One of common supermarkets in Russia.
We have visited the "Matrix" supermarket.
Matrix is one of the most popular and biggest chain of supermarkets in Ufa, Russia.
As always in this video we are making the deepest insight there and looking at the prices for the most common products for you to compare them with the prices in your locations worldwide.

I've wanted to find a channel like this for YEARS. Wonderful tour! I am American and was quite young when the USSR dissolved. I remember feeling like there was suddenly a big mystery world to discover and I've been fascinated by Russia and Russian culture ever since. This is the sort of topic I'm most curious about. Thank you so much for letting me see Russia as it is. I'm going to subscribe right now.

+beavis simpson In the U.S., most people leave the stuff from the previous store in the trunk of their car. You can put the cold stuff in a cooler with ice in the trunk if necessary also. Do cars get robbed a lot or people ride buses more in Russia, Germany, and Spain where they have these lockers?

Thanks for the video, my friend. I used to help run a hostel here in the USA and we used to get a lot of Russian students here for the summer. I became fascinated with the culture and them. Still have many of them as friends to this day. Always wondered about stuff like the everyday lives of Russians. And this gives me a good glimpse into it. Always wanted to know this very stuff. Shows me that it isn't so different over there at all. You're doing your part in promoting peace because a lot of people seem to have wrong views of what people in other countries besides the good ol USA are like. I try to tell them that they have families, jobs, drive cars, worry about bills, etc, just like we do here. Great video!!!!

Just found your channel. I love it! Thank you so much for sharing all the places especially your Russian supermarkets. I saw a youtube video awhile back that showed a run down no food market in Russia. I felt bad for Russia and thought it was a place I would not want to go. It was scary! Thanks for making this, I like seeing videos of everyday life in other countries. The prices are low, but not as low as I expect them to be. A few of the items seem to cost more than US items like the Jack Daniels. I always thought vodka would be a lot cheaper than it is in the US, but its really not that cheap in Russia.

Sergei, if you want to open some "Western Eyes" to the foods of Russia then take your camera to the Markets, especially in the Krasnodar region. I spent the equivalent of $10 Australian and bought enough food for my fiancee and I for 3 days. The food was delicious and the marketeers would allow you to taste test - They were very friendly.

That's so similar to stores here in Michigan that it reaches Uncanny Valley territory. Because it's really close, but just a little different, and that's unsettling. ^_^ Even the prices are about what I'd expect to pay down at the Meijer a few blocks away. Except the good vodka was a lot cheaper. The fresh BREAD and produce was cheaper, too. Especially the bread, you can GET good, fresh bread here, but it costs way more.

Very interesting and enjoyable to watch. Of course, here in USA we are not shown many good things about Russia, so I am so happy to find your channel. I love learning about other countries and cultures and have loved visiting other countries. Of course now with rising prices, rising taxes and NOT rising wages I can no longer afford vacations let alone travel to other countries so I travel via internet(but cannot meet the people, see the museums or try the food this way lol. I did find the packaging colors rather strange. I noticed most are either greenish/blue, orange or white. Are these packaged by state run companies? Product packaging here has wild and crazy, chaotic colors by comparison. I am looking forward to watching your other videos.
@user-mc4ps9ik9f
@user-mc4ps9ik9f 4 года назад
Red color draws attention to the product. Cold colors (white, blue, green) are associated with freshness. Perhaps that is why these colors are used for packaging.

I have been to Russia on two occasions and both times I was amazed. The first when I was very young shopping was very interesting. You go to the counter say bread you pick what you want then you get a ticket then in the centre of the shop you pay and get a receipt then go back and pick up your bread and so on. And no bag no paper to wrap up in nothing you where just handed it. The second trip was a time of transition but still I was amazed at how it had changed very different and much the same as here in Australia.

Thank you for making this video, Someday I hope to visit Russia. I am of Cuban descent unfortunately my motherland is still under communist rule. In Cuba only the stores for the tourist are stocked. The people have little food.

A bad video filter is applied
@aleksandrgar
@aleksandrgar 7 лет назад
David Robinson that's due to color correction, isn't really filter, camera sensors don't recognize colors, if they color corrected the video according to their liking that's the end result

I would say it's because of the captured content. I tried to film in a supermarket before and everything was ugly yellowish, and every surface was mirroring and overall it was kind of bad. I guess this is how they repaired it.
