos For Return To Seattle With Broncos | Pat McAfee Reacts 

Dont forget the fact that there was a mini reunion for Seattle last night... of players that all may have not liked Russ. Marshawn, Doug Baldwin, Sherman, Sydney Rice, KJ Wright.. All there. Sherm and Marshawn were also helping out at practice last week, because they feel like they can walk into the building again.

I can almost guarantee, when Bobby comes back to Seattle in Week 18, there will only be cheering.

Bobby Wagner will get a standing ovation when he returns to Seattle. But Bobby did not throw his O-Line under the bus. He did not say that in Denver, he doesn't have to worry about having to carrying the team , he did not name 4 teams he would go to and he did not put his house up for sale before the trade ink was dry.

I don't understand why anyone thought Wilson would get a warm welcome in Seattle. It's not the same as when Brady left or Manning left their teams. Wilson forced his way out of Seattle he didn't want to be there so the fans booed him. How is that so hard to understand? How is that surprising?

I grew in the Seattle area, and I'll tell you that when he was Captaining our team, especially in the early Legion of Boom days, there was a very special energy towards those players. Russell was a part of that, but his ego seems developed to the point that he believes he's better than everyone in the arena, including the 12th man. I really liked seeing the original Legion of Boom back in the building. I hope some of them come back as coaches or advisors for our new line-up. Go 'Hawks!

People booed Russ because he turned heel to the Seattle fans. He was this humble kid who was "just happy to be here" and as his legacy grew he became kind of a Diva, who complained his way out of town.

Farve; Drama+going to a rival=Booed when he returned to GB. Wilson; Forcing his way out=Booed when he returned to SEA. Manning; Cut, didn't wanna leave= Cheered in Indy Brady=Left in free agency, won 6 titles= Cheered in NE. It's pretty simple.

Geno Smith looks really good, emotional game, he deserved this. He has been patient and focused.

The return games are all about the mental mind games. The tribute to Peyton in Indy when he came back was to get him out of his dialed in I’m gonna smoke your team mindset. He had to take off his helmet wave and smile to the crowd, and connect with the fan base again before killing em. “Legacy” is important to Russell. So before he came out to the field the Seahawks organization paid tribute to Russell’s old teammates. Some of whom probably leaked that stuff to the press. Then after those guys get cheered Russ has to trot out and get showered with boos. That was mental mind game genius

I think the beef between Seattle and Wilson is that for years since 2017 really, it would be constant news headlines of "RUMORS FROM WILSON'S CAMP he wants out of Seattle, he wants this, he wants that, etc" the team 3 stuff frustrated us and wore us out. I honestly felt so much better when he got traded because that rumored drama was over. We aren't burdened with Wilson consequences and we aren't burdened with expectations.

As a Seattle fan it brings back memories of how A-Rod acted to us back in the day. When he enters the ring of honor of if he decides to retire here we will cheer for him, until then he is the enemy. Go Hawks!

Interesting take by people that us booing someone that actively wanted to leave would affect future signings. Hawks don't play guys injured, they make sure everyone gets paid, the culture in the building is fun and allows players to be themselves, and the fans go nuts for you when you're on the team.

Are we just not gonna talk about the two incompletions that should've been easy interceptions? Lotta people like to point out that those two fumbles were freak plays and shouldn't be held against the Broncos but no one wants to mention that Russ still has a habit of trying to force feed throws where they shouldn't go.

It is this simple. When Russ first became a Seahawk he was all about team. Today he is all about Russ. He changed!

The Colts gave up on Manning. The Pats gave up on Brady. The Hawks coddled fragile Russ his entire career. He then became a diva, used the media to feed the drama, and orchestrated a trade. Huge difference. He went too far. F him.

There’s a big difference in Russ and his return vs all the others. Russ literally just caused turmoil his last several years in Seattle. Yo-yo’d constantly about if he was gonna be around or not. He commanded huge contracts and then bitched about the team. Then ultimately he CHOSE to leave. Most of these other people were chased out of town or moved. There is a real animosity between the fans and Russ now.

I work right across the street from Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. There were so many Broncos fans and they were the most obnoxious creatures, with their stupid orange jerseys that said Wilson with its stupid 3. They forgot what city they were in. And you guys make it seem like we think Russ is responsible for what made this team special the last ten years. We cheered for him when he played for us and we’ll cheer when they put his jersey in the rafters. But he’s not gonna come in here and act like we owe him one. Go hawks

As many have said below, as a Seahawks fan, I still wish Russell Wilson well and I hope he torches the AFC. That being said, he's a Bronco now and anytime he faces my Seahawks he's the enemy and will be treated as such.

As a Seahawk fan since the early 2000's... I think there's a lot of us who saw Russ's demeanor subtly change over his tenure with the Seahawks. At some point, he evolved from lovable underdog to an insufferable douchebag a.k.a Mr. Unlimited. fans complaining about the booing are so soft. in a sport where players run full speed into each other, players literally try to take each others head off (it's not legal but people still try lol), and booing is what upset people? 1. russ chose to leave seattle, he wasn't forced out like wagner or brady. 2. russ didn't win us a superbowl, he was the qb and he played a big part, but it was lynch and our defense that won it. 3. regardless of whether he was our qb or not, he isn't now, his is no longer on the team and his job is now to make us lose, why would I cheer that?

The crazy thing about the offense for that was that it was the first game where the entire starting offense was together. I completely forgot about that until today and it could very easily be a good or bad year for the Seahawks but it will definitely be interesting to watch.

Hollyruss put in some good years for sure, but lets not forget the two SB we got to and the one we one was all D since we had the #1 D for like 4 years straight. The D single handedly beat the greatest offense in the history of the NFL. The next year he threw like 5 picks in the NFC championship and it took a miracle and some poor dude sacrificing his career for the Hawks to get the W. After that, the D disbanded, we paid Russ and never sniffed the NFC Championship game. So ya, we booed that hollywood pre-maddona clown. Good luck Broncos lol.

The point of having fans at sporting event (or any event) is for the cheers AND BOOS. It's odd that overtime, athletes seem to forget, the fans are not there as their personal confidence booster. They cheer when they want to cheer, and boo when they want to. There is no situation where it's not okay for the fans to boo.

I love Russell. He helped bring us to our first super bowl ring and took us to another. He was a valued part of our community. But when the pads came on he was the enemy. He was in our house dressed in enemy colors and we let him have it. There will be a time to celebrate his career, last night wasn’t it.

The difference between Wilson and guys like Manning or Brady is that as the years went on it became harder and harder to believe Wilson. It became harder to actually believe he was a Seahawk rather than a Team #3. Manning and Brady not only earned the respect of their previous teams, but they weren't fake, or come off as fake. Wilson has been nothing but cliche phrases in everything he says. It feels like he is less about winning as a team, and more about making ESPN highlight plays, and building the Wilson name. I would say when so many Seahawks legends who played with Wilson seem to have a distain for the guy.......it kind of validates the 12's booing. Wilson didn't leave with a desire to stay. He wanted to leave. He wants to be a celebrity QB, and that's fine. But being a celebrity QB doesn't necessarily win championships, and it more than likely breeds a self centered ego. Something I think Wilson might have now. Last night Wilson got to play the kind of ball he wanted Seattle to let him play: lots of passing and less running. The guy ran one time for 2 yards!!! He wants to be a pocket passer and he's not one. I digress. With all that said, I believe in the long run, the Seahawks made the right choice, and the 12's had every right to boo like they did. I honestly lost respect for Russell at the time of his last contract, was it two years a go? I said to myself - myself, why isn’t he like Tom Brady? Don’t take all that money. If you want better linemen give up some of that to make a better team just like the Patriots. That’s when I notice that he was all talk and it was all about himself. So I’m not surprised at all that he was booed so hard last Monday. He actually deserved it.

The next season, russ throws 4 picks in the nfc championship, to have our special teams and defense bail him out. Then in the super bowl, he gets what he wants. The ball on the goal line to win the super bowl. Throws a pick. Our defense time and again for 5-7 years, bailed russ out, and kept things manageable so that russ could win on a last second drive. But i cant recall a time, if there was any, when russell wilson actually single handedly kept the hawks alive in a game due to his play. Russell wilson is overrated. He is selfish. He is self richous. He is a distraction. I am forever grateful for his efforts in helping the hawks win their first super bowl. For the pick he threw on the goal line, and for the distraction he had been his last 3 years in seattle... i dont even wanna see him in the seahawks ring of honor. He is a bigger let down than the last 2 seasons of game of thrones.
