I'd like to see a speed test comparison of using the Husky Antenna with your old router and the new 1900

It will be a few weeks before I can run the test at that same location. I’ll so in the near future.

I love this option. I have T Mobile and think this could be a good marriage. I wonder if I could use this at my home and just take it on the road?
@iLoveRVlife

No problem. It’s very portable with AC 120V power.

Great video on a great channel. Thank you. Any suggestions on 4g data plan? Mostly use for zoom meetings and streaming.
@iLoveRVlife
@iLoveRVlife Год назад
Thanks. It depends on how much data you need each month. Video and Zoom specifically burn through a substantial amount of data per call. It also varies if set up 720 or 1080. This link gives the specs on a call. support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362023-Zoom-system-requirements-Windows-macOS-Linux. All the majors have 50Gb to 100Gb hotspot plans that are reasonable. Prepay seem to be the better route. I’ve been using prepaid plans since we started travel in 2014. Here’s a 50Gb $50 t-mobile plan prepaid.t-mobile.com/prepaid-internet. Verizon has 100Gb $80, 150Gb $100 plan. Have to jump through a hoops with the IMEI for the device. Another option is with these folks wirelesssolutionsllc.com/?ref=175%20. They specialize in hotspot plans. Hope this helps.

@@iLoveRVlife What did you have to do for verizon and the imei for the device? Thank you.

That was the beauty of the install. Not one thing. Just plugged it in and it worked.

So Jerry I take it you need a hot spot a Cradlepoint router and a service plan from RV mobile connect service plan is that correct?
@iLoveRVlife
@iLoveRVlife Год назад
I do. The CradlePoint was an upgrade from the older MoFi I was using. It came with a 3 year service plan. So far haven’t needed any additional support. System just runs.

Did you say you can get this system installed by a professional all we need is the Wi-Fi app because we like to do gaming on the iBook and a few other things in our TV in the camper has a Wi-Fi connection so I’m not the most intelligent brick on the block but did you say you could get this installed?
@iLoveRVlife

Seems like the antenna had a dramatic affect on reception. Any thoughts on keeping your old internal system and just having replace the antenna? I don’t do much traveling and purchased a mofi and was thinking about using the external antenna.
@iLoveRVlife
@iLoveRVlife Год назад
The antenna was part of the solution and helps. The primary gain is upgrading from the out dated CAT 7 radio in the older router to the new CAT 20 in the Cradlepoint router along with a much improved firmware implementation.

Jerry: Yike$! The price points on these systems are budget busters. I guess if you’re livelihood depends on reliable connectivity, the investment is worth it(?) Another reason to stay retired😊
@iLoveRVlife
@iLoveRVlife Год назад
Understand. I worked for a while with the budget systems. Half the time we had good to moderate service. Challenge to work in the more remote areas. Also retired our satellite services and helps offset costs.

Something very similar to this called Nomad scammed me out of 500 dollars last month. They were stealing data from the major carriers with bogus sim cards then the sims would get shut off by the carriers. The Texas Attorney General is now involved and bank accounts shut down. If I get any money back it will probably be a long time for it to filter out through the courts. I hope you understand my scepticism.
@iLoveRVlife
@iLoveRVlife Год назад
Hi Ryder. Understand the skepticism. Just like anything you see on the Internet we have to do a some due diligence. If you’re interested in the product here’s the contact link for Active Control. active-controlsllc.com/products. They’re good folks with an excellent product. Hope you get your Nomad Internet resolved.
