Okay so I wanna give some credit where credit is due. Chris Kokkinos, M.P.S.E Alena Lecorchick Andrew Scott Philip Spann These guys are members of the CRWBY sound design team. They worked on stuff that REALLY sold this episode for me. The sizzling of Ironwoods flesh, the soft leather creaking when he sets the bag in his desk, the distortion with the audio when Ruby has the Summer flashbacks. They worked on all these and it really added to the episode

That Noise when we saw Summer's flashback was creepy

I love how emotionless Ironwood looks at the end. He's just done with everything

The guy singing is Caleb Hyles, he’s done a lot of good covers. His first RWBY cover was shared by Casey and on another cover Jeff said he wanted to collab. He also done a cover with Casey

The second you said “she’s his right hand” I immediately replied with “Well he lost his left hand so he might as well lose his right” lol

What I love about this Volume and about the story it’s telling is that Ironwood and Team RWBY are both opposite sides of the coins and share many parallels. Due to past experiences, they both keep secrets from certain people due to not being psychic and being unable to read minds and see if the people are telling the full truth or hiding something. They’ve both made misjudgments and have made mistakes. They also do things very differently. Ironwood wants to do things the legal and “logical,” way even if it isn’t morally sound. Taking the city to space and taking supplies from Mantle for Amity might be legal and logical, but it has caused much suffering or will cause more suffering. Team RWBY are willing to do things morally sound, even if they have to break some rules. Going against Ironwood’s orders might have been against the law and lost his trust, but it convinced Robin to lay off the attacks and help Ironwood in a time of need. Ironwood is affected by tunnel vision and PTSD. This means that when he is backed into a corner, he will do anything to avoid another Beacon scenario, even if his actions will lead to it happening again. Salem does still have spies and flying Grimm. Team RWBY are affected by the deaths of others and past trauma and are undoubtedly naive. This leads to them always wanting to save everyone, even if it doesn’t seem possible. What I love about this is that no one is fully in the right. Everyone is biased, everyone is flawed, everyone is affected by past experiences. There is no perfect solution. It’s only a matter of picking your own poison. And that’s why this volume is my favorite so far.

Can we all just take a moment to realise that the intro for this volume is basically RWBY pleading to Ironwood to put his faith in love and keep his humanity?

Arnold: I won’t do an intro today Also Arnold: *does an intro* Me: I’ll allow it.

"How does he know?!" (Referring to Ironwood's prosthetic) I mean, everyone probably does. He fought shirtless at the fall of Beacon and I doubt its that much of a secret. As for the flying Beringels you mentioned, nobody knows about them. We haven't encountered them, so I think it might be a thing later in the season.

See Ruby. See Weiss. See Blake. See Yang. This is why. This is why Ozpin kept his secrets. "I'm sorry, but you need to understand that my actions are backed up by *Years of Experience.* " Ironwood was another of those experiences.

Oscar's just getting an outfit change.

Its the 2 horrible options. You stand your ground, you risk everyone dying and this all being for nothing. You raise atlas, you save who you can and live to fight another day. There are no good options. Amd ironwood was honest with all.of them.and they started with a lie about the lamp and then went behind thier back and told robyn about the tower. He's scared and feels betrayed by team RWBY.

Serious question: Is he wearing a clip on tie while watching this?

Salem even puts us against each other. After this episode: People who is Ironwood side, who is Rwby side who doesn’t have a side.

Comparing the Summer Rose flashback in vol 6 to this Summer Rose flashback is just wow! Complete opposite. I'm worried for Ruby.

Easily the best chapter this volume. Period.

When Ironwood said "Are you with me" it sounded like Jaune when he confronted Oscar

What Ironwood did in this chapter was similar to the ending of GOD EATER this was a Solid 10/10 Chapter My hands would not stop shaking 😰

Imagine if Summer actually defeated Salem but just tripped while celebrating and broke her neck

Neither side is morally right, It's the same Moral question as that Train Dilemma, Do you Kill 1 innocent person (mantle) to save 10 others (remnant/relics)? (Kill or setup for death) But I believe ironwood is wrong

the new song is actually sung by a cover artist called Caleb Hyles he's got a really good voice and did a cover with Cassy a few months back

I *LOVED* the Ironwood vs. Watts fight, but when he was falling and the vocals kick in at 8:38, I got goosebumps. That was so well done.

Episode 12 made this seem happy...

Remember in the beginning how they said the lamp had two uses left I think summer rose used the first one

I don't think I've seen you freak out as much as you have when Salem dropped the Summer bomb.

Weird how the Villains seemed like the underdogs in this episode. Especially Tyrian

Can we take a moment to appreciate how well written ironwood is, he's not the bad guy and he's genuinely trying his best to save remnant but every choice he has will end up with people dying and he has no good options

I love Salem here. In the span of like two minutes she made a little girl cry and intimidated a general, all the while looking sweet and motherly. Good going, lady. Good going.

Last episode I said Ironwood took the truth very well. I take it back.

Ironwood didn’t loose it. He’s absolutely correct. His plan is the best. If Salem gets the relics she wins. Sacrifice a few to save the world.

In the previous episode watts said “our tin soldier’s heart has cost him his mind” and now that is clearly proven in this episode

Ironwood’s just like his fairytale counterpart now, he’s a man without a heart

i noticed that it was really qrow fighting while the others were support. i love that teamwork. because qrows weapon was the only one built for close quarters combat

What would happen when if someone told Neo that Torchwick was killed by Grimm would Neo be against Salem and join Ruby to avenge Torchwick

I ended up rewatching the last scene of this chapter again and again. I loved it. The tension rising with the music and the standoff between Ironwood and Ruby before she yeeted past him and alerted the others of his plan to declare martial law. And Ironwood's almost sorrowful "I know" as he walks away. I can only hope to create something like that in the future.

I get that Ruby wants to save the people of Mantel, but what Ironwood is basically saying: “You can’t save everyone”

I love seeing how much CRWBY has grown. You can see just how much they've improved with their choreography from Tyrian vs Qrow in volume 4 to Tyrian vs Qrow now

Remember what Tyrian said before: “If the good general comes to his senses and calls on aid from Vacuo, all may be lost for us.” Team RWBY is doing the right thing.

Strategically, Ironwood would be right. The end goal for Salem is the Staff and having a self sustained moving base of operations would be invaluable, like an Aircraft carrier. If you stand your ground and fight, a spread out and exhausted force will not be able to hold, and even if everyone is evac-ed to Atlas, the logistics might not be sustainable. It also seems that no one really sees the Atlas soldiers as human. Yang said they were huntsmen and huntresses, but the normal rank and file are anything but. Losing the fight here will cost the war, and eventually more lives. Ironwood did nothing wrong, and Ruby's optimism would have killed a lot more people, but i think the writers are going to tie this up nicely and make them look like big damn heroes anyway.

I wanna see this reaction train keep going, 2 MORE EPISODES!!!!! Building up to a million fights!!!! Tears will be shed (90% of them Arnolds). This Volume is the best one.

Hearing the main chord progression from the opening theme, literally titled “Trust Love” right at the moment trust begins to crumble was heart breaking.
