Without showing CPU temperatures with stock/AIO coolers this test gives just half of its potentional information value. What were temperatures on the 3700x on stock and AIO cooler? Thanks for your work anyway.

This was not work, this was a slap dash thrown together video with minimal effort and no actual useful information because he clearly fucked up the thermal paste on the 3700x if his 3600x at a 95w TDP is running cooler than his 3700x at 65w TDP on the same cooler. This should have been re-done, and the guy knows it. But hey, as long as he can upload something worthless and put all the affiliate links under the video to turn a profit, huh?

Sry if this is a dumb question but I know the minimum about pc related stuff and I just had a friend help me order some components for my new pc and I'd like to know if there's something regarding this paste I should watch out for (someone that knows how to build will do it for me but still I just wanna be safe and know as much as possible myself)

@@anna_5643 I don't claim to know how he fkd up the paste, but if a 95w TDP processor is running cooler than a 65w processor on the same cooler and motherboard... something is very, very wrong with the test method. I have to assume, all other things being equal, that he didn't apply the paste properly, got bad contact with the cooler block and therefore roasted a perfectly good 3700x! Just look at an actual tech youtuber's video, like Bitwit or Gamer's Nexus or someone that actually knows a thing or two, they have plenty of videos on how to apply thermal paste. This guy obviously doesn't know a thing though, I wouldn't take anything he says at face value, he is more interested in hocking merch than giving actual correct advice. That I 100% guarantee.

Good Video, what are the specs you used for the "streaming while gaming test" Default specs are not the same. X264 encoding at Fast? Medium? bitrate? etc. I also noticed you were using a RX 5700 XT, so NVENC is NOT a solution. But could you do the same type of video with a 2060/70 Super with using X264 and NVENC for encoding. Thats more common.

I love my 3600x, runs extremely smooth in combination with 16gb 3200 MHz and a rtx 2060 super 8gb 👌🏻 Water cooling keeps the processor at a nice temperature of 61-65 degrees celsius.

With streaming did you stream off of the gpu or cpu? If you stream 1080 my cpu usage will double from 50-90% I have a 2600x so streaming 1440 p a game that’s using 40-50% should bottle neck it but it’s not! It’s sitting below 70% which is insane to me at least idk wats up

@@mrbrittas3254 At the time I went with a 3600 with a MSI Tomahawk B550 motherboard and a 5500XT GPU and it ran great on a 750W gold seasonic PSU . That said I did end up upgrading and giving that PC to my sister in law. These days I run a 5900x with a Gigabyte Vision D motherboard and a XFX 6800XT GPU that runs on a 850W Platinum Seasonic PSU. The only thing I regret is not building a PC sooner.

Ive got a ryzen 1500x gtx 980 right now, either opting between getting the ryzen 5 3600x and selling my old cpu and gpu and using the money i saved to get a 1080 ti, or I was gonna get the 3700x and just get 16gb more of ram, would anyone have any recommendations? TL;DR R5 will basically give you the same amount of FPS as a R7, just a little lower. R7 is mainly for multitasking, such as gaming and streaming while a R5 is mainly just for people who are gaming and not streaming to people.

a tiny difference gaming wise for 100$ less to spend on a better GPU, Motherboard, Ram, SSD, etc.) if youre on a budget. Know those 4 extra threads for workstation purposes you'd want the 3700x 100%.

I had Ryzen 5-3600 with retail cooler and it is great cpu, but I found on special 3600X CPU and bought it, but retail cooler of X3600 is so noisy, so what I did is I used cooler fan of just 3600 as that fan is silent and good. I found that 3600X cpu is faster with video converting and games a lot from just normal 3600. Not sure what they were doing with cooler of 3600x as is so noisy, but cooler of just 3600 is silent and great and I even used that cooler during summer of 40c and it was still silent. THis prices they are talking in this video, I assume are in USA. I live in Australia and just 3600 is from $330 to $360 and 3600x is from $400 to $450 and somewhere even more and 3700x is around $550. You are so lucky in USA, not sure if I would upgrade to 7 yet.

Half of the games demoed in this video were GPU bottlenecked, so CPU performance wasn’t accurately portrayed. In games like WWZ and R6, the GPU was at 90%+ load the whole time, which doesn’t allow for the CPU to be the limiting factor.

this is a bit misleading.. you clearly say that you had an inadequate thermal solution for the 3700x... so why not test both cpus with stock coolers, in addition to a beefy noctua or something that can guarentee to show the chips potential?

3600x is kicking for now, but the cpu usage is lower in the 3700x. If you need good game performance at this time 3600 or the x version. If you want a cpu you do not need to swap out in 2 or 3 years the 3700x.

atm the pricing on this 2 are around the same and the 3700x is always in stock, but the stock cooler witch is best for 5 ore 7 because 7 looks really nice and i heard alot of good things from it and its only 60-65 watt compared to 90 watt on the 3600x

Thats because de 3600x runs in much higher clocks. If you overclock the 3700x TDP would be 105.

Are both of you sure that you can play games/run software without the cpu having to catch up to the gpu all the time (aka bottlnecking)? I was thinking of getting the 3600X with a 2070S, but might get the R7 if the R5 isn't enough, or are both of them completely fine on a system with a strong GPU?

Gunji well bruv, when im gaming, my cpu load is 45-50% and my gpu is at 90-100%. is that bad?

@@buladat7258 Wow, that sounds like the CPU isn't even bothered while the GPU is working overtime, it's not bad at all, it almost means that your 2080 is the bottleneck which is funny, in other words you have no bottleneck it might be the game that is not properly optimized which is stressing your GPU.

Why would you stream at 1440p but have your game at 1080p

I believe compression at 1080p doesn’t give you true 1080p streams but 1440p will give enough headroom for 1080p after compression. I could be wrong

Well, you wasted your money, and are continuing to do so using more power on a daily basis to get less cpu power. He fucked up the cooling badly, the 3700x is 65W TDP, 3600x is 95W. There is NO WAY that the 3600x didn't run hotter all other things being equal, which means all thins were most definitely NOT equal. This video should be deleted, but why would he delete his zero effort shit when he has so many affiliate links in the description? huh? This channel is no better than watch mojo, and they are horrible.
