I theorize that Oscar’s comment about talking to the people you’re afraid to was aimed at Ozpin as well as Ironwood.

I understand the idea of telling them at the beginning but hindsight’s 20/20. How could they have known that Ironwood could be trusted? They just came from a school where the headmaster not only aligned himself to Salem but gave some of ozpin’s secrets up to her. Furthermore, Blake has a point in this episode, Ironwood was already tired, overworked, stressed, and frankly going crazy. How could they then tell him that Salem couldn’t be killed and worsen the situation. It’s not their fault to be skeptical, rather it just worked to Salem’s advantage. She keeps winning because non of our characters have learned the difference between unity/trust and dependence/reckless blind faith.

can we talk about Ren and how he was the only one of the kids who responded “Yes Sir” to Ironwood. i smell some much needed character development from him.

When the Robot comforted Penny, it restored my faith in humanity. Except it’s a robot sooo...

I really like how everyone has their little secrets. This isn't as simple as an affair - they have the literal weight of the world on their shoulders, and now that they have taken Ozpin's burden, they understand what it means to be responsible for the fate of the world. Oz is probably waiting until they all realize he was right.

So Ironwood literally interpreted the black queen icon as Salem saying "I did this, James." That really says a lot about his mental state right now.

Here's my Foreshadowing Theory... Ironwood said "Oz once speculated it could take us as high as we wanted." During the grimm attack, and Amity Colosseum gets destroyed, Ironwood uses the limitless power of the Staff of Creation to lift Atlas itself up into the upper atmosphere and Atlas Tower reestablishes worldwide communications. ...and all the wealthy people have to evacuate back down to Mantle. No provisions for air at that altitude for it's entire population. How the mighty will have fallen. They will have to share Mantle's destiny once more.

Ok. Something just occurred to me. If the staff of creation is the only goddamn thing holding Atlas in the air, as Ironwood so helpfully forshadowed, and it's "Just like Becon" as Penny declared, this is gonna end in one major disaster. Which I believe is going to be Atlas crushing onto Mantel.

I wonder how Weiss will deal with her father being on the counsel.

As soon as they mentioned the heating grid having access to Atlas security, and the SDC having access to the heating grid, I knew that was what Watts was asking for in return for helping Jacques win the election

Now since the staff is in play imagine winter dies, by whoever in Salem’s party and they take the staff does that mean that Atlas would fall and crush mantle. That’d be one ending.

I liked the little nod to Ironwood’s PTSD. I wish we had more scenes with him and learned his backstory.

The best parts of the episode. Nora actually having character and not just being a living meme running on cartoon random humor logic. Yang and Blake talking about Adam and showing that it actually had an effect on them as well as taking a risk to try trusting Robyn. Not to mention it shows how far ahead they are of nearly everyone else with their combat strategy and synergy as a team alone. Robyn is an aged graduate huntress and they fought her into submission. Honestly I hope the decision doesnt come back to bite the two and if it does I hope Blake takes the fall cause Yang doesnt need to go through any more. Let blake save her for a change to fully make up for the past. And last but not least. The actual Chad of the Happy Huntresses May shows off how her invisible AT field works from their inner perspective.

I anticipate Oscar being with Ironwood at the Council proceedings, and Ozpin may speak up during those events.

I mean tbh, Yang's been keeping a secret since the end of volume 5.

After some time thinking about Oscar/Ozpin’s relationship, I like to think of it this way: Oscar is kind of like the next avatar. If he is Korra, then Ozpin is Aang. He was simply the next child that fate chose to incarnate, and the torch gets passed on from master to student, and so on. Maybe the reality isn’t that Oscar will disappear, but that Ozpin will as Oscar grows into his power and responsibility. Eventually, Oscar might have to say goodbye to his teacher. Once he finally understands that “Ozma” isn’t the name of the identity forced onto him, but the given name of his gold heart/personality. Oscar is Ozma. Ozpin is only his guide. Symbolic of life and death as the torch gets passed on to the next generation of “simple honest souls”.

So Fiona literally has the wind tunnel as her semblance, that's amazing.

Alright, hang on... I feel like nobody is asking this, so I have a question... If the staff is keeping Atlas... a literal city... afloat in the sky... what happens if it gets taken? *_What happens when Atlas isn't floating anymore?_*

Well Nora's 180 was surreal honestly and Yang & Blake's choice to tell Robyn the truth were the biggest high lights for me and Penny's method of creation

I liked how Oscar is pretty much warning Ironwood to not become like Ozpin. It seems the boy at least acknowledges Oz being in a rather dark place because of everything he has done or gone through, including locking himself away for not being able to deal with life rn.

Man I remember when you got to 10K subs. Really feels like a journey we've all been through 👍

"Jacques are you really sure you want to do this...?" Yes, it's the perfect timing for him. It's exactly what he's after - to poke Ironwood until he loses his temper, then smugly use that as a club to beat him with. It's an old, old-fashioned method of beating political opponents. The fact Ironwood is being pushed, nibbled at, and framed - and Jacques likely knows about the frame job, and thus can guess Beacon was similarly done - is what is going to make it all too simply for our newly elected Council member to get the General to break and do something rash. Something costly. It's also likely Watts didn't have full access to the systems until Jacques made it easier - perhaps a few key routines he could toy with to spoof cameras briefly so he could keep himself from showing up on them. (A man supposed to be dead... Side-bet: Tyrian Callows' rap sheet has his murder on it.)

Does everyone feel like something bad is going to happen between Ren and Nora when Ren say yes sir?

in Ironwood's case ''the path to hell is paved with good intentions'' and it hurts cuz not only he's exausted, he wants to trust everyone and his hands are tied

It just hit me that Ironwood is going to be placed in a situation that he wanted Ozpin to be with the Vale council.

To add from the brief moment in the livestream yesterday about your theories getting debunked I was honestly more hyped for your Maria semblance (talking to the dead) than reflexes and wished it had worked by being able to communicate with the dead through an article of their belonging (clothing/jewelry). Just a bit disappointed we didn't get an easy shot at seeing Pyrrha again tbh :'( But more importantly: you are super close to 100k and keep theory crafting !!!!!

This one was a bit of a downer, mainly because with the exception of the Blake and Yang story we're checking in on how miserable everyone is with the current state of affairs. -Up until now, Ironwood has done a solid job of putting on composure and a strong facade in the face of everything that's happening, but now that mask is starting to slip. He's going from "I accept if people see me as the bad guy" to "I'll be the bad guy if I have to and I expect all of you to fall in line." We now see that the fall of Beacon had a heavier toll on him than initially suggested. Despite his claims of not going to fail like Lionheart, it seems apparent that he's going down a similar path of self-destruction. If fear was Lionheart's downfall, pride could do the same for him. His scene with Oscar implies how much of his ego is bruised and a lot of what he's doing is to fix mainly that. -Despite still taking place mainly in the margins of the story (which I'm not very fond of), the ReNora story takes an interesting turn here. First of all, I'm glad the kiss didn't magically solve everything and putting Ren on the same ideological side as Nora. I love how she's speaking out in favor of the citizens of Mantle so passionately, likely because she sympathizes with them from experience. Meanwhile, Ren seems a bit keen to fall in line with Ironwood. I wish we spent more time going over what's going through his head when he makes these decisions. Still, my understanding is that given his frustration with a lack of a plan to do anything about Salem, he's following Ironwood because he's the one closest to having any kind of plan. It was pointed out to me how this could be related to the advice his father gave him long ago, that the worst action is not taking action at all. He's obviously torn here between Nora and his friends and also his duty and I wish more time was spent with him. -Good to see this chapter do stuff with Blake and Yang that wasn't just fluff. It's a nice touch to give them their own autonomy on the situation and let them make their own calls over what's best to do. I'm still not sure whether they'll be much mileage for Robyn being in on the Salem mission, but we'll see. -So, if Penny is destroyed again, Pietro won't be able to rebuild her because the process would literally kill him. That's not foreboding or anything...

I really like how Robin is a lie detector with her semblance, especially since it is similar to my OC passive semblance of instinctively knowing if someone (and who, but not how) is trying to deceive him.

I hope you reach it, the 100k and more before the new year

I feel like we're getting to see Oscar come into his own, and we're seeing the similarities of the like-minded souls. The mannerisms are from muscle memory and old habits, and I think the experience Oscar's gained these last few volumes has allowed him to become a little more confident. It's cool to see him like this -- he still sounds like Oscar, but he also sounds more mature. It makes sense for his character to react this way, and I'm super intrigued.

I thank you for doing these reactions. I'm the only onr in my family that watches anything like this so I appreciate seeing someone else's reaction to RWBY.

What fiona's semblance reminds me of is is like storage, because the trucks that she is absorbing have supplies in them, so I'm guessing she can absorb objects into herself and can later dispense it back out ._.

I would like to remind you that Ozpin's reincarnation binds him to similiar-minded persons. It's not really Ozpin slowly taking over, as it's more that Oscar thinks similiar to Ozpin from the beginning.

prediction : the staff is going to be taken and they're gonna use the last question to ask how it can be stopped and the answer is by using the lamp as a catalyst rather than the staff (remember the relics only SUPPLY energy, they arent using the staff to create a floating world they're using the energy to sustain it) like how the lamp itself created an entire desert yet that had nothing to do with its primary ability of questioning makes me wonder why not try using the lamp to speed up the process of amity coliseum though (other than it being obviously very risky placement of the relic)

Am I crazy cuz I don't feel that against everything ironwood has been doing ? So when they keep fighting with him it just runs through me

The fact that the music got darker when Ironwood mentions Salems lack of humanity, it makes me wonder if he'll end up loosing his humanity in order to do 'the right thing.' He seems so paranoid its only natural he wonders how much easier decisions would be to make if he just, felt nothing.

Bow the more we see how Ironwood suffers from clear ptsd dictating his judgement and the parallel of Yang using her past and Ozpins secrets to dictate her and Blake sharing their trust makes me want a scene of Ironwood and Yang talking more than ever. It would be s way to make all the stuff in V3 really matter again with how badly it was supposed to affect her afterwards. Considering how amazingly close to beating V3 this Volume is getting I wholeheartedly believe thecwritilers could pull off such a bombastic and much needed callback to make it more believable that this penny stuff wont just blow over and be completely forgotten about in a few more episodes. Best mom Yang and Irondad need a hugout.

Jaune can regenerate Pietro's aura. and he can make another penny when he has the time.

"Ren... I'm sorry, buddy." I got a huge and very bad feeling we're all going to be way more sorry for him. I see Ren doing something stupid in the future, something that will end up with his death...or with Nora's death, as she tries to protect him. Somehow I cannot shake off this bad feeling. :(
