(1*) Can you exert a vigilant creature? Support Judging FtW on Patreon at / judgingftw Suggest a question: forms.gle/YTK2qrQqTL18rRsJ9 A: Yes. Nothing noticeable happens (but it still won't untap if it somehow becomes tapped)
It's me! Thanks man, I really appreciated meeting you at Magicon: you took your time with each person sitting at your table, that was very kind. Also, thanks again for the pack (and the tokens)!
I think they made vigilance hard to get in Amonkhet limited to avoid this coming up too much. There were very few ways to exert a creature with vigilance in that format.
Combat Celebrant is actually worded in such a way that it won't give you infinite combats if you give it vigilance, I suspect specifically because exert works this way. Which is neat!
Is it "exactly like putting a stun counter on it" though? I may be mistaken but if you have a stun counter on an untapped creature, that counter will remain on the creature until the next time it would otherwise untap (si it could potentially stay on for the rest of the game if on a vigilant creature). With exert though, i THINK that the exert would expire at your next untap step regardless, yes? Or am i missing something?
That is correct. Stun counters will stick around if you don't try to untap it, but will be removed early if you try to untap it. Exert will only affect the next untap step and not if you try to untap it before or after there.
Can you please make a video about the rules of the card reconnaissance? Printed OG Exodus, saw a reprint in AC UB. I find the wording to be jank and need clarity. Can cards that already dealt combat damage get untapped ? What about exerted creatures?
