To me this game has always been the Force Unleashed for Ancent Rome. Just fun power fantasy. Game is just so epic and cinematic (also its funny to see Romans speaking in British accent while killing Britons).
@@willymack5677 I don't mind when they speak English but for the love of all that is sacred give them the accent of their land. Alot of people hate reading subtitles when watching something, so this way both groups are happy (for the most part).
I really like this game, not every game has to have dark souls level of complex combat especially since this game was made to be a tech showcase for the Xbox one which is why it still looks great 10 years later
Dude I finished the campaign, really enjoyed it. I tried multiplayer, but I either couldn't connect or the servers were empty. Truly the most overlooked game of all time
i remember watching this entire playthrough on TheRadBrad and then i bought it myself i think it was supposed to be the first game for the xbox one and most of the development was to show how cinematic and fluid the new gen console was going to be but the story is insanely good and by that alone its worth playing and yes the combat is not the best but it starts to get so fluid at points you forget about it 10/10 game and i do wish they would make another for the new generation!
It's simple. Crytek using Cryengine to showcase tech development in a way people could play and investor could say "noice" while developers buy licenses to use their engine and make insane amounts of money. Just like the Crysis trilogy.
Vikings would be cool but Valhalla is pretty much that no? I reckon maybe Mongolian or Aztec could be unique and have potential for some new mechanics (e.g. dual wielding curved swords, or using an Aztec death horn, etc.)
Happy to see this game getting some love. Not every game needs to be a grand slam of a spectacle. Sometimes a game just hits right for a few hours and that’s okay too
It would be cool if the sequel had an execution mechanic where, instead of pressing the correct button within the time, you could create your own combos using the buttons corresponding with different body parts. Just go crazy with the dismemberment lol and different combos could give different buffs
This was such a good game man the multiplayer is where you can customize/wear other armor. Also just a heads up blunt weapons work very well against armor in history, you basically cave the metal plating inward on the wearer.
Ryse looks better than some games today. Not too many anymore, but like 2 years back, it absolutely did. It was made by Crytek after all. But it's fun to hop onto every few months with a friend on the multiplayer. Don't get me wrong it has its problems, but Ryse's strengths far outshine them.
I played this game to complition and it was fun to play. However me and my Brother would constantly play the Co-Op and those were the funest moments of us playing together it was generally really fun to play.
I love this game! More specifically, I love watching it like a movie from time to time. But if it ever comes to PlayStation, I’d buy and play it. If graphics, acting, and game is functional, I’ll enjoy it. I ended up loving Callisto protocol, love Detroit become human, Asuras Wrath, your game fits with any of these categories, I’m gonna enjoy it. Repetitiveness ain’t gonna stop me :B
Callisto protocol was fun but I just didn't really like all the cinematic crawling and climbing and stuff like going through vents or shimmying other than that it's underrated
This game was an absolute banger. I played through every mission with so much passion. The story was awesome and captivating and I was genuinely feeling with Marius. And I'll never forget the chills I felt when you stay behind for your troops to flee. The music, the feels ... My all time favorite game
How was it misunderstood? This game is the G.O.A.T. of its genre. I replayed its campaign on all of its difficulties and I've never done that with any other game to this day.
Played this game didn't realize it came out on Xbox one downloaded it and was blown away by both story and combat the multiplayer was fun didn't have a Kinect for the voice features but was still fun shame we will never get a sequel to it
I wasn’t a huge fan of how the combat felt in those games but the nemesis system makes any of my criticisms invalid anyway because that system goes so hard
I still remember when they put loot boxes in SoW lol. I got bored after like 5 hours. The story wasn’t really doing it for me. The first game is simple, but better IMO.
Coming from a place of love This game is a fun time combat was pretty easy the story was weird but the setting and executions were Goated and for being damn near the first game on the one very solid
The MP is insanely fun and addictive (where you can wear the Praetorian armor). Get a dedicated partner together and you’re gonna have a dope time. It’s also on Steam Sales for $2 all the time.
As a launch title to show off thr graphics of the Xbone you cant really expect something deep. Its entertaining and looks good. Apparently Crytek trademark or something for Ryse, so maybe something new might come some day. It would be interesting to have a different historical era, but since its been so long I want to revisit Rome.
Ryse for Xbox was kinda like the Order 1886 for PlayStation - a graphical showcase above everything else. I played both and they are both really fun, if a bit short and somewhat repetitive
I actually liked this game a lot back when it came out and still do now. I don't think it deserved an award or anything but it was fun. It was a nice little game to kind of show off what the xbox could handle back then.
Zanny I don’t know if you read comments but if like this game then you have to figure out a way to play Spartan total warrior it’s an older game but it is definitely still worth it. One of if not my favorite video game of all time and 100% deserves a remake
When I got my one x this was the first game I got too. This game still looks beautiful and I played through it twice. Was pretty decent for what it was
I actually liked this game, when xbox one came out, wasn't alot of games to play but Ryse I thought was pretty good for what it was (combat wise, didn't care about the story)
I literally just installed this last week I hardly replay games but I’ve played ryse a few times simple story fun gameplay and looks great even now truly a hidden gem
Its freaking sad... they could have done SO MUCH MORE with the Mulitplayer. In the current state it almost has nothing to offer but I still come back every now and then because the first 1-2 hours are so much fun.
