I never understood how Nora and Ruby could casually carry their weapons behind their back. They mentioned in the first volume that even though weapons could decrease in size, it still weighs the same. And Nora and Ruby’s weapons look mad heavy...
Honestly, that makes the idea that Ruby needed to work on hand-to-hand combat in Volume 5 a bit... confusing. From what I can tell, Nora and Ruby can carry their weapons because they're just that strong. But by that same logic, a single punch from Ruby or Nora should be pretty close to a punch from a bodybuilder in our reality, whether they're trained in hand-to-hand or not.
This was a really tough season animation wise, the quality in animation, particularly the fight scenes from the previous three seasons is shocking. Luckily they have found their stride now. RIP Monty 🙏🏼
For me, seeing that Tyrian actually shows traits from a scorpion (bad sight, relying on hearing) as shown by when he can’t fight back against Qrow because Qrow was weaponless is the thing that impresses me the most. Like they really stay true to the animals.
@@smilealldayeverydayuwu that's not true. They made him use his gunchucks like twice in V5. If anything they're just saving him for the Vacuo arc. RWBY kind of has a problem with some characters not getting enough development because of the excessive character bloating.
I know this comment is two years late but ... MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I just want to know what his weapon and semblance are, and why they require such powerful HTH skills. PLEASE, I WANT TO SEE THE FIGHT REEL!
I have the question why Tyrian stops fighting while Grow doesn't have his Scythe in hands, like he has some kind of mental and physical trigger that calls him to fight madly when someone is armed
It’s been theorized plenty of times that because Tyrian is a scorpion Faunus he’s either blind or super nearsighted. This could also explain why he got so close to Jaune when he landed on his shield-he was trying to look at him.
They nerfed Ruby so hard. I know it's supposed to be a power scaling thing, but everyone in Vol. 1 had ZERO problems with Nevermore who was 2-3 times the size of the Grim in vol.4. While Vol.4 Grim were indeed unique, everyone except the Rider grim seemed like they were much easier to beat.
@@deathserpent9747 I don't think you mean to use the word solid because it sure as shit wasn't hollow. It may have been run down but it still takes a good bit of strength to break something like that.
I really like the moment at 8:31, it just feels so... warm since Blake is in such a shitty time of her life here and even though she's on this journey, I don't think she exactly feels free, and there's just a sense of freedom and even fun and happiness you see on her face in this moment, it makes me happy
Talha Khandaker(Bangladesh):well i can do it. And i saved ruby from tyrian's stinger with my Spider power's and I've battled him it was magnificent! And cut his tail whole with my two symbiote's venom and carnage!
RWBY obviously changed its combat style after Monty's passing. But honestly after watching RWBY twice (The first time was when every episode was airing, and the second after the long Volume 8 break) and now watching these Fight Scene compilations. I think they did a fine job paying homage to Monty's style, without trying to imitate it. However, I think they should try to imitate, Monty's style outside of RWBY more for the upcoming Volume 9. I think trying to imitate Haloid's Monty Style or Dead Fantasy's Monty Style would be a good way to keep it fresh with Monty RWBY-Style. And don't say it's impossible, because Uiyahan remade the entire first episode of Dead Fantasy in HD, with high-fidelity graphics. That's on RU-vid right now, so it's not impossible to emulate Monty's amazing animation style, if Rooster Teeth put's in the effort. It can work.
My main issue with the newer fights is the brain cells they appear to have lost. 2 examples in the first fight, one being that Ren states that he blades don't hurt the rock grim, no shit. And also, ruby lighting it's tree arm on fire.
There is a theory going around that Tyrian, like a scorpion, is either nearsighted or blind and uses his hearing and touch to fight. His fight with Qrow has so much evidence to back this up.
Crazy that the Grimms are a menace considering how easy they die and how super resistants thoses humans are... 16:52 Is his tail extensible? I mean, there's plenty of instance where it looked longer than in others scenes. And it can take the hit of Nora hammer when she is powered by electricity and deflect bullets but not a blade?
There are very few actually good fights in this season imo. The geist fight is way too floaty, characters dont care about gravity anymore and constantly contradict things established in the fight, like how ruby slashes a rock in half but Ren can't even get a cut in. Sea Feilong had the same gravity problems + the fact that the animators have 0 idea as to how to animate Blake. The Nuckelavee fight is ok though, being in itself a really great development bit for Ren. The Nuckelavee is really cool to watch though, even if it mostly just stands there and flails its arms around. Plus, Ruby literally does like nothing in that fight. The only really good one to me is Tyrian. Tyrian is an absolute blast to watch fight, and the team does a lot of cool acrobatic moves and has a lot of cool synergy. It feels a bit messy but I think thats because Tyrian just sort of attacks whoever he wants? Things only get better when Qrow shows up, I genuinely believe Qrow vs Tyrian is one of the better fights in the whole series. The choreography and use of environment is great, Tyrian and Qrow are both so much fun to watch as usual, and it was a really good way to implement Qrow's semblance. While the volume was mostly disappointing fight wise, I'm really glad there was at least one really awesome battle.
A dum/funny edit, a smol one, would've been when Ruby yells,"What is this about?!" it cuts to Tyrian sayin',"Only in her wildest dreams" in my opinion at least. Keep up the great work though, I love these edits
1:00 This always bugged me, couldn't Ren have literally ended the fight by shooting it in the face here? Instead he chose to jump into the Stratosphere.
5:24 I RECOGNISE THAT CAPTAIN! HE WAS IN TITANIC!! 9:50 good feelings gone.. 10:46 I see someone is a fan of the joker. Even has his creepy laugh and calm tone down
Because it is simply the truth. While these battles look fine at a glance, they are inconsistent with what came before and even among themselves. It is a noticeable decrease in quality.
Time Stamps: 0:00 Team RJNR Vs Grimm Geist 5:02 Blake & Sun Vs Grimm Sea Feilong 9:48 Team RJNR Vs Tyrian 13:20 Qrow Vs Tyrian 17:11 Yang Vs Taiyang 18:47 Blake & Sun Vs Illia 20:43 Team RJNR Vs Grimm Imp
Im sorry but volume 4 disappointed me because it looks like they didn’t practice the new software upgrade switch and the poses are weird yo say the least but its not teerible
Its not the new design, its that the fighting choreography went downhill after monty oum died. If you compare this to sun and blake vs torchwick you can see the difference.
I have a story I'm working on here a short part "why must we fight kids all I want is your friend, now hand him over" the group looked a each other and back at the man "why?!" "His eye and scar, and what he can do" "neve..." "if you promise not to hurt then" the kid named Rye said while cutting his friends off "I don't Promise" the man said and smiled the air was still and everyone but the stranger was on end but Rye drew his swords and his group calmed "then no deal" Rye said as he closed his eyes and his scar lit up, the stranger smiled "i was hoping for that ha huh" he actived his power the power to mentally break his enemies but it did not work "HOW?!" The man yelled one of the girls smiled at the stranger "do your research" Rye opened his eyes to reveal that his eye had lit up and changed, before the stranger was shrouded by the eye symbol and shadows. Leave a pointers and tell me if you like it and want more.
@@ImStrange_ I doubt it with what they have shown. I have a hard time believing Tai got of his teammates pregnant and then specially only trained one daughter in hand to hand fighting while letting Qrow who ruby looks a lot more like train her. And train her in the same weapon he uses.
@@rasheedqe Qrow Trained Ruby. Tai trained Yang. Yang has her Father's Hair but her Mother's anger. Ya can see a Flash back of Ruby's Mom. Don't be dense or make up some dumb ass theory it's plain as seein' the Fucked up Moon. Tai made love to his female teammates.
@@WindyREDPanda 1) take it down by like 90 percent and stop being asshole. It's a cartoon there is no reason to get that worked up about it. 2) Ruby has no features of her Tai's not his hair, eyes or even skin color. She does however have Qrow skin and hair color. 3) Qrow training her points even more to tai not being her father. Why would he only train one daughter? Doesn't make sense. 4) Tai never said he slept with his teammates the show implied it.
Unpopular opinion and I don't care to be the only hater but I do not enjoy watching any of these fights. Yang vs her dad wasn't bad tho and the animation isn't horrible it's just everything they do is dumb and makes no sense, there are isolated moments where something looks cool like a pose or qrow standing on his sword but as a whole it's underwhelming and illogical. Ofc they don't have Monty but no one plays with physics like he does, it's so cartoony like Looney tunes type cartoon. There's no realism in any of the animation it's not cool, sorry😒 like I feel like when I watch the fights I'm like ofc you got smacked down bc you're not doing anything but swinging a weapon like you don't know how to use it. Glad people can enjoy it though bc I know they spent hours on it but personally I'm not impressed 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ respectfully
I do enjoy it but I do get the same vibe in compared with volume 3 there is a lack of energy and confidence the only real good fight in my opinion is crow vs tyrian and yang vs Tai but the rest misses the energy that volume 3 had
