I just got my Rustler VXL a couple days ago, so seeing this video about how tough it encourages me. I must say I cringed every time you crashed yours into the ground lol. Made me glad it wasn't mine doing that. I'm not a basher, but I do enjoy hot-rodding around the dirt with mine. Eventually, I will find a place to try jumps, but not as extreme as you were doing. I want mine to last a long time. Great video! Keep them coming!

Yessss! These are the kinds of videos I love to see on RC!!! This is how I want to use my cars when I get them but I'm nervous to invest in them every time. This is a great look at how durable this thing is!! I'm always so confused as well when I see every person that has one upgrading every part before anything even breaks! This thing is a beast!

Awesome Rustler Launch Party!!

My 4x4 VXL also had the issue with the motor dislodging with hard hits. Thread lock and tightening down really hard worked well initially. I have since purchased the motor mount mesh insert and it hasn't slipped since then. A great $5 investment. Your first jump was spot on, nice correction at the last second. On the second jump I heard the throttle was still engaged when you hit which is probably why the motor mount moved. Happens to even the best ;) On your forth and fifth jump, double back flip, sweet! And then you almost did a triple but landed on the tail, sooo close. 83 Feet is staggering! Nice job!

I had built a small ramp and tried jumping for the first time. Holy Smoke, it's not as easy as you make it look. I built a larger ramp that I can adjust, so I'll give that a try tomorrow. It's going to take a very long time to get this down. I've been a plane guy for 6 years, but this is a whole new set of skills. I have so much respect for people who can jump these cars. If you want to see my first time jumping, put in, Traxxas rustler jumping by a newby. It feels like when I first started trying to fly.

Well, give it up for traxxas! I dont care what anyone says.... These things are durable! But, some aluminum upgrades would be a welcome. After all those hard landings, there's gotta be some bent hinge pins! Wow. A++ on all your testing!

This is hilarious, I’m new to rc and just got one of these. I was nervous hitting this jump I made and it was only really flying 6ft or so. Lol! I was amazed nothing broke on the very first jump let alone all of them.

You gave that thing an absolute beating with those crazy big jumps 😵😱💪👊 I noticed that the shock aren't that great. Springs are short and the spring perches are too small to hold the spring in place on big jumps. So far that's my only complaint 👍

I converted my Stampede brushless 4x4 to a Rustler 4 x 4 and it's awesome. I can't believe your plastic shock caps didn't pop off with those hits! When you replace the bent shock shafts, consider upgrading to the hardened steel titanium ones and aluminum shock caps.

Just bought a Rustler 4x4 VXL a couple days ago. Ran two batteries through it at this point, so we're pretty new to each other. It was sitting next to me on the floor but about halfway through this video I noticed mine had slunk off to a corner of the room...

Great video, did not know that Rustler had that ability! I have an e-Revo 2.0 (same as yours that appears in the other videos) and I think he can not take half of it ... if it continues like this I will want to change!

That is impressive, it's pretty bulletproof right out of the box. I could have known as the owner of a Stampede 4×4 VXL TSM. But this one has better driveshafts that i like to try on my Stampede. They are pretty similar. I might get one too but i also want a Trx4, decisions, decisions. They are more expensive here in the Netherlands.

That first jump sounded loud. You have to adjust the shocks or upgrade them. Nice Vid 👍👍👍👍

Nice vid. I’ve had my rustler for two months now and as much as i want to start doing some jumps and flips im too coward to do so, afraid i might brake something from not knowing how to do it. I just love it too much to take any chances on destroying it lol

Such an edifying and noble endeavor. How does a 51ft horizontal and 15ft high(approx) flight with a 1/10 scale RC equate to a 1/1 scale human piloted automobile doing the same? Do we currently have the safety technology to ensure the driver's survival? Do we have the mechanical technology and metallurgies for a 3000+lb stunt buggy to survive and function after just one of those landings from100+ft high? Inquiring minds want to know.

I have two Traxxas Slash, one 2WD, one 4WD and have bought lots of spare parts, I think they are incredible. My question is does the Rustler, Stampede and Slash all share parts?

Dude! that was Epic... i can't believe you didn't blow off a shock cap or broke anything.. that was wild, every time it hit the ground sounded so harsh but it kept going. So was you using the 17Tooth pinion and 54 spur? I got one but had a titan motor im going brushless and trying figure out what set up i want. Thanks

Does this car require a Lipo to even start operating? Or can you start with a Nimh? I thought I read somewhere that you can start with a 3000 mah 7 cell Nimh for 30 MPH. Is that true??

I’ve been reading a lot of reviews that this RC is pretty easy to break, but I’ve noticed in a few of your videos that it seems pretty tough for the thrashing it receives. Has it been pretty reliable?

Breaking is very easy. I bought a brand new Traxxas car. Babies it as much as possible. Did a run on cement hit the brakes flipped forward and BOOM rear end gears BLOWN. First week of running and it ended fast because the gears broke. The 1/16 4 x4 vehicles should come with shims in the boxes or pre shimmed drive gears. After inspecting I found that's all it was. But I gotta say that shouldn't happen to a vehicle that has not left the ground not even once. Lololol.
