Have been using the EEZ Tire TPMS for more than 6 months. Far and Away the BEST system on the market. Used another product that had such POOR customer service, it ended up being a TOTAL Waste of money. (NOW IN THE TRASH) I strongly recommend this system.

One of the best features of the system is the Changeable Batteries. Too many systems you have to replace the entire sensor, (about $45) each when the battery runs out. Verses, going to Walmart and spending a couple of dollars on a new battery.

@sullydude24 All the more reason to use a TPMS System. Many in my owner's facebook group have gone to stainless steel tire valves from Borg with excellent results. I suppose anything capable of cutting stainless steel would slice right through a rubber extension as well. Thanks for the heads up.

We have used our TST TPMS for a little over a year and over 10,000 miles. We love it for many of the reasons listed in the video. We also added sensors to our truck and trailer spares for convenience and extra peace of mind because the valve stems can't be reached when the tires are in their storage brackets.

Currently using a different TPMS system, but will switch to this if/when the one we have gives us any trouble! We've had a few false/positives with ours on occasion, where it seems to have lost communication, giving us an audible squeal, so a 'shut-down' restart seems to have fixed the issue and it's back working fine. This EEZ Tire system sounds like the one I'll upgrade to in the future for sure...thanks so much for the great video!

Another option I like about EzzTire is the ability to turn on and off the toad. There’s times when we use the Motorcoach without pulling the toad so the ability to turn off the config for the toad keeps the monitor from going off warning you it can’t communicate with the toad. You basically push 2 buttons at once to turn off the toad and two buttons to reenable the toad monitoring. We’ve had our EzzTire for about three years now and they’ve worked flawlessly!! Only thing I’ve had to do it replace the tire sensor’s batteries.

To those who have Eeztire TPMS on your coach and Toad, a word of warning, don't take your Toad thru a car wash with wheel scrubbers. I came out of the wash and 1 mile down the road I had a flat tire. The scrubber had hit one of the sensors enough to snap the top of the valve stem. In future I will remove the sensor before going to the wash!

Wow! Sorry to hear that, Jim! We’d suggest this is good advice for ALL tire pressure monitoring systems! Better safe than sorry!

Agreed, it was an expensive lesson, as the car had it's own built in TPMS sensor which is an integral part of the valve stem!

I have one of these TPMS monitors because before I had it I had a slow leak front tire on my sprinter that I had observed before my days journey start. I had to drive 60 miles in the desert without knowing if my pressure was holding or not to get to a tire store all the time wondering what the pressure status was. It was hwy 95 in Arizona with no shoulder to pull off on.

Hi Denise! You might want to check with GMC to see if there are sensors that are compatible with their system that can be tied directly in. If not, you would need a separate receiver just for the sensors on your trailer, but it would absolutely work.

Great video, as always! Thanks for giving us the 411 in such an easy to understand, concise way. Did you guys do anti-theft as opposed to flow-though? How do these differ?
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 5 лет назад
Thanks Amy! We did anti-theft for a couple of reasons. They're SUPER small and compact, especially without the "anti-theft" outer housing in place (the way we use them), and we figured if we're going to have to remove a valve stem cap to check pressures manually, we might as well just remove the sensor. No more effort, and then we get the benefit of those nice little sensors. Not only do the flow-through type stick up higher/taller, but a reliable TMPS system allows us to manually check our pressures far less often anyway.

I just replaced my TST-507 TPMS system (monochrome) with a newer EEZ Tire E-618 (color) TPMS system. I have used repeaters with both systems. Having a TPMS is just smart. I remember driving my Truck pulling a 5th wheel years before we switched to a Class A Motorhome. A Lady pulled up alongside me…rolled her window down, and asked if I knew my tire on the 5th wheel was “busted”? And Busted is putting it nicely. It was shredded and had done some damage to the rig. Perhaps I could have prevented some of that damage with a TPMS. So, why did I go with the EEZ Tire vs another TST system? Well…the monochrome LCD display we had was almost impossible to read. Also, if an alert came up…I had a hard time driving and trying to decipher what the cause was. Another issue we had was coming out and finding a tire at Zero PSI -- But the tire was fully inflated. The TST sensors we had were made with plastic quill depressors….that little thing that pushes the tire valve core quill down to allow air to get to the sensor for reading. The mfg. was no help…I 3D printed some plastic quills to repair my sensors which could splay and become ineffective. Now, EEZ Tire comes along with a beautiful color display. The LCD properly responds to ambient light…and is easily to read. Also if a problem arises the unit displays in plain English what the problem is…no trying to decipher tiny icons. And best of all…the quill depressors are brass… No more plastic. Between you and me…I would 1000x over prefer to replace a valve core vs a $50 or more TPMS sensor. Just me, what can I say. So, maybe an overlooked benefit…for me anyway…is the ease at doing a pre-flight check of the coach and toad tire pressures. Instead of going wheel to wheel in the weather and sometimes darkness…I just turn the monitor on, and by the time I’ve brewed a dbl espresso…the display reports each tire to me one by one. If there is a need to add air, I know where to go right away. I also like the EEZ Tire repeater. It comes with an ON/OFF switch in the wiring harness. I had to solder my own switch in-line on the TST version. Thanks EEZ Tire for saving me the time. Instead of using a suction cup…we added a RAM Track to the A-pillar on our Motorhome. I designed an adapter for the Color EEZ tire display for 3D printing, if anyone is interested. www.thingiverse.com/thing:6419852

Great Video guys. I have the EEZ Tire system on our 45' RV. I have had a couple of reoccurring issues and wondering if you have experienced them at all. First, it sometimes takes quite a while to get a pressure reading on all tires at the start of a trip. Second my inside duals drop out occasionally and sometimes take a while to report a pressure reading? Have you had any similiar issues? As well, made my buying decision of the EEZ tire because my research said that this TPMS was one of the few that didn't repeat the previous monitored pressure if it lost contact with a sensor. Thought that that was a little strange and preferred knowing that my system had lost contact with a sensor.
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 5 лет назад
Hi Murray. Thanks! Glad you liked the video. On your issues: (1) We haven't noticed it taking an exceptionally long time to start reading all of our tires (at least no longer than our old TPMS system)... but part of that may be because on days when we're moving, we typically turn the system on first thing, right after we wake up. Then, at some point during the process of breaking the site down (pulling in slides, disconnecting, etc), we'll check it to see the tire pressures and determine if we need to add any air. So by the time we look, it's reading all tires. And we think we remember reading somewhere in the owner's manual that they recommend turning it on at least 10 minutes prior to needing a reading, to ensure the system has a chance to poll all of the sensors. (2) We haven't had any issues with any tires dropping out, but we do have the booster installed in the closet in the bedroom, so that's likely the reason. NOT having any dropouts is one of the things we've liked the most about the EEZTire system! Do you have the booster installed? And if so, is it possible it's located in a place that's getting interference (or could there be interference between the booster and the monitor)? You could test if that's the issue by moving the monitor back further in the coach (not conducive to monitoring while driving, but this is just for a test) to see if it receives the dual tire signal better. OR try moving the booster somewhere else to see if that clears up any interference. And your purchasing decision for the EEZ was one of the factors that pushed us toward it, too. We saw Cherie & Chris's testing of a couple of the units that did that and we were definitely turned off. So glad the EEZ does do that!

Oh boy, the tire and valve stem close ups brings back memories. I used to be a diesel technician at TravelCenters of America and I changed them big tires with tire bars, tire soap, golden tool, slam bar, cheetah tank, etc. Fun fact: steel rims take a brass valve stem and the nut takes a 9/16" wrench and aluminum rims take a aluminum valve stem and take a 5/8" wrench. Do you have a video on Tire Pressure how hot and cold weather effect your RV tires?
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 4 года назад
Hi Michelle! We don't have a video SPECIFICALLY about it, but you'll understand most of the same concepts if you watch this video about cold tire pressures: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4EahH3a3yCE.html But, in addition to that video... if you set your tire pressures correctly at, say, 70°F... and then drive to a spot where the temperatures are 30°F... your tire pressures will read lower than what you set them to. If, by reverse, you drove to where it was over 100°F... your tire pressures would read higher than what you set them to. If you're only driving THROUGH those changes in temperature, you don't need to worry about it. But if you're in Phoenix in the winter and it's 70°F... and you drive up to Flagstaff to spend a month... you're going to need to add air to your tires. Hope this helps!

Make sure you have metal valve stems that let you access properly. Manufacturers put them on duallies so you have to jack up your rig and remove tires just to put air in because the sensors are a major pain. Do you have a Semitruck jack handy? I didn't think so. #rvtechlife

@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 4 года назад
Hi Richard! We have a 43' motorhome with a tag axle, which brings our RV up to 8 tires instead of the more common 6. Adding our car brings the total to 12. Adding air is easy, as the valve extensions on the inner dual tires make them accessible from the front. That makes it easy to remove and install the TPMS sensors as well.

Hi Dan! We use the Anti-theft sensors, which we prefer, and they've very easy to remove. What's nice is that we so rarely have to remove them, because there's no need to check pressures with a hand-held gauge with the TPMS reporting. Each morning on travel days, we simply turn on the display as part of our pre-trip inspection, and then carry on wth other prep for departure. After all the tires connect and start reporting (usually within about 5 minutes or so), we just cycle through all 12 of our tires to confirm they're all good, and don't even have to go outside to know all is well with tire pressures. It's fantastic! And great peace of mind.

The sensors do indeed have replaceable batteries. While we haven’t had our system long enough to need to replace them, we understand they last an average of about two years. We don’t remove the sensors when our RV is parked, as that has no effect on battery life, so there’s no need to bother.

Have owned this system for 2 years now. Unfortunately I am not as lucky as others....we also bought the extender, and have it located on the front of the RV with Velcro, where I can see the red light in my rear view mirror. On a 32' trailer, we constantly lose readings, where it reads 4 tires then 2 then perhaps 3, then none. Basically it is unreliable, which for me is a big issue in that we bought based based on recommendations. I have replaced with 4 new batteries, 3 times in 2 years, same problem. That was the recommendation of the tech person I called. I will try 1 last time at a re-program, and maybe move the extender lower on the front of the RV - but really these gymnastics should not be a prerequisite for dependability.....

Sorry to hear you're having this problem, William. Unfortunately, ANYTHING wireless can suffer from interference issues... and it all depends on the frequency it's operating on. We've been in RV parks where someone in the park had a pickup truck that was generating LOADS of electromagnetic interference. Every time they drove past our RV, our computers & other devices would lose their connection to the WiFi. So they're truck must've had some kind of electrical issue that was causing noise/static/interference on or around the same frequency! So maybe something similar is happening here... where some electrical component in your truck is causing interference? Wish we had something more concrete to share with you to solve the problem. But hope you get it resolved!

It comes with bare wire ends to connect to any 12 V power source in the RV. We tapped into the power to a light in our rear closet.

Did you set the high and low temp settings before you screw the caps on or after .Thank you
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 2 года назад
We set the high and low pressure settings before we put the caps on, but that isn’t required. Doing it that way does make it less likely you’ll get a false alarm if the pressures aren’t set right when you first put them on. As far as the temperature setting, there’s only a high pressure temperature warning, not a low temperature warning.

How do you deal with the inner tires on the rear axle? Does the outer tire have to come off when adding air or installing the monitor sensor?
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 5 лет назад
Hi Scott. On our RV (and virtually all that we've seen), the inner dual tires on the drive axle come with valve extenders that bring the tire valve through the outer tire's wheel to where it can be easily reached. So you can check tire pressures (or install a TPMS sensor) without having to go through contortions or removing the outer tire. Even if your RV didn't have the valve extenders installed from the factory, you can install them after the fact... again, without removing the outer tire. You just have to crawl around a bit to get access to the inner valve stem. Hope this helps!

If you need to add air to the tire, do you remove the sensor from the tire?
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 5 лет назад
With the sensors we showed in the video, which are the “anti-theft sensors,“ you do indeed remove them to add air. If you opt for the flow-through sensors, they do not need to be removed to add air.

any thoughts on flow through vs. non? thanks for the review and video!
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 5 лет назад
We went with the antitheft rather than the flow through sensors because we were especially interested in the very small, low-profile design, especially without the outer antitheft cover in place around them, which is how we use them. The flow through sensors are taller, so we wanted to avoid that extra height sticking up off the valve stem. Because we would have to unscrew the cap on the flow-through sensors to add air or take manual tire pressure readings anyway, we figured that we could just as easily unscrew the antitheft sensors themselves whenever we want to take manual readings, or add or remove air.

Don't you have 13 tires? Does it monitor the spare on the toad?
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 5 лет назад
Hi Eugene. We could certainly have gotten a 13th sensor and put it on the spare tire on our CR-V... but since we have three separate means of inflating tires (our Viair compressor, another "cheap-o" compressor we keep in the car, and the onboard air on the RV), we didn't think it was necessary to be constantly monitoring the pressure in the spare.

Is your booster just plugged in to an electrical outlet?
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 5 лет назад
Hi Bill! Since the booster should be mounted in the back of the RV, you do need to find power. It uses 12-volt, and since RVs are loaded with that, it makes it pretty easy (we tapped into the power for our closet light on the ceiling, and mounted it on the back wall).

I have the TST system on my RV. It works fine now, but here's what I've learned during installation and initial operation. First, the manufacturer will tell you that you can put the pressure monitor on a plastic valve stem. Don't do it. One of mine broke while driving through the Tahoe Forest, and I lost the monitor. Second, they can be very difficult to install on the dualies. I had to remove the security caps on the rear monitors in order to get them to fit.

@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 5 лет назад
Hi Lawrence! I (Peter) drove professionally for over a decade as well (tour buses, straight trucks and some tractor-trailer), and I'm a big believer in being self-sufficient, too. I never had the benefit of TPMS, a back-up camera, power mirrors, GPS, or much of anything else. But I do like the benefits that modern technology brings, and am eager to embrace it when possible. What I wouldn't have given to have power mirrors when getting that right side mirror set.... can't count how many times I had to jump in and out of the driver's seat to get it right! 😂 When it comes to TPMS, the biggest safety improvement I value the most is when it comes to a slow leak that develops while underway (picking up something in the tire after PTI is complete), or loss of pressure in a rear tire, which can of course go undetected until the tire comes apart. As a professional like you, I think that there are lots of people out there who depend far too much on things other than good training. But there is definitely improvement available from good tech. How I ever navigated to directly to specific locations in far-away cities with a bus-load of passengers on board without GPS without wandering around I'll never know! Can't remember back that far!

I just went to the link and read the reviews. There was a significant number of negative (one star) reviews. After reading them, I have decided not to deal with this company. It appears from the reviews that the customer service it not acceptable. I spend more time reading the negative reviews because many of the positive reviews may be fake. Does RVgeeks get renumeration from this company?
@RVgeeks
@RVgeeks 4 года назад
A couple of things.... There is no such thing as a product without negative reviews. Even some of the finest gear we've ever owned gets one-star reviews, including some that say negative things about customer service from companies we get fantastic service from. 80% of EEZ ratings are 4- or 5-star, and only 14% are 1- or 2- star. You simply can't please all the people all the time. Because it's human nature to complain when unhappy vs praise when satisfied, this is a great average. Now here's how you can tell that Amazon reviews are not fake.... even the positive ones. Amazon shows which reviews came from people who actually bought the product. Look for "Verified Purchase" in bold orange letters at the top of the review. That guarantees that the person reviewing the product actually paid for it. The vast majority of reviews of all star ratings are verified. Lastly, here's how you know that OUR review isn't fake, or bought. We've built our reputation for years on providing reliable information about products we actually use, love, and recommend without reservation. EEZ pays us nothing, and our opinions are genuine, and our own.

@@RVgeeks Thanks for your response, I'm aware of all of your comments, but also believe some companies hire people to purchase the product and make great reviews. I also know that you can not satisfy all people. One of the reviews did influence me the most was where a person had the device in his TOAD and was several miles away from the RV and it was still registering tire pressure for the RV. I apologize for any inference with my question of renumeration from the company. I didn't intend to imply anything negative regarding your reviews. I have watched many of your reviews and have they have helped my significantly. I also look at the ratio of 1 and 2 stars to 3 , 4 and 5 stars. I would read that as having an 86% chance of getting a quality product. Lastly customer service means a lot to me, sometimes before I purchase an expense product I call the company and ask about parts and manuals. If I get poor service I skip the product. Thanks again for your reviews!
