Do you have a favorite of the bunch? Sorry if I missed it..
@SolelyRyobi

Hahaha making us answer our own question, love it! Beginners - If you could only have one, the drill for sure. Hopefully you can get the two tool, drill and impact driver kit. Intermediated - Adding to your collection, probably one of the saws. Cut off tool or the recip saw. Logan’s favorite so far is the cut off tool because it can cut so many different materials.
@masterkilla77
@masterkilla77 3 года назад
@@SolelyRyobi thanks so much I lean toward the cut off tool also.
@LoganEversole

Nate C yes, the cut off tool is my favorite so far. They are all good but for the little stuff I do the cut off tool will probably fill the biggest gap in my collection.
@masterkilla77

@@LoganEversole thank you... how about this, would you still find usefulness with cut off tool even owning an angle grinder? I'm thinking the drywall and compact factor make it still a worthy tool in addition...

Love the new Ryobi HP. Overall performance is great. The design is so nice with the jet black and neon lime green. They look and feel like top of the line stuff. Little things like the magnet I agree with you but I can get past that with the right set up. Great vid

In the next version, they need to give the impact driver all the features of the impact wrench. People are using the drivers to do all the things that drills are supposed to be for, so they might as well give them the features to make them really good at doing those things.

That would be awesome! And if the could make it a 'Quiet Strike' too, it would be the only you ever use! 😁

I have the brushed version drill impact P1817 and i love it i have tried other brands but to be honest iv had great luck with ryobi i love how the battery fits tight unlike some higher end brands. the power is pretty good my last cordless set was beat hard and lasted 3 years abused. plus i love the green bright neon color lols!

I bought this set and use those battery's because Im generally doing small jobs and the small battery's handle those with ease..I have magnetic tape for attaching extra bits or screws to the tool.

I have been very happy with my combo kit I bought myself for Christmas 2018. Truth be told I don't know if they are brush or brushless. I'm a DIYer using them for home 🏡 repairs and small woodworking projects. Being on a fixed income, I can get more tools for the money 💰 and not sacrifice much quality.. They get the job done and I'm not worried if a different brand puts in a screw a second sooner. Hoping Santa will bring me a Table saw and or a bandsaw. Does Ryobi make a bigger bandsaw than the 9 inch?? Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and videos Rodney
@SolelyRyobi
@SolelyRyobi 3 года назад
Totally understand that! The affordability, consistency, and convince of the #RyobiTools is hard to beat.
@ZeoCyberG
@ZeoCyberG 3 года назад
Bigger, no... They do have a smaller portable 2.5" 18v for cutting pipes, etc. but that's about it. Just the table saws come in size options for either 8" or 10" sizes...

Great review Logan I have really enjoyed the video a day for seven days. I agree with you about those small batteries I use them for the flashlight or small fan. I would like to see them come out with drill, drywall screw gun, or impact with a 9 ah battery and call it the day driver or something. I have 4 of the 9 ah batteries and it's given me a whole new respect for battery tools. I am appreciating the new grips. Keep up the great work.
@SolelyRyobi
@SolelyRyobi 3 года назад
Yeah the 9 ah batteries are a little heavy, but in most tools you can completely forget about checking the charge level once you put them in. 😁

Thanks Michael! Obviously I have fun doing it but 7 days of 30 minute videos means a lot of filming and even more editing. 🥵 Makes it all worth it if a few people find value in what we do. 😁

I miss the mag tray as well. I always thought the best reason for the one+ battery size was the room for a mag tray.

Went to Home Depot today and checked out the new drill sets. I love the size of these, the only thing I’m considering as well is the ridgid versions. They feel realllly good in the hand and with LSA, hmmmmm.
@thugsmf
@thugsmf 3 года назад
which one did you end up getting? im in the ryobi ecosystem, 20+ tools; but the subcompact ridgid combo with the free tool seems like a better deal. don't know what to do? pls help lols =P
@NarySllim
@NarySllim 3 года назад
@@thugsmf Here’s how I look at it these days. For a diy guy like myself I buy what I like. My favorite drills are the makita subcompacts, none feel better to me. If you don’t need the 3rd tool I’d get the ryobi set and stay with those batteries. If you like the LSA and 3rd tool idea the ridgid is an easy choice. Get the ones that make YOU happy, don’t worry about any of us that are stuck on one brand. In the end I didn’t buy any because I just don’t need more drills. I’d probably buy the Ridgid 3 pack for the money.

Rigid is too damn heavy over 6 pounds. You will get tennis elbow. Ryobi is not even 2 pounds. That made my choice. I'll buy a new one every couple of yrs if I have to to save my elbows
@NarySllim

@@atomicconservativeskunk1094 the ridgid sub compact? It’s about the same as the Ryobi. The big octane drill is a monster I agree.

Come on Ryobi you all could atleast left the bit holder!!!!!. Looks like to me that the size in battery doesn't make that much of a difference only to stop the impact from lagging. I've heard that the hp technology is in the impact that's why the two extra tabs are not there but I think that's not true because the newest hammer drill has them but the impact doesn't I'm confused honestly it didn't seem that big of a difference in power and speed between the brushed and the hp tools, I expected better. One good thing is they're compact
@cjpguitarstar
@cjpguitarstar Год назад
Still makes no sense why they took away the bit holder and mag strip. The base is the same size so you think they could’ve incorporated that in.

Thanks for the video. Almost 2 years later and Ryobi are still packing these great tools with 1.5 batteries. I really dislike that. These are marketed as being pro ready. I don't know a single pro type user, either Pro-DIYer or Tradesman, who uses 1.5 batteries in their tools. Ryobi is all over the place with their messaging here. Either way, these are great tools but the batteries are deal breakers for a lot of people. I think more Pro type users would be willing to try them if the packages had better batteries in them. Not everyone has a Ryobi ecosystem nor are they wanting to drop a small fortune in battery upgrades just to try their tools out. So yeah, Ryobi needs to start offering these kits with better batteries. Especially since their own marketing is pushing the "Pro Ready" title.
@SolelyRyobi
@SolelyRyobi 2 года назад
I agree they need to include the better batteries if the want the pro crowd. I am sure it’s a money thing as we know the good batteries cost more than the tool sometimes

You can just put your own magnets on it. It's not rocket science. --Ryobi is pretty good stuff. A lot of people talk crap, but all my Ryobi tools take a beating. Other than the chuckless key loosening up all the time, can't complain about my cordless
