A thought about how each of the animals depicted; the hare, peacock, deer, crow and boar are all animals which have been used to represent Greek Gods and Goddesses... Hare- Aphrodite Peacock- Hera Deer- Artemis, Crow- Apollo, Boar- Ares. The idea of a pagan cult being wiped out by the seven plagues from the old testament could be a theme here... This is a family tree too with Aphrodite, Apollo, Artemis and Ares being the children of Zeus who married Hera.
So happy to see more people getting into these games, I've been in love with the Rusty Lake games for years (I still remember discovering Samsara Room in one of those old flash games websites with a shit ton of "point and click" games :'D)

The part where you give the masks to your family members more seems like you completing the ritual with the previously missing cube, thus starting a cycle of agony for your other family members. They get killed and eat each other in rusty lake hotel after all

I hope to finish Part 2 soon! I actually only started a few weeks ago, because I wasn’t expecting this to get so many views, but I’m still hoping to get it done soon :)
There is a lot of "I don't know" in this video... Which is understandable, as these games are esoteric and abstract. I guess I was hoping to hear more developed theories from a video that used "explained" in the title, but this is more of a plot summary/recap. I appreciate that more eyes are being drawn to the games though, and I'll be subscribing to see your future vids!
I think that when it comes to theories, you can never claim to know anything for sure. By “explained” I meant that I explained the general plot for people who don’t understand, but like you said, for the more abstract parts, there can’t really be one correct explanation.
You say the word "anyway" SO many times! At one point it was starting to get distracting and I'd think to myself: will he say "anyway" again? And yes, you did! XD Just some feedback; you don't need to say anyway to bring up the next point. At least, not that many times. Fun video nonetheless! :)
Haha, I was hoping no one would notice! But yes, I did feel like I used “anyway” too many times, that’s why in Part 2 I used slightly different variations like “whatever the case may be” or “nonetheless” because I feel like there still needs to be a something to show when one paragraph ends and the next one begins.
So my family is directly descended from the early American colonizers. Both the pligrims and the Dutch. A lot of the lore of this games directly ties to folk lore from early colonial America. I don't know if this was intentional, but I found that interesting.
In rusty lake hotel mr owl killed all other creatures and they're souls got captured, but how somebody got his mask? Idk maybe Jakob survived and wanted to take revenge, jakob became immortal but rest of the family acted like they're immortal they got angry and captured the lake and thats how Laura vanderboom killed in the lake
