Hey Artur I was wondering if you have talked about how Russia has taken down the blockade they had on the Estonian/Russian border and what does this mean to you and other Estonians.
What fundraiser did you start giving patches out and how much did you have to donate? I donated $20 before your last Ukraine trip and am wondering if I should be looking for a patch.
@@tariredom7615 Translation; "52 countries against Russia And you didn't take a single village in the counteroffensive. The whole world laughs at NATO. Putin is the daddy of the game." There, I fixed it IVAN 👍
Also, the fact that the Su-57 was still parked on the apron where it was struck by the drone tells you that the Russian command didn't feel it was worth moving/it was unable to move. They would have patched it up and flown it somewhere else if they could have, like the rest of the airplanes that were parked there.
@@engliterra355Officially Russia has only a few thousand lost troops and officially they destroyed more Himars and Patriot systems than Ukraine ever had.
Russia don't have aircraft Hangars ???????? They are necessary To protect from Environmental elements Lack of maintenance And the lack of Hangers ????????? Behold, second most powerful army In Ukraine.
Yes, it is odd that they do not build hangars. Denys Davydov also suggested that the shadows on the ground were caused by some kind of anti-drone netting or cage above the plane, but that would not provide all-round protection or 'hard' protection.
Then consider how Ukraine has been busy since before new-years to build suitable and protected facilities for the F16 divas to arrive... and that's not even close to a 5th gen jet... Denmark has basically built an entirely new complex to take good care of the F35s that will replace the F16s we're donating... And RU leaves their "wunderwaffe" out, exposed to rain and other elements.. that can only mean that it takes an unnecessary amount of resources to maintain them in a ready-to-fly condition. But 🤷♂️ that's ruzzia... Edit: the only non-diva of modern jets is Gripen. Between flight maintenance can be done on a stretch of road with a service truck, very different approach than all the others.
It's part of their operational philosophy: equipment should be tough enough to withstand any war condition, which makes it OK to store exposed to the elements. Build it like a tractor, and leave it outside. Which is fine for some equipment, but it doesn't work for anything that needs high performance. You'll leave a truck outside, but not a race car. If you are just hauling stuff, sure, put some racing stripes and a big exhaust on the truck. If your life depends on being a little faster than the other guy, the fragile race car that needs to be stored indoors is a better choice.
200 USD paid to your fundraiser with Brandon. I challenge all supporters of Artur's Army to match or beat this. Lotsa love to Artur, your fiance, Ukraine and all supporters of Ukraine 🇺🇦 with ❤ from South Africa 🇿🇦
Many thanks 😊. What meager funds I had been able to donate to Ukraine have been diverted to our presidential campaign in the United States. I feel that by helping to defeat Donald Trump, my money will actually yield a larger impact for Ukraine.
@@mfallen2023100 percent agree with you. Anybody giving money to Biden, better hope he doesn't win because they ain't going to have no money to give to anybody if he wins
Four crashed, one burned out due to an overheating engine. Now one is gone due to the drone. Estimated production varies from 12-16. So you could be very close to the truth with your statement.
@michaelschudlak1432 comrade the su57 is a 5th gen???!!🤣🤣🤣 more like 3.5 gen prototype with the potential to be 4th gen. Comrade at supersonic speeds wings are exposed to tremendous stress and vibration- a deep scratch in a wing could cause catastrophic failure
Thanks for the fantastic updates, Artur, both on here and the Twitter~! Hope the stag party went well, and that your upcoming MARRIAGE provides you with the additional support that you need. Stay strong, my friend~!!
Today I opened my postbox and I had a surprising Arthurs Army patch inside from my penfriend Arthur Rehi. I put it to my other souvenirs, which I bought, when I was on my trip in LVIV this year. Thanks for that nice extra patch to him from Germany, Berlin
Artur, you have to remember that most missile launching air defense systems have filters on their radars that tune out slow flying objects. The reason behind this is that without that, they'd be tracking every bird and local civilian aviator that happened to be flying in their direction. Ukraine is taking advantage of this. There was a huge discussion about this back when the UA Bayraktar drones did so well and then started getting shot out of the sky. They shut down that filter along the border. Given that these Russian air bases are a long way from the border with Ukraine, there are likely many small civilian aircraft in the area every day. I think it is fantastic that Ukraine is taking advantage of this weakness.
Pretty good explanation. If you have time and resources you could develop filters capable of suppressing bird returns based on their more erratic flight path. As for civilian aviators in times of war you would normally install no-flight-zones over a wide area around your air field, wouldn't you.
It depends on the radar absorbing material. Some are weather tolerant. The very best ones, the ones that work over a wide frequency range, are not. If your goal is to build a somewhat stealthier plane that is still cheap to design, build and operate, you'll pick the all-weather layered paint. Especially if you know other aspects of the design make it pointless to do better on the coating. (Or more likely you don't even have the resources or money to develop the very best.) But your pilots must accept being second best in any type of engagement where only the winner lives. And operationally plan on having no little or no warning of an attack or fight, where you know the other side had the opportunity to not reveal themselves if they didn't have every advantage.
@@1djbeckerno, any truly stealth coating, needs to be kept in a hangar. I don't think you understand how stealth coding work and what continuous non-stop exposure to sunlight, UV rays, will truly do to it. They are not stealth aircraft by any stretch of the imagination. They may have painted it with something they think is stealth, but I guarantee it's not
Bachelor party? LOL! Congrats! May your wedding be fabulous! And may you get this GREAT gift: news of the complete and utter defeat of Putin's evil war machine!
The Soviet Union was a Goliath. The Russian Federation, it turns out, is not nearly as formidable as the USSR was. Probably because much of their talent and skill came not from Russia but from Ukraine and the Baltics (the Soviet space program, which made the USSR the first country to get into outer space, was led by Sergei Korolev, a Ukrainian)
@@cavebabybezerkersthanks for telling me you were born in the last 20 years without telling me. No RF is just a pale shadow of what was USSR. 🤣🤣🤣 Get your facts straight kid.
It is impossible to defend such a large landmass, especially for a poor country like Russia. Surely no one has forgotten Mathias Rust who landed near the red square? Ok, he was discovered before but it took time
NATO is a threat, but to Russian interests, not its existence or sovereignty. Russian leaders, for centuries, have needed and still need wars in order to remain in power, and countries joining NATO have greatly limited their options. The best Russian leader of all time is Catherine the Great, and even she needed to invade other countries to maintain her power in Saint Petersburg.
@@AstroGremlinAmerican The entire world knows that NATO is purely defensive. Orcs will lie through their filthy, rotten teeth in Black Speech that it is otherwise, but even they know.
@@dennislindqvist1265 point taken. Rust flew low and slow, like the drones. But it’s also 40 years later. I don’t believe Russian government experts feared NATO post-1993..
In terms of US geography, the strike range that destroyed the Su-57 is about equivalent to landing multiple hits on Dover Air Force Base from Toronto by overflying air defense zones in Buffalo, and terminal approach straight through the overlap between Philadelphia and Baltimore.
Low, slow and small is a huge problem for modern radar. They just aren't set to look for that stuff. It's smart to use it, but at this point in the war if they haven't brought out old flak guns, that's on them
My thoughts Exactly! They keep everything they ever made militarily, I'm sure they must have Thousands of old Flack Guns. I wonder what they're saving them for?
It's called a Bachelor's party in 'Merica and a Stag Party or Stag Weekend in most of the rest of the anglos-sphere, although pretty much anyone will understand Bachelor's party
Good to hear you managed to have a good time offline 👍 and best wishes for your upcoming wedding. And yes, it's called a bachelors party, though the traditions that comes with it may differ between countries and cultures 🙂
I think what RU is struggling with is that their S300 and 400 systems were simply not designed to react to small propeller aircraft... they ignore them because they're not programmed to consider those drones a threat. If a jet or a missile is approaching at high speed they'd probably react. I believe that's also why western air defense systems are divided into 2-3 categories... it'd be overkill to use patriots against the shahed mopeds, IRIS-T is for shorter range and then there's a slew of auto-aiming AA cannons as well. But the beauty of it all is that all the systems can be networked, so even the short range systems can be warned well ahead of time when a moped is approaching. Then it's just up to the operators to evaluate what targets are worthy to use what systems against. Anyway, still can't wait for the first F16 with a passive HARM missile attached takes a tour closely along the front line... every active S-300 or 400 within a 160km range of the aircraft will be mapped out - and that data can also be fed back into the total electronic battlefield map for everyone to use (why waste a missile if it's within artillery range?). We're seeing a drastic change already now, after some western weapons have been released for use inside RU, the Ukrainians have probably been mapping out a target wishlist all along, we may see a similar spike in success when the closest targets can be mapped automatically. The western systems are pretty much designed to establish and maintain air superiority.
Yeah, it's a bit worrying how the nationalists gained foothold in France and Germany. But overall the regular conservatives, liberals and social democrats maintained majority in the EU parliament. Anyway whoever voted for whomever, thank you for participating in our democracy.. If you don't vote, you have no right to complain afterwards. 🇪🇺🇩🇰
Artur, over here we call the bachelors' party a stag. Stag is a male deer and the male deer often herd together for most of the year. Great news today for Ukraine! I do believe Russia has to start feeling some of what they have been handing out to Ukraine over the last two years. I hope there are many more low and slow UAV victories on Russian assets in Russia. This will show Russia that they are vulnerable as well. Thanks for the energetic video.
Artur..I respect you a lot. Just because Europeans don't want foreigners on their soil, it doesn't make them bad people. You in Estonia have Russians. In Holland or France they have Russians too. They are called Turks, Arabs, Gypsies. They live in Europe but they dislike Europe , just like Russians in Estonia who live there all their life and don't speak Estonian and don't like Estonia. The one who does , should stay. I know what I am talking about. I ran away from Czechoslovakia in 1974 as 20 years old and now live in the USA. I came here so I have to adapt to their, American costumes and not Americans to mine. Foreigners in Europe don't want to be European. They want to create the Middle East in Europe. And Putin sees the weak Europe. Because of the weak politicians.
Artur, as someone from Finland I trust you (nearly) 100% as an Estonian brother, but how are you guaranteeing the donations go where they're supposed to? I feel like this deserves a video of it's own to break everything down. As you know everyone's on their toes nowadays. Europe is not stable like it used to be and I agree with you saying western and south Europe not giving a sh*t. FI and EST understand it. So does Latvia. So does Lithuania. Spain/Italy etc don't care because they have distace. Well, tanks move Italy. And soldiers move.
@@nancymilawski1048the RCS is about the size of a bumblebee on the F-22. The F-35 that of a sparrow. RCS is the radar cross section for those not in the Air Force. We use the F-35A to guide in other weapons more often than throwing bombs or shooting missiles in stealth attacks. In beast mode, the most used until now, we shoot everything ourselves. Beast mode is hanging everything in and outside destroying the stealth but in air superiority areas stealth isn't necessary.
Estimates for Su57 range from $33M to $85M. The numbers produced are small (~24) and so all the engineering and tooling setup is amortized over small quantities. Meanwhile, the drone is under $100K. Its essentially a propeller driven canard airplane with a fuel and bomb load.
Thank you, Artur, for your update. I hope, the bachelor party was a good diversion from the war. I also enjoyed your latest podcast episode with Brandon. Very good to see you two together.
