Creativity is a form of intelligence many (not all) critics lack. Folks with middling to low intellect will often cling to rules, order and process to keep themselves feeling safe. Doing something that is beyond their comprehension or outside the lines is very threatening because it highlights personal deficiencies. With projects like this, a blend of creativity and ability is presented. It's bound to stir up some small d*c* energy. :) Keep up the good work!

Just a little heads up. The Honda clones tend to have a lot of metal in the oil during the first 15-20 minutes of operation. I would recommend running the motor at different RPMs for about a hour and then change the oil and filter. The 670 isn’t as bad as the other predators thanks to its oil filter but probably still a good idea. I have a video on my channel of a 459 (they just have the strainer and a true filter) and it was pretty nasty after maybe a half hour of run time.

This is going to be a really important milestone. If memory serves, this car in its stock configuration delivers something like 40 hp or so. Are we into the first project that is actually able to match (if not improve) standard engine figures? Anyway, we’ll follow the process with great interest. Thanks Jimbo!
@tei1337
@tei1337 Год назад
I believe it had 46hp with the first engine, then the later 1.3l had something like 52hp. It will be interesting to see how close to the original 0-60 of about 20 seconds (iirc) he'll get with the predator twin after upgrades. Perhaps it could even be faster depending on how far the engine can be pushed.

@@gustiwidyanta5492 yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. Not sure if Jimbo's bench dyno that he used on the "big block" in the insight can handle this engine, but we will still be able to compare 0-60 times to the claimed time for the original engine.

I’m glad I found this channel! I learned to drive in a Renault 12 so I’m a bit sentimental for the old Renault. They were incredibly underpowered and I remember in my lesson with Granddad I was nervous about accelerating too hard and spinning the wheels so I stalled a little in the beginning, now, I realise I could probably have launched it at full throttle and barely gotten a squeak from the tyres. I wish I bought the car from him though. It ended up in a scrap yard, the poor old girl.

2:30 - I've been a big Saab fan since I could drive (early 2000s), I've had a couple Saab 900 turbos from the mid 80s, and man those thrust bearings always go bad. An engine not designed to handle that at all, it'd be fine for a project going a couple of thousand miles sure, but I don't know if the average car person understands just how important what you're bringing up is; those lateral movements put a ton of strain on the components... I'm glad you mentioned it!

I would have gotten a lot more out of the books I encountered if I'd read this in college and wouldn't have wasted so much time (years) developing my reading habits. What Adler and Van Doren have done is to systematize the way we should read books into four progressive stages that sum to a philosophy of how to approach self-education. First is elementary reading (running your eyes over every word--middle school level reading), then inspectional reading to learn the book's structure before reading through it (skimming sections, carefully examining the table of contents, insert, back of the book--high school level), analytic reading (the core, time consuming art of actively absorbing and engaging the material--college level), and syntopical reading (reading multiple books on a single topic to put them in dialogue with each other--graduate level). Along the way are great thoughts on peripheral topics, like speed-reading (spoiler: it completely misses the point), and the difference between buying a book and owning it (dissecting and annotating it, making it a resource to you). I haven't seen the reading process and how to advance in it laid out so clearly anywhere else, and I picked up a few practices I've already started implementing. If you've made the decision to read for more than simple entertainment and want to get the most out of the books you take on, this one is well worth the investment. (And: a good book recommendation aids inspectional reading: it gives the book's main ideas and structure and helps you decide if the book is worth the energy to read analytically.)

I bought this book based on what it claimed was the number of copies sold, later I should have realised considering the age of the book that perhaps this wasn't such a bold claim. This book provides a good process of how most people already engage with reading materials and it gives some useful advice on how to get the most out of a theoretical or practical book. Its not useful for fiction but if you are studying or read theoretical books you will find it useful. However it could be perhaps half the length as the authors have really made some simple processes much more complex than they need to be. To sum up the key messages of the book: Pick up the book you are going to read, read the contents, read the introduction, read the ending, read some paragraphs from the body of the book. Then read the book from start to end without taking notes or looking things up, this is your first reading. Then undertake a second in-depth reading of the book, come to "terms" with the authors language and also write up some key sections in the book concisely so that you have a good understanding of them. After these processes the authors claim you will have a good understanding of a book. I agree but that is a lot of work! If this makes sense to you then you probably don't need to read the book but overall I found it useful and I'm sure it will help many people realise that they are actually better readers than they already give themselves credit for when reading this book, and of course perhaps the best way to improve your reading is to read, although there are certainly more interesting and intelligent books than "How To Read A book"!

Really like it! It’s helped me find out what I've been doing wrong. For a non reader, the size of the book is shocking but I’ve been getting through it quite fast which is also shocking. Great tips and I wish I had read this as a teen!! It will change how I read going forwards

I don’t really read these kinds of books. I’m addicted to sci fi and historical romance and intake most my gossip/nonfiction news from social media mediums and independent research (Tik Tok and Twitter). I don’t think I’ve ever read a biography, autobiography, or memoir outside of an educational setting. I picked this up just bc I was interested in all the weird excerpts the media put all over headlines in the days leading up. I’m also a big supporter of evaluating primary sources first-hand as my liberal arts bachelors degree taught me before I form opinions. I expected a celebrity tell-all gossip piece.. BUT, this piece took my breath away. I read it in one night and went through so many emotions. I had to put it down multiple times to laugh, cry, and self reflect. Well-done to Harry taking the hard step to be vulnerable to the world in his own way and taking control of his narrative and his writer is absolutely so talented. The writer is so magnificent, I cannot say it enough

This book is an example of Tolstoy’s oft-quoted observation, ‘All happy families are alike. Unhappy families are unhappy in their own way.’ HRHH is a miserable man. He expresses how his life came to be thus. But he also has moments of happiness - most of which inevitably involve either his mother, Princess Diana, or his wife, Meghan. He does not just tell us how happy he was and is with them, but he reveals incidents in which the tenderness of love is felt. The book is replete with them.

My first car was a FIAT 126, twin cylinder rear engine, about 650cc. An important thing to note is it had a big (about 6 inch) tube pulling cold air from the sides of the car, and into the cooling fan, once the tube came off so the engine just recirculated the hot air in the engine bay, so it overheated. I'd have been tempted to have used a centrifugal clutch between the engine and input shaft of the engine, just like a special version of the Citroen 2CV - I think it was called the traffic. Great video though, I'll look forward to see how it runs.

This is something that I have been waiting for and really wanting to see in action. I've even thought about trying to get a Trabant to mount the same engine into since the original engine is a 2-cycle unit and worse for the environment. I can hardly wait for the next installment of this Renault project! Btw, the clip at the end would be a good one for the "Wham Baam Security Cam" channel.
