I believe the 10 meter rule applies... If it looks good at 10 meters, it's beautiful... If anyone says it's a shite job, chuck them overboard... Nice fish too...

Thanks! Yes, I’m almost there. The knee didn’t heal up so I will have to have surgery, but I can have it done when I have more time to rest it properly.

Yup. But probably most significantly, the climate here makes it super difficult. Even with the quality paint used at the yard, it comes out looking less than ideal. During the time since creating this to it going live, I’ve decided I’ve got more important things on my plate. I’m sure some time in the future I’ll do a paint job in a better spot. For now, off to getting the boat back in the water!

Impressive, walking on stilts while wearing a knee brace. Nice female Mahi. Where do you plan to wait out the hurricane season? Hull looks really nice. Great job. And, as always, a goodie to my virtual friends. You know if I came to visit, I'd spoil them rotten. I hope the knee continues to improve.

I’m in the DR riding out hurricane season in Luperon, it’s a good hurricane hole. The dogs say hi right back! They would definitely be jealous if they truly knew I had a channel and they weren’t getting any attention from my fans haha so you’re making them feel special and that means a lot to me!

I enjoyed the dual sided vantage of work/play in this video. I look forward to following your work/adventures. Your story is a good one! I've gone and I've reviewed your past videos. Thanks for finding the courage to share your deepest fears. You are a "whole" person. You will continue to be a "Whole" person. Well maybe a 7/8's person (considering the gimpy knee)... for now... I'm worried about your knee. It was very swollen in the fishing part of this stream. There is so much you are going to accomplish. I just am very hopeful you won't have to do it with a limp (at least for long.) Fair winds, hope you've avoided any problems w/ Hurricane Beryl. Be good to yourself, I care, M-

Hey! Awesome, I’m glad it was an enjoyable video! Thanks for catching up on some of my adventures and who I am. It’s definitely one-sided in that I rarely get to know any of you watching, but I do feel more connected when I open up. I’m glad it can be transmitted in a video! My knee didn’t get better and I’ll have to have surgery to remove the solids. I’ve lost some mobility in it, but it doesn’t cause me much discomfort. I’ll get the surgery when I’ve got the time to rest without stressing about boat stuff. Beryl scooted south of us and it was a regular day with the trades just a blowin! Have a nice day.

Hopefully! Just the other day I realized that for so long, this has been a dream of mine. Now, I’m on the edge of the dream and every time I blink, another piece of it becomes a reality. Funny enough, it was always like that, I just didn’t see it until I started making the decisions and changes that would more effectively get me there. You got this!

I always wondering what those stilts were like 😊 looks like you got the hang of it. It's nice to see you getting back out sea...just a reminder of why so much work is worth it. I know I'm feeling a bit lost myself in endless boat work. Fairwinds.

I finally got to try them out! I definitely would need more practice though especially away from the boat. The guy who lent me the stilts said that if we just practice for a few hours it will feel like regular walking with two legs. But, I’d need bigger boots for that because my feet were too small for the straps. I know the feeling of feeling lost in boat work. I have a giant list and I ended up re-organizing it to “to splash” and “to live on mooring” and “to day sail” and “to cruise” because those are motivational milestones. I hope maybe something like that could help you. You got this! Hang in there, and thanks for being a YT member. It helps a lot.

Fishing.... with a deep sea rod and reel... "Pull up, Wind down".... And they call the small Mahi's "Peanuts".... Still great eating... Being on the notrh west side of the DR, didn't seem like you got too much from Beryl.. Great...

Thank you! Knee is a minor inconvenience now because the fluid turned solid and I’ve lost some mobility, but other than that, it’s okay. I’ll get surgery later when I’m not so busy with other things.

Dear Mrs Captain, Sir. it’s such a pleasure and honor to may follow your lifestyle and gorgeous movies up from Germany couch life. so, how to cool skin after an injury. Don’t put pure frost on your skin, as this will ‘burn’ you, it is too cold. you could consider to put a wet towel into the fridge. When it’s frozen, wrap the frozen towel in a warm towel, and wrap it around your knee. you can then fix it and continue your day for the next 15-30 Minutes? and then change to next frozen towel. remember, your health is your biggest wealth. thank you so much for may following up your lifestyle. I am never expecting an answer from you. have you had trouble with the big storms?

Hey! Thanks for this. I do take time to read every comment and respond. That is a really good idea, wet a towel and freeze it. I could easily do that now and have some on hand for the inevitable next injury. I haven’t had any trouble with the storms here yet. Beryl went south of us and the mountains broke up any wind we would have gotten. It was just a regular day here with the trades a blowin.

Hey! Yea, I later learned that fish carcass makes a delicious soup. Adventureman Dan later showed me how to make one. I wish I knew how to do it at the time of this video because I would have kept the carcass. Instead, we threw the carcass overboard. Next time I’ll film the process of the soup making though. Thanks for tuning in! I’ll be sure to title the video something like “fish soup.”

Those stilts are dangerous, even for professionals who have used them for years. They are illegal here in Virginia. I only saw a few guys use them and they were drywallers and a plasterer. You really needed a scaffold. Things are coming together, smile, Nicole, the sea awaits!

Ah! Crazy, I had no idea stilts could be illegal! I’d love a good scaffold, just some resources are hard to come by in more countries than others. I try not to think about how much easier some of these projects would be if I were somewhere else. It’s no use, really 😊 thanks for following, I can’t wait to show you all splash day!

@@SailingArtha Yes, I had a career in the construction business. Yards should have 4' x 8' scaffolds with locking wheels. But in the real world, you've got to go with what you've got. Keep believing in yourself. You are a strong, intelligent, well-organized, logical, liberated woman who turns roadblocks into speed bumps and keeps right on going. Your content is superb..

Your skin must have been a mess that evening - you need sanding overalls. BTW, you'd be much better off with scaffold.

I do have a hazmat suit and I always wear it for fiberglass work (well, unless I’m doing like a quick sand by hand), but it’s just so freaking hot here that I sometimes sand without it and rinse off immediately. And you’re exactly right with the scaffolding. There just aren’t the same kinda resources here as there are in other countries. I’m working with what I’ve got and trying not to think about how much easier it would be with this and that haha. It’s no use. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
