This design originated with the Redline Forklifter bars, first released about 1985. It's a very strong and smart design, because the lower portion is not in the way or hitting your knees. Most of the modern 4-piece bars are too wide on the bottom, but these are nice and trim. There's no need for an inch of tubing on each side of the stem, 1/4 inch wider than the widest stem on the market is all that's needed.
Why the end bits near the stem aren't chopped off and grinded? I mean, why have all those sharp angles which can traumatize you if it can be rounded up a bit. Best of luck, Alex
